It’s either “no touching” or a free for all, you can’t have it both ways. Some of the guardsmen need to uphold the “no touching “ rule because it’s not fair on those guardsmen who do.

I saw the ‘Gateman ‘ and support trooper point to the signs beside the Horse box’ and appear to tell the mounted guard that the public are not a.lowed to touch the horse. Perhaps nobody had told the mounted guard of the new sign🙄 DONT Touch the horse.

What is going on with the guards this year? They all need to be retrained to understand what their ceremonial duties are and what they represent. Not until this year have we seen police having to step in and be the voice of the 'guards'.

The sign doesn’t say on the guards digression, because it’s his horse he makes the rules, it states Do not touch the horse, talk about mixed messages and confusion from the public. I thought in the United States the military follow rules or there consequences, I’ve noticed this guard does this all the time, if the guard can’t follow the rules he needs to find another job, and definitely doesn’t need to wear the uniform or be at his post, the officer has to do his job!!! Actions like his make it hard for other guards that are doing their job!

Isn’t it odd that when the Warning Sign includes,“Don’t Touch The Reins“, the Mounted Guards don’t hesitate to shout at tourists that kept on touching & pulling the reins. Now, it was changed to“Don’t Touch The Horse“ plus the Prohibition Sign. Despite of its addition to the previous Warning, the Guards are dreadfully silent about enforcing it. What’s the point of having it posted on the wall? Is the CoH aware of what’s going on? I’m so furious & disgusted about this fiasco! Enforcing the Laws start at the top. Our Guards can do 0nly so much. Barriers are Needed to keep those tourists away from Our Guards and Horses. A Police Officer is Needed standing guard next to each Soldier&Horse during those stressful hours; Not 0nly showing up when emergency button is pushed. What good does it do to have the signs up showing and stating not to touch the horse, etc., when the horse guards won't challenge and say anything to the ignorant or stupid tourists who find a way to disobey the rules by having their kids pet the horses and then the adults pet the horses, and then the next tourist that come up are like well they were able to pet the horse so I should be able to without consequence. Most everybody ignored the signs purposely. Only once did I see the officer come up and tell someone not to touch the horse, but at soon as she left, it was business as usual. If you're going to put the signs up, enforce them strictly.

I myself have an Icelandic horse, I had allowed children with a parent to go to the horse, but it must be on the horse's terms. And the rider knows how the horse is in the mood at just in that moment. 😢It must be a real crap job for the horse to stand like that, every day😢

I’ve watched many of the new videos where the sign says “DON’T TOUCH THE HORSE” yet many of the Troopers just sit there and allow them to be touched and people cross the white line. What was the use of spending all that money refurbishing the arches and laying down the lines if the troopers allow it. I now often turn off the video as it annoys me so much to show disrespect from the tourists.

The sign doesn’t say on the guards digression, because it’s his horse he makes the rules, it states Do not touch the horse, talk about mixed messages and confusion from the public. I thought in the United States the military follow rules or there consequences, I’ve noticed this guard does this all the time, if the guard can’t follow the rules he needs to find another job, and definitely doesn’t need to wear the uniform or be at his post, the officer has to do his job!!! Isn’t it odd that when the Warning Sign includes,“Don’t Touch The Reins“, the Mounted Guards don’t hesitate to shout at tourists that kept on touching & pulling the reins. This is so disturbing! The officer tries to help reinforce the no touching and the guard makes her look like a fool by allowing it. There is something really wrong with that. What good does it do to have the signs up showing and stating not to touch the horse, etc., when the horse guards won't challenge and say anything to the ignorant or stupid tourists who find a way to disobey the rules by having their kids pet the horses and then the adults pet the horses, and then the next tourist that come up are like well they were able to pet the horse so I should be able to without consequence. Most everybody ignored the signs purposely. Only once did I see the officer come up and tell someone not to touch the horse, but at soon as she left, it was business as usual. If you're going to put the signs up, enforce them strictly.

I’ve watched many of the new videos where the sign says “DON’T TOUCH THE HORSE” yet many of the Troopers just sit there and allow them to be touched and people cross the white line. What was the use of spending all that money refurbishing the arches and laying down the lines if the troopers allow it. I now often turn off the video as it annoys me so much to show disrespect from the tourists.
