That was really interesting. I had never heard of the 'stand-by' mode before. I was going from settle to another active command (like go find) or completely release the dog from training. I really like the 'stand-by' it makes a lot of sense and really good to keep their focus. Thank you Janice for passing on your knowledge, I truly appreciate.

when teaching Standby, if you had a shorter dog, would your hands be lower? LOVE your videos!

I can’t seem to find the video on how to teach your dog to settle. Can you please send me the link. Thank you

We provided a link for it in the description. Follow the written text all the way to the very end and it follows that.

How would you end this session? If using command break, how does the dog know to move from settle to stand by with the break command, then break to completely done all work using the same command? If the dog comes back to you in stand by mode, how do you communicate you are completely free? Thank you very much!

I condition my dog so that EVERY time I give the break cue, the automatically go into standby. When I completely finish a training session I say all done. I am never "all done" until I am leaving the area and finished for the day.

And what do you do for release to the world? "Free" is my release que and that generally means to go about what you want. I will def try this with Pronto.
