    Lovely ! This variation has not yet arrived in Mumbai. At least the name !! I am so happy, that you have used the perfect past tense , "ground" . Today's generation, mostly use grinded or even grounded 😢😢

      Definitely you can .. just use ice cold water while grinding so that batter doesn't heat up

      If we grind both at a time.. It will grind coarsely.. Some urad dal doesn't grind well

    Mam very nice recipy .I want to ask can I make the batter in normal mixi jar .will it taste same .while making idli I use fruitsalt but u r not using in this recipe . Still it come out soft and floppy.mine gets hard .pls reply me mam

      You can grind in mixi. use ice water while grinding .

    maami nice- is it mandatory to add sabudaana or can we add poha or idicha avul what we call in tamil? which one is better?

    Ma'am, why do we use a cloth over the idli plate for this recipe? Will it not come out well on only normal idli plate. Secondly, can we use this batter for dosa also?

      Yes it will come well. This is the traditional method of steaming idlis . You can make dosa too

    Hello Gita ji, I followed the recipe exactly the way you explained but my idlies are flat. They look plumped at first when I open the lid but get flat in a few seconds. Please tell me what did I do wrong?

      It depends on the quality of the dal too. if it is very old it may not be good. Try again

    Mam, shd we use methi seeds like we normally use for idli n dosa or avoid it for the khushboo idli . Pls let me know , I want to follow ur exact recipe .I am from chennai .

    Madam ldlis very soft but in Andhra that type Rice not available please give me link for Rice I. especially part boiled Rice lam regular watcher of your dishes

      You can grind in mixie too. Add ice water while grinding so that batter does not heat up
      using cloth is traditional method.. it gives very soft idlis

    I tried this batter for dosa. It was just yum. Added ground green chillies + ginger, and sauteed onion + coriander leaves and made dosas like set dosa. I have no words to appreciate this batter. Tastes great, crispy....thanks for the recipe 🙏😊

    Madam tried the kushboo idly today. Believe me it turned out to be simply delicious. Though I used the mixie instead of the wet grinder, it turned out very soft and fluffy. Thanks a lot once again.

    Is idli rice the same as parboiled rice?

    Nice recipe. My name is khushboo and anytime I encounter a south Indian they ask me khushboo like in khushboo idli. I kept wondering why idli got a name khushboo. Googled and found the answer. I am going to try this idli 🙂

    Soooooooo Soooooooooo many different recipies for a simple idli different ratios different ingredients like some have methi, some have even a slice of bread, rice rava instead of full rice, baking soda, yeast, even secret ingredient cotton seeds, etc etc etc . Unbelievable!!!! 🤔🤔🤔

      Sabudana is necessary for this type of idli

      You can use any raw rice. old is better

      did you grind in mixi or wet grinder ?
