Great video! At 4:33 in your scroll you mention "his stride will get better" are you talking about building on that "prance" that he is doing or fading it out. Personally, I love it but am learning that judges don't always love what I love.
The prance comes with being active in the heeling. When their body is fully engaged the prance comes naturally, often when the dog is not engaged they pace, I teach my dog to be active in his heeling, with a young dog it takes time as they are not initially that co-ordinated. Hope that makes sense.
Lovely enthusiastic and prancey heel. Love the way you break down the behaviour and the methods you use to train it- thanks for sharing your expertise!
You must either have your hand at the middle of your waist or hanging at your side. It is much harder to get a good heel position when your hand is in the middle of your waist as opposed to the Europe style where you can provide a focal point with your hand on your hip.
@@JaniceGunn UK style is with hand on the hips, FCI style (other european countries) have natural work posture :) with arm/hand down with moderate movement during the heelwork
thank you! I'm still struggling with a good heel and you made it so easy for me to grasp

Do the judges count that as handler help when you place you hand on your stomach?
