Just had a cool idea. What if MK using the stones (to fix the sky) requires him to cross over THROUGH the cracks and close them from the other side? And there's like another dimension over there.
So he's sacrificing himself, but not actually dying. And then season 6 is about everyone else trying to rescue him 👀

Maybe the other dimension could be the set, that depicts all the demons having regular jobs.
Oooh! Thats a really cool theory!! Maybe we get like a bunsh of glimpes of diffrent dimensions (where we like see ninjago or something), but then MK ends up in the orignal jttw(where things are diffrent from monkie kid, or something? Or maybe he ends up in the past, before heaven and earth were sepperated, and he ends up being that univereses version of Pangu (the one who split heaven and earth). Idk- :D

In fact, I think MK cried because Goku turned into stone again in order to save the world. Among the five stones, the colors of four are obviously the Four Symbols. Although the top golden stone may represent the Yellow Dragon (Qilin) in the center, it is so similar to Wukong's color that it is most likely that the Qilin's stone was destroyed and then Wukong sacrificed himself.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who noticed! In the trailer, you can actually see the dragon and tiger giving up their green and white stones to MK. Both creatures are a part of the four symbols which also include a phoenix which also shows up in the trailer. I know Nuwa's stones don't match what is in the trailer, but each creature actually represents each of her stone's colors. The dragon is supposed to represent blue like her original stone, but its wuxing/five phases is wood. It is possible that the creators decided to change the stone to the color green to match its wuxing = wood. (The tortoise in the four symbols, represents black but its wuxing is water = blue stone) Although it is called the 4 symbols, there are actually 5 directions/creatures and each suspiciously matches up to what I said.
I highly doubt that he will sacrifice himself, because season 6 is already confirmed and a season without a main character will be as weird as possible, but I think he will sacrifice someone or something
It could be that he tries to sacrifice himself/they think him being sacrificed is the only solution, but then they figure something else out.
Reminds me of how Harry Potter was supposed to die in order to kill Voldemort, but then it turns out he didn't need to die.
It could also be that MK sacrifices himself, ends up surviving, but there are severe consequences (like memory loss or going full monkey). And then season 6 is about dealing with those consequences.

I just want to ask wild brains and Lego this: hey guys a Lego monkie kid and a DC universe collaboration, make it happen.
I have a theory of my own that could account for the 10 kings statement without there needing to be a sixth missing stone.
If you’ll notice in the show four of the five stones have a wielder in the form of the four cardinal beasts (Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Red Phoenix, and Black Tortoise) which can only be used by them unless they willingly give them up, the only stone that doesn’t have a permanent wielder is the golden stone which (as depicted in imagery in the sets) was used by Nüwa.
One day she came to the realization of the risks that could come from this, mainly that someone could find a way to use the golden stone to kill the four cardinal beasts and take the remaining stones, leading to massive destruction, and decided to rectify that by creating the fifth cardinal beasts (the golden dragon in our world mythology; MK in LMK).
She left for the mortal realm to get inspiration for this new beast and came across Wukong who offered her the remains of his stone egg.
Throughout the process she found herself not only enjoying Wukong’s company (more than she expected too) and found herself feeling happier in the mortal realm that she ever felt in the celestial realm.
She then decided that beyond wielding the fifth stone this new being would have no destined purpose, they would simply be her (and Wukong’s) son.
Unfortunately (as theorized by @Cherllyio ) Li Jing caught wind of what she was doing and demanded Nüwa destroy the “abomination” before she could finish it, when she refused he trapped her in his pagoda and attempted to destroy MK which he (unbeknownst to him) failed at.
The traitor king who was aware of what was happening altered Wukong’s memories and had him hide MK away so he could fulfill his “destiny” in the future.
And other than the traitor king no one knew what happened to the fifth stone, with every one assuming it was lost or destroyed.
Hence the 10 king’s statement that one of the stones needed to fix the world was missing.
Killing the mc is the second worst thing to ever happen the first is killing a dog in a movie if the show ends with mk dead I will scream at the writers
Well, if I'm correct and they do go the whole "MK has to sacrifice himself" route, I'm sure he'll end up surviving somehow - although there might be significant consequences.
A cool consequence would be him losing his memory and then the next season would be about how that's dealt with.
Or, maybe he goes full primal monkey, like what happened with Chiro in SRMTHFG.

Yay! New upload (got really exited when i got that notifaction, lol) Quick detail: The Five Coloured stones in the original myth is acutally based of something called "The Five Phases", which is a concept scheme in China. Each of the five phases are as following:
• Red(hou), symbolizes Fire
• Yellow(tu), symbolizes Earth
• White(jin), symbolizes Metal
• Black(shui), symbolizes Water
• Blue(mu), symbolizes Wood
And theese phases are acutally also related to the magical creatures we see in the trailer! Since we clearly see an Azure Dragon: (which is The Azure Dragon of The East, which is connected to the element of wood) and we also see a white tiger, a red bird(or phoneix?), and a black tortoise.
• The White Tiger of the west is connected to metal.
• The Vermillion Bird of the south is connected to fire.
• The Black Tortoise of the north is connected to water.
Theese are together called "the four symbols", or "the four mythlogical symbols", and guard the worlds four directions. But there is acutally a fifth one called "the yellow dragon", which is connected to earth, yin and yang, the changing of seasons, the center of the cosmos and so on. And we acutally do see the yellow dragon!
You mentioned at 2:35 that Nüwa has a symbol of one of the stones in her hair, but right underneath that stone is a symbol of yellow dragon. Therfore the stone she has in her hair, is probably the yellow one.
Now, I do like the theory that MK is going to sacfrice himself (and agree on it), but i dont think there is going to be an "extra stone", because of this connection to the five phases, and they cant just make a new phase (that would be weird). Instead i think the reason they changed colours are well... so they can sell toys. I mean, if i sold toys i would change the colours too, so they looked more bright and colourful to young kids.
So instead of MK being the fifth stone, I theorise that MK was supposed to be made with thoughs five phases stones, but then something went wrong and he was made uncomplete/ and or broken (as you theorised yourself in your "what is MK video.")
And we acutally do see the five phases symbolized in past seasons! In season 1 ep 8, "Skeleton Key", when MK opens his mind with the Key, we see a bunsh of weird symbols. Expect! They arent acutally weird symbols, they are acutally symbols from the Tajitu(太極圖), which is a symbol or diagram that represetns Taji (meaning "The Supreme ultimate").
If you search up a picture of the Tajitu(太極圖), and try to connect each symbol in it, to the symbols we see in that scene, you can acutally find each one of them! And one of the symbols in the Tajitu(the middle one), acutally symbolizes the five phases!

It seems Sun Wukong came from inside the stone, but MK was made from the stone. So, MK IS the stone, but I don't think Sun Wukong is.

After reading some of the comments i have a theory Mk might die and become a Guardian of the sky and the stones and leave everyone to protect the world while he guards the stones and protects the sky form cracking and maybe in the confirmed season six according to some of the comments the Main group could try and get him back but who knows this theory is crazy as fuck its probly not cannon but let me know your thoughts
