I was explaining to a friend why aspherea (don’t know how to spell it) didn’t become a water snake when nya was drained because she didn’t swallow nya’s elemental power like she did for Kia then my friend questioned why they didn’t just use the same draining method as the time twins and getting new weapons to remove her powers would be easy as they original time blades were made by Kia and Nya’s parents and I think this point will keep me up at night.
Nya could not use her powers in a way that would make it possible for her powers to be absorbed, and chronosteel permanently takes away one's powers, unlike Aspheera's spell
@@helenos_152 ok I know that is the most probable explanation but where does it actually say that in the series she can still manipulate water shown in her fight with wojira and if anything this would probably be the most likely form to be able to make energy beams so while it probably is the actual excuse I just don’t like it
I think after the fight with Wu and the Overlord, the season went downhill from there. Which is a shame because the pieces were right there for a great conclusion. I am so glad Dragons Rising is fixing my problems with Crystalized and taking their time
@@Appmonvert I'm also glad Harumi FINALLY redeemed herself and became good. took her long enough, and the reason behind it made sense. the Devourer made Garmadon evil in the first place, yet it was the destruction of the Overlord that cleansed him, meaning the Devourer was the Overlord's creation, and thus, by creating the devourer, the Overlord was the one truly at fault for the death of Harumi's parents
I'd say the whole Lloyd oni form plot could have been soo much better if they did one thing, TAKE A CUE FROM DEVIL MAY CRY specifically Dante's arc in Devil May Cry 3 is having to accept both his human and demon sides as part of himself as he'd spent the whole first act rejecting his demon side and only used it after Vergil defeated him while in the finale Dante was able to defeat Vergil after accepting both sides of himself compared to Vergil who considered his humanity a weakness to be cast aside leading to him losing, it even caused him to lose against Nero is DMC5 who had just awakened his own demon form and won because he used his human emotions (in this case his drive to stop Vergil, his father, and Dante, his uncle, from killing each other) to fuel his Devil trigger I think what they should have done is have Lloyd transform back as normal with the overlord taunting him about how he became just like the oni from season 10, who only care about and fight for themselves, only for Lloyd to remember both Mystake and Garmadon who both were oni but who used their power to protect what they loved, how Mystake loved the land she called home and Garmadon despite having his humanity removed still fought to save his son, and upon remembering this, Lloyd transforms back into his oni form and says that while that is part of himself, he isn't fighting for himself, he fights to protect what he loves, his home, his family, his friends, just like Mystake and Garmadon did before him, that this side of him isn't being used to destroy, but to protect, they could even have Lloyd ride the golden ultra dragon as normal just in his oni form symbolizing his acceptance of all sides of his heritage, his oni side, his dragon side, and his humanity fueling both, plus it would still be really hype which is the point of a grand finale like this
I honestly liked The Benefit of Grief. I think it might be the best episode of Crystalized. Sally is a bit much but she's not overly annoying at least for me.
I think calling it the best is a bit much and would personally say it's the worst episode in pt. 1. The idea behind it was really good, but it was very unnecessary. Zane should've already had turned on his emotions after Nya returned (yes I know we got a scene about that but that could've easily have been written out). I would say the best episode would have to be The Spider's Design. It really left you wanting more
I do agree with aspheera getting the water form and make Aspheera Nya’s villain and Pythor Kai’s villain since Jay and Pythor have no beef and that scene earlier in the season with Kai and Pythor pay off and The mechanic could be jays villain since he stopped Unagami like how lloyd mentioned why the meachanic wants revenge on the ninja so it makes a lot more sense

Honestly they are lucky dareth was their lawyer because breaking aspheera stealing a truck and a staff could’ve landed them around 50 years in prison so dareth making a good point saved them from spending a long time in prison.
16:07 actually, there is a encounter with Jay, it’s a short where he stopped pythor and a group of serpentine robbing a bunch of noodles trucks, just happened during season 1, just shown in the new style but I do agree Pythor getting the nunchucks of lightning doesn’t make too much sense
Also, funny how you posted a Crystalized review on the same day that some Ninjago Crystalized Soundtrack (mainly the Kabuki Theme) was posted on TH-cam
I still don't think it would've been good. It would've gone into the Oni form being bad, which is just wrong. Lloyd should've accepted that part of himself.
@@ZaidGameZI think the best version of events would’ve been making his Oni Form a fusion of his Dragon and Oni heritage (cause most Oni are ash black whereas he’s gold like his USM form)
One of my favourite little details in the first episode is the Guy with brown hair next to 😂Misdemeanour, who seems very internationally to be Metalonian, similar voice to Korgran, and similar Symbol to Karlof!
some certain things you mentioned during your review of crystalized part 1 (like how aspheera's pyramid is back without any trace of lava that we saw from season 11, and how the kryptarium prison doesn't use vengestone while we saw them actually using it in season 6) made me realize how crystalized was always doomed to be a messy and rushed season this season is basically season 2 but far worse, saying this as someone who doesn't enjoy season 2 that much either
Season two at least didn’t horribly character assassinated nearly the entire ninja team minus Cole. Kai and jay fight for nothing Zane turned off his emotions even though that is his greatest fear Lloyd is a coward and idiot trusting harumi but not trusting garmadon. LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN TRUSTING HARUMI WHO HAS COMMITTED MULTIPLE WAR CRIMES AND BETRAYED HIM OVER GARMADON WHO DID COMMIT WAR CRIMES BUT AT LEAST HE TURNED AROUND AND BECAME A SORT OF GOOD GUY I JUST HATE CRYSTALLIZED SO MUCH ITS THE WORST SEASON OF NINJAGO EVEN WORSE THEN THE FIRE CHAPTER AND THE MOVIE. The movie has its problems but at least Lloyd is in character to not trust garmadon since he is a deadbeat dad.

@@snookerdooker471chill out, crystalized is not worse than the fire chapter bro😭 and also about the thing with zane turning off his emotions, haven't u noticed how nya's, zane's AND partially lloyd's greatest fears come true? that's the whole point yk and while they did do almost everyone dirty, particularly lloyd, i don't think they completely assasinated them. lloyd IS an idiot tho for trusting harumi, but that's kinda also a part of his character, he always sees the best in people even if it leads to HIM getting hurt
Here are the reasons why Lloyd not accepting his oni Form is wrong 1. No selfacceptance 2. Using it to fight for the greater good. Nya didn't wanted to merge with the sea, but she did it to save Ninjago. So why can't Lloyd just confront his fear for the greater good. He didn't know there is another way to defeat the Overlord, him becoming an oni was the only chance in his head 3. Lloyd during this season just can't shut up about how evil the Oni are. Bro, did you forgot that Mystake gave her life for the resistance? 4. Lloyd realy slowly started to accept that maybe he was wrong and Garmadon did change, and yet he still didn't want to use the oni form. Why are you so stupid Lloyd? Not only Mystake but now also Garmadon is fighting for good yet you still are against using your oni power to save Ninjago.
maybe because he said multiple times that he never wanted to end up like his father who literally attempted to kill him while being evil. When yu experience that kind of trauma you would want absolutly nothing to do with anything related to it. in the season you see how disappointed Lloyd is in himself everytime he loses his self control. Maybe because he feels lf he loses his control he wont be able to regain it. So no he isnt stupid, he's scared and scarred.
@@ArizonaRedsexept that being an oni never was what made garmadon evil, wu is part oni, the first spinjitzu master is part oni, and neither of them are evil
@@twstudios8538 Lloyd does not want to become like his father. His father atm is only oni and garmadon said that he is evil. There is no dragon to Garmadon he is a full oni and oni are evil. Lloyd doesnt want to be evil
@@ArizonaRedsThis line of reasoning could potentially work, if they did not give Garmadon a redemption arc. He had long since left pure evil, having an arc during Season 10 and post with the lazy way they brought him back in this very season. Garmadon might not be good. But it's shown he's not pure evil. Also this is the same Lloyd who advocated from breaking out Garmadon himself in Season 10 when Ninjago was at stake, he also recklessly helped break out Aspheera to save Nya and owned up to it. So he is more than willing multiple times to do what he feels is the wrong thing for the greater good. Also he rejects his Oni Form because "he doesn’t want to become evil like his father" or some BS and throughout the season, he accepts the person who brought his father back like that and is arguably a much more despicable person. Another lazy aspect is why would you have Garmadon in the story at all, to train Lloyd when Lloyd is just going to reject him and The Oni at the opportunities he gets? It's lazy, if you the pay-off is Lloyd resisting temptation and Garmadon, how about not having Garmadon back at all.
@@TooSweet353 Omg. I ty;ped an entire comment and then I clicked out of the comment and it deleted erverything, so here's another one. 1. Lloyd didn;t forgive Garmadon the same way that he forgave Harumi since Lloyd believed that Harumi could be redeemed. He constantly "Threw himself" at he, trying to get her forgiveness for things tat he did which weren;t his fault. I 2. I believe that Garmadon gave Lloyd a deeper trauma then harumi did, since loyd seems more angry at Garmadons reappearance than Harumis. He constantly shouts angrily at garmadon expressing his anger towards him. 3. Lloyds onu form. Maybe lloyd didn;t want to become an Oni because he didn;t want to become like his father. We saw in season 1-2 when Garmadon was evil but not Oni fully, that he still had cares for Lloyd and all that, allowing Lloyd to save him and bring him to the light. But now that Garmadon is oni, Lloyd is unable to help garmadon, which makes Lloyd blieve that Garmadon's evil oni side makes him an unredeemable person who can't change. This is why Lloyd doesn't want to do his oni form because Lloyd believes that he'll become a pure evil being. And with the trauma that Lloyd endured because of evil oni Garmadon you can;t blame him for that. 4. Garmadon's return. Garmadon's return was gonna happen, especialy since Crystalized basically tie up all loose ends and brought bck all the characters, so of course Garmadon had to return. The bonding between father and son, ad Lloy learning mre about how his father had changed his ways was more impactful than the whole oni teaching thing. I believe that's why they brought garmadon back, to sort of give Lloyd some closure over Garmadons disappearance na dhow he was fairing. 5. Conclusion. Lloyd might accept his oni form in the future when he feels like he can control it and when his emotions and feelings about the form are rational, since now he just isn't comfortable knowing all the bad thing he can do with the oni form. However. maybe with the proper knowledge of the form, lloyd can use it for combat since he would know that he isn't evil for/by using it. Its just a form that can help him save the day, even if he does look a little bit scary while doing it. THANKS> Also sorry for all the ; instead of ' my fingers are crazy while typig and pres the wrong buttons to frequently for me to care lol. also apolozise for the spelling erros and grammar issues.

i giggled at every moment where you told lloyd "please stop trying to fix harumi", it was lowkey hilarious especially because realistically speaking all of the ninja (and maybe even harumi herself) would echo that sentiment
Thoughts on the last episode’s song? I thought Ninjago’s overture would have made more sense than Sally’s song for the ending. Felt like it was suited for Lego Friends rather than Lego Ninjago
Please tell me you are going to do a vid for season 2 of DR, I think you will like it ngl. Lloyd goes through a whole anxiety arc with a couple other things as well. Lots of fun stuff and Zane actually memorizing the realm of chaos rules is freakin hilarious.

I watched this with my sister and preceded to never watch ninjago ever again. I went through the dark times, so I now lack the motivation to catch up on 2-3 seasons
I actually like this season for bringing up a lot of references, characters AND EVEN THE WEEKEND WHIP for a nostalgic way of ending the original ninjago series, uniting everyone and just being warm. Idk why people hate this season so much. I enjoyed it! Sending love!
The only bad thing about Part 1 is that they bring Nya back so soon but the main issue with Nya in Crystalized is the direction they take her. (Sure bringing her back the next season in general is always gonna be worse than not doing so, but they went like the worst possible route is my point.) So really the blame for Nya being ruined goes to Part 2 de facto, because when Part 1 ended we all just let Nya do her thing because OBVIOUSLY she was gonna have a great arc in Part 2. Until she didn't.
Fun fact: all the fears we see that lloyd may and Zane have in sotfs come true for a bit: nya beeing powerless; lloyd in his oni form like garmadon and Zane without any emotions, only robotic
I feel like the detail of the dragon form scroll folding might be a reference to the band that made the Weekend Whip, “The Fold”. Kinda a cool one if that is the goal they had in mind
I feel like the Overlord would be a better villain if they just fully leaned into his best attribute: His creepiness and uncanniness from season 2, like that guy legitimately felt like something out of one of those paranormal reality shows. Now they actually did some of this correct this time around, as his Crystal King appearance clearly looks like an Oni version of Baphomet, whereas his dumb fucking appearance in Rebooted just looked like a grumpy old man with a literal limp and cane.
All the times the ninja tried to destroy the overlord 1 Lloyd tried to convince garmodon to not severe the overlord 2 they tried to return the Hemet of darkness to stop the final battle 3 the final battle 4 in the digiverse 5 zanes Sacrifice 6 ninjago decoded (if it is cannon) 7 Crystalized
My issue with the second half is how much it tries to give an endgame vibe while backing out every chance it got to making it work, Like the golden armor, it wouldve made more sense that the armor to have something to do with their powers, similar to the kimonos they had, dragon form, but they're not the golden ultra dragon?
Also the overlord returning is dumb. He just has infinite lives that eventually regenerate! You'll never stop him! Imagine if it was Nadakhan who Clutch Powers freed as seen in the background footage, seeking revenge
It could've been better. in the second half, we could've had: 1-The reveal that the overlord and Harumi subtly manipulated events from behind teh scenes, the new ninja being used as pawns to replace the ninja and get them out of the way 2-Harumi getting comeuppance with Lloyd finally overcoming her emotional manipulation, reprimanding her, then Harumi entering a hate fuelled tirade in an attempt to justify her actions (half played for sympathy) and Lloyd calling her out for how stupid she's been, but also sympathises with her 3-Zane NOT going Ice Emperor mode and instead that episode be Zane going to the Never-Realm to get help 4-Harumi turning against the overlord because she sees the flaws in his design and that he only cares about power, and then the Overlord reveals that he as good as killed Harumi's parents just to break and mock her 5-Lloyd combining Oni form with Dragon form for the final battle in order to cancel out the corrupting features of Oni form 6-Overall, the first half being a slightly faster pace and the second half being a slightly slower pace
It kinda makes sense for harumi to have feelings because as a child she was big fan of the ninja but when the great devour killed her parents she hated the ninja so she wanted revenge so in season 16 the overlord reaveld that he corrupted the snake which made harumi betray the overlord and now likes the ninja
To be fair Lloyd beating the overlord with the Four headed dragon was also predictable same with the ninja losing their powers they could of actually done something where Lloyd use both his Dragon and Oni side to make a form that a dragon and Oni like it doesn’t need for him to be like his father or even close but it could be like the war of Oni and Dragon coming to a end within Lloyd type of thing or how lloyd meet First Spinjitzu Master Lloyd take a form that resembles Him to defeat the overlord like yes I agree Lloyd shouldn’t give up his morals but that dosnt mean he should just reject that part of him all together just so he doesn’t become Garmadon it could of been where he find Balance between his Oni blood and Dragon blood and use it to become his own person
Crystallize is my favorite season. It’s not hated by anybody. I think other people but me I love it so much. It’s my favorite favorite favorite season.
i really hope she comes back though I feel like more people would want to know what happened to her as time goes on I do believe the controversy from Crystalized will die down and therefore want her back in the show. Tommy left the show and didn’t think Harumi is redeemable but Doc Wyatt and Kevin Burke think otherwise so now that Tommy left they are the new head writers of the show and since they like Harumi so much they are know in charge so they can do what they feel is right for her character and do something that would hopfully make most of the fandom happy or satisfy towards the end in she does appear like seasons 4 and 5 cause we are only getting season 2 this year so if it is 1 season per year and imo by the time they get to it people might change their minds on Harumi and maybe more people would want her back then before people chance their minds all the time the backslash from Crystalized would have probably died down by then like if we have season 2 this year 2024 season 3: 2025 season 4: 2026 season 5: 2027 that is a loooonnnng time away things might have improved by then at least i hope so... i feel like by then the writers would have already known what to do with Harumi and her character by the time she does return I believe Doc Wyatt and Kevin Burke know harumi's character well enough to think of a way to bring her back and all that other stuff cause but it would be nice to see her as a good guy in Dragons Rising if she were to return Like Doc Wyatt and Kevin Burke really like Harumi apparently and they also see her as a broken villain and Doc Wyatt confirmed that harumi’s feelings for Lloyd were there but they are complicated and Tommy Andrason had a whole other view point and I am guessing that is what caused the clashing writing in Crystalized cause Doc Wyatt and Kevin Burke wrote the better episodes where we see her looking guilty and wanted to redeem her you could tell they wanted to redeem her from the start but they were too many writers to have a good redemption arc but Tommy left the show and if they like her character soooo much wouldn’t that mean that they would be more willingly and likely to want to bring her back, Like I think if it were up to them they would like I said the controversy probably did a lot of speaking and decision making for them but they did not say she is dead and there are a lot of other old characters that we have not seen yet

Crysalized did not add anything new by saying harumi suddenly has feelings for lloyd I believe she did already have feelings for him long before Crystalized like right at the end of season 9 when she looks at him, lloyd looks shocked and feels pity for her in this scene and after this he goes to look for her after the building crashes need I say more about it? and when she stares back at him there is no hate in her eyes for lloyd, she is just realising then her feelings for him, if she did not have feelings for him they could have had her looking at Garmaon but now they had her looking at lloyd and having her suddenly realises her feelings for him and how he was right about casualties and people getting hurt lloyd did warn her that there would be causality and she ended up being one of those casualties she did not believe him at first but then she sees it for herself and then realises that this is not who she wants to be, I believe Harumi is lonely, she has nobody that cares about her or loves her and her birth parents are dead and her adopted parents did “care” for her but not her emotional needs and that caused her to be bitter and emotional unstable, the only one that does care about her is Lloyd, that’s why I really hope she gets redemption she has been lonely and alone for so long it’s just sad nobody but Lloyd truly gets her and understands what it’s like to loose everything, I really hope in the Dragons Rising series they will further establish these issues as well as what she did to Lloyd and she could apologize sincerely to him for all the pain she’s caused him and slowly gain his trust throughout all her episode appears, not saying they should be together but they could at least be good friends, that’s what Harumi needs a good friend, a shoulder to cry on,
@@Didntseethiscoming Long comment ahead really sorry!!! she just got revived in season 16 Crystalized and we have’nt seen her since season 9 that is like 4 years we haven’t seen her she is sooooo memorable with years of character development it would be sooo and such a shame for Harumi to be thrown out and forgotten about?!? i really want her too the writers have lots of planned writing ahead, but it would be nice to see her as a good guy in Dragons Rising if she were to return Like Doc Wyatt and Kevin Burke really like Harumi apparently and they also see her as a broken villain and Doc Wyatt confirmed that harumi’s feelings for Lloyd were there but they are complicated and Tommy Andrason had a whole other view point and I am guessing that is what caused the clashing writing in Crystalized cause Doc Wyatt and Kevin Burke wrote the better episodes where we see her looking guilty and wanted to redeem her you could tell they wanted to redeem her from the start but they were too many writers to have a good redemption arc But Tommy left the show and if they like her character soooo much wouldn’t that mean that they would be more willingly and likely to want to bring her back? i'm happy about that fact they actually thought of giving her redeeming her in the first place Tommy andrason described the writing of season 16 Crystalized was like a tug-of-war and that to me would make a lot of sense cause in one episode you would have Lloyd and Harumi hating each other and in another you would have them looking out for one another and caring for each other. Like I think if it were up to them they would like I said the controversy probably did a lot of speaking and decision making for them but they did not say she is dead and there are a lot of other old characters that we have not seen yet and it is not only Harumi but also Lloyd’s oni form and how he treated Garmadon Vs Harumi and how they are “supporting a toxic relationship” which I really don’t think that is what they were even trying to do here imo honestly why do people still say it is a toxic ship if they both want to make up? Harumi is no longer mad at lloyd now that she knows the truth and lloyd forgave harumi( i know everyone is mad about this but forgiveness does not mean you are letting this person back in your life and that does not mean you trust them and they are in the same place as they were in before. it simply means letting go of the poison and all the toxic thoughts and no longer holding onto a grudge.) so i don't see any reason why they can just move on and be friends or a couple and i hate it when people say harumi has done lot of bad things to lloyd which is true but if lloyd wants to give her another chance then its his choice so i don't see the issue and harumi is no longer mad at him and already avenged her parents by helping lloyd and Garmadon defeat the overlord so she has no reason to be a villain anymore so i don't see the harm in them trying to move on from the past and try and be friends and Nya, they gave her back her powers but they managed to fix the two of them in Dragons Rising and everyone is happy why not try and do the same to Harumi like I am taking it 50% want her back and 50% don’t want her back but if they would do it right and not make llorumi happen they could please both sides like there is gonna be controversy either way so at least show us what happened or flashback best case they just bring her back and show us where her and Lloyd stand now in their complicated relationship cause her ending in Crystalized was left pretty open-ended like you can’t just leave THAT up to interpretation like too big of a gap to guess if we need to know what happened like seasons 4 and 5
When i first saw oni Lloyd i theorized that he may achieve this form by using his desire to do create a safer world. (yes i know oni destroy but, in order to create something you must first destroy something to make room to create it. Think about the aftermath of a vulcanic eruption beneath al that death there is life)
At the end Harumi doesn’t get it arrested they’re help building because of the tools in their hands and I don’t know about you but I don’t see any hand cuffs
the overlord kinda makes sense as well he is evil but since the first spinjitzu master is dead wu is the representative of the first spinjitzu master Random fact about Ninjago, Wu is the representative of the first spinjitzu master while Garmadon is the representative of the overlord
My only issues with this season is some of the filler, The Mechanic, and Skull Sorcerer being there when Nadakhan and Clouse would have been better choices, and Harumi being actually interested in Lloyd now.
My 3rd favourite season is crystallised why everyone hate it (first and second are hands of time and masters of spinjitzu) (also the season could have definitely been better if they used the original writing which was: nya didn’t come back straight away but later in the season and the way that happened was Lloyd would kill the crystal king and he would become the new villain and nya (as the dragon) would fight evil Lloyd and she would win freeing Lloyd and the series ends (in between the nya not returning and Lloyd being evil would just have been the normal way the season went without nya being there)
omg i have something similar in mind!!! Tommy Andrason said he wanted to leave all of the characters in a happy place cause he was leaving and therefore ninjago can start anew again as everything is at peace i can see where he is coming from i did like the happy ending although the other ending the original could have been really good as well lloyd taking the place of the Crystal King and having the ninja and harumi off course try to bring him back to normal having the ninja remind lloyd of the good times and harumi admitting her wrong doings and apologizes and how she always liked him and cared for him but felt conflicted and that he is a good person and this is not him and lloyd can struggle and harumi adds on that he is strong and that he has always been strong and resilient everything she could not be but wants to try and become and how he is a real hero and then he struggles once more so harumi goes in for a hug (not a kiss cause that would cause controversy) and then the other ninjas join in and he returns to his regular self off course breaking down and apologizing for what he has done and off course having Master Wu and Garmadon die for real this time and then they all clean up the monstary or something like that what do u think? i think this is the type of ending most people probably would wanted cause the trailer made the season look like there would be consequences and endgame style so yeah and harumi and lloyd would make a deal with the commissioner that she would help with the monstary and then go to jail what do u think? therefore it is like a combination happy ending and angst what do u think?
I’ve been hearing a lot of Crystalized hate from so many different Ninjago reviews and it made me think of a few ways you can improve the season. 1. Make Nya come back at the end of the season for the final battle. But rather than her powers being gone, she learns to shift between her human form and her ocean form. Also make the reason she comes back be that she remembers the Ying Yang promise she made to Jay in March of the Oni. 2. Make Pixal a more active player since Nya is gone. 3. Make the Crystal Council enemies who serve as personal threats to each Ninja. Plus if the Overlord was still the main villain, he could bring in villains from across time who have not perished. If that were to happen my Crystal Council would be Pythor (for Lloyd), Nadakan (for Jay), Skull Sorcerer (for Cole), General Kryptor (for Zane), Aspheera (for Wu), and finally the Time Twins (for Kai). 4. Have Harumi return not as herself but rather as a Crystal creation of the Overlord. Who was made specifically to obey his every command but also shares the memories of the other Harumi. And rather than her just being randomly redeemed, the fake Harumi turns on the Overlord after learning about the Great Devourer and she is eventually destroyed for turning against her master. 5. Have Lloyd and Garmadon on equal terms who help each other in the battle against the council. Heck, have Garmadon teach Lloyd about the Oni stats and how he can control it like he has done. 6. Have the final battle be about the Ninja finding the balance just like the first Spinjitzu master did rather than just focusing on creation to defeat destruction. We all have a light and darkness inside us after all. Sorry to have rambled on about Crystalized. I just see potential in it. Maybe I should do a rewrite of Crystalized one day
My main Problem with this season is Harumi sacrificed herself and then proceeded to still be a villain for whatever reason like why go through that character moment and still have her be the bad guy or girl
In my opinion, we shouldve had another season between seabound and crystalized, it would have solved the issue of nya coming back too soon and it wouldve been able to finish all the important story lines going on in seabound so that crystalized wouldve been the propper send off it shouldve been, maybe a fitting storyline could have been focusing on allot of side characters like nelson, darreth, vanya and skylor and maybe also some small glimps of what the villains in crystalized were doing.
as bad as crystalized is, due to many unexplained missing plots 'n such like for example how lloyd didn't embrace and feared his oni powers yet got proven by mystake and even garmadon that oni can be good, but aside from that. I think we can all agree that garmadon saved this season, he was practically perfect.
I feel like it would’ve been cooler if Jay and Cole wore silver armour! And it would be cute if Kai ask Skylor to be his yang! And it would be cool if the ninja’s dragon forms were like their true potential! Imagine the way the ninja unlock their dragon form is just like them unlock their true potential! And it be cool Lloyd embraced his dragon side and uses it to fight the overlord, but at the end when his father dies, he would switch from his dragon form to oni form! And it would be cool for Nya to learn how to be a ninja without powers, that would be an excellent character arc for Nya because crystalized showed us how useless Nya is without her powers, and it would be cool if the ninja merged into the golden ultra dragon or maybe oni Lloyd can use the four golden weapons since he has four arms and create the golden ultra dragon to defeat the overlord and it would be cool for Lloyd embrace both dragon and only side! And at the end I just want Lloyd to snap at Harumi since he believes his father’s dead and because she was the one who released the overlord! So NO!! SHE’S NOT WITH US!!! (i’m looking at you, Lloyd…) so yeah that’s how I would improve crystallized!
I think it makes sense Pythor had Jay’s nujunks bc Pythor took out the ninjas by outsmarting them in s1 and jay was still standing bro took the elevator the smartest character in ninjago💀
In my personal opinion asides from nia coming back crystallized was a good show and the overlord coming back i don’t think it was bad at all he’s been gone for 12-13 seasons and was meant to be a final boss of the show though I will agree on some things like they shouldn’t have had the season go as long after the wu fight and that I feel making the overlord actually have a belief that conflicts with the ninjas while also in the end wanting the same end result which would be peace in ninjago would’ve been great instead of a one off line where he says there will be peace in the dark and with the council not really having weapons that all fit then (python)but I give the season an 8/10 could’ve been better due to missed opportunity (mainly the overlord not being fully developed)
I find crystallized to be a great season outside of it's story telling, it had top tier visuals, animation and action too, but the story was ass and it drags the season down heavily. Most people say that part 1 was a lot better than part 2 but to be honest, i really dont think any of the parts was better than the other.

Yo dat's what I was literally thinking while watching crystallized as the ninja could just go to Ray and Maya to get some chronosteel to absorb them

I am so glad Dragons Rising is fixing my problems with Crystalized and taking their time
We can be glad, everyone is alive.
That's interesting, because the season went uphill for me after the episode with Wu's fight. Like, very uphill.
@RobertJames-i8j True
I'd say the whole Lloyd oni form plot could have been soo much better if they did one thing, TAKE A CUE FROM DEVIL MAY CRY
specifically Dante's arc in Devil May Cry 3 is having to accept both his human and demon sides as part of himself as he'd spent the whole first act rejecting his demon side and only used it after Vergil defeated him while in the finale Dante was able to defeat Vergil after accepting both sides of himself compared to Vergil who considered his humanity a weakness to be cast aside leading to him losing, it even caused him to lose against Nero is DMC5 who had just awakened his own demon form and won because he used his human emotions (in this case his drive to stop Vergil, his father, and Dante, his uncle, from killing each other) to fuel his Devil trigger
I think what they should have done is have Lloyd transform back as normal with the overlord taunting him about how he became just like the oni from season 10, who only care about and fight for themselves, only for Lloyd to remember both Mystake and Garmadon who both were oni but who used their power to protect what they loved, how Mystake loved the land she called home and Garmadon despite having his humanity removed still fought to save his son, and upon remembering this, Lloyd transforms back into his oni form and says that while that is part of himself, he isn't fighting for himself, he fights to protect what he loves, his home, his family, his friends, just like Mystake and Garmadon did before him, that this side of him isn't being used to destroy, but to protect, they could even have Lloyd ride the golden ultra dragon as normal just in his oni form symbolizing his acceptance of all sides of his heritage, his oni side, his dragon side, and his humanity fueling both, plus it would still be really hype which is the point of a grand finale like this
I honestly liked The Benefit of Grief.
Third end: march of the oni is also considered the end for some
It is for me

No season would hold up under the level of scrutiny that crystallized gets. There are goofs like this in even the best Ninjago seasons
Here are the reasons why Lloyd not accepting his oni Form is wrong
1. No selfacceptance
2. Using it to fight for the greater good. Nya didn't wanted to merge with the sea, but she did it to save Ninjago. So why can't Lloyd just confront his fear for the greater good. He didn't know there is another way to defeat the Overlord, him becoming an oni was the only chance in his head
Its just a form that can help him save the day, even if he does look a little bit scary while doing it.

i feel like i'm the only one who liked Crystalized and liked harumi being redeemed but yeah like everyone i totally agree IT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DONE IN ONE EPISODE LET ALONG 30 SECONDS OR SOMETHING?????? it should have been through the course of the season and ep 17 Return to Prievel's eye was the perfect time to shine some light on this and have her begin that path of redemption i really really thought they were gonna do this but no...they didn't yeah i do agree she is a pretty controversial character especially her portrayal in Crystallized i mean i always thought that 50% of the fandom didn't like her and 50% of the fandom loved her that's what it looked like to me (thought the controversy of her portrayal in Crystalized would die down by now i mean it has been 2 years already!!!)

It's not my favourite but it's a good season definitely a top 10 season
I kinda liked it. It is objectively bad in almost every aspect so I agree with that but I enjoyed it and the overlord was cool.
i giggled at every moment where you told lloyd "please stop trying to fix harumi", it was lowkey hilarious especially because realistically speaking all of the ninja (and maybe even harumi herself) would echo that sentiment
29:14: Hmm, interesting take on Lloyd's oni form Tom.

"And Pythor gets the nunchucks of lightning because there is nothing else" LOL
Bro got the nunchucks of lightning because he had to use those lightning fishy things
Technically the 3rd the original ending is season 2
Also the overlord returning is dumb. He just has infinite lives that eventually regenerate! You'll never stop him!
Imagine if it was Nadakhan who Clutch Powers freed as seen in the background footage, seeking revenge
Him: Resisitance is Lloyd's middle name
Me: IT'S MONTGOMARY
i have to confess that i really like crystalized sets and have all of them
It could've been better. in the second half, we could've had:
1-The reveal that the overlord and Harumi subtly manipulated events from behind teh scenes, the new ninja being used as pawns to replace the ninja and get them out of the way
2-Harumi getting comeuppance with Lloyd finally overcoming her emotional manipulation, reprimanding her, then Harumi entering a hate fuelled tirade in an attempt to justify her actions (half played for sympathy) and Lloyd calling her out for how stupid she's been, but also sympathises with her
3-Zane NOT going Ice Emperor mode and instead that episode be Zane going to the Never-Realm to get help
4-Harumi turning against the overlord because she sees the flaws in his design and that he only cares about power, and then the Overlord reveals that he as good as killed Harumi's parents just to break and mock her
5-Lloyd combining Oni form with Dragon form for the final battle in order to cancel out the corrupting features of Oni form
6-Overall, the first half being a slightly faster pace and the second half being a slightly slower pace
It kinda makes sense for harumi to have feelings because as a child she was big fan of the ninja but when the great devour killed her parents she hated the ninja so she wanted revenge so in season 16 the overlord reaveld that he corrupted the snake which made harumi betray the overlord and now likes the ninja
14:16 she has too many kids Zane need to get a job to support them
LOL
'It's not hated by anybody' yeah, about that...
I ship Llorumi but harumi’s redemption arc was forced.
i really hope she comes back though I feel like more people would want to know what happened to her as time goes on I do believe the controversy from Crystalized will die down and therefore want her back in the show. Tommy left the show and didn’t think Harumi is redeemable but Doc Wyatt and Kevin Burke think otherwise so now that Tommy left they are the new head writers of the show and since they like Harumi so much they are know in charge so they can do what they feel is right for her character and do something that would hopfully make most of the fandom happy or satisfy towards the end in she does appear like seasons 4 and 5 cause we are only getting season 2 this year so if it is 1 season per year and imo by the time they get to it people might change their minds on Harumi and maybe more people would want her back then before people chance their minds all the time the backslash from Crystalized would have probably died down by then like if we have season 2 this year 2024
season 3: 2025
season 4: 2026
season 5: 2027
that is a loooonnnng time away things might have improved by then at least i hope so... i feel like by then the writers would have already known what to do with Harumi and her character by the time she does return I believe Doc Wyatt and Kevin Burke know harumi's character well enough to think of a way to bring her back and all that other stuff cause but it would be nice to see her as a good guy in Dragons Rising if she were to return Like Doc Wyatt and Kevin Burke really like Harumi apparently and they also see her as a broken villain and Doc Wyatt confirmed that harumi’s feelings for Lloyd were there but they are complicated and Tommy Andrason had a whole other view point and I am guessing that is what caused the clashing writing in Crystalized cause Doc Wyatt and Kevin Burke wrote the better episodes where we see her looking guilty and wanted to redeem her you could tell they wanted to redeem her from the start but they were too many writers to have a good redemption arc but Tommy left the show and if they like her character soooo much wouldn’t that mean that they would be more willingly and likely to want to bring her back, Like I think if it were up to them they would like I said the controversy probably did a lot of speaking and decision making for them but they did not say she is dead and there are a lot of other old characters that we have not seen yet

Hot take if harumi had slowly fallen in love over time leading up to the finally it would have been good
@Didntseethiscoming
At the end of season 9 after she saved a family she and Lloyd shared a gaze and she could have looked at Garmadon but she didn’t she looked at Lloyd and she she had the look of regret, guilt and realization of Lloyd being right all along, she had just witnessed history repeating itself, children losing their parents like she did all those years ago, Lloyd warned her about this but she ignored it until it was shown right in front of her. Lloyd even said her nickname ‘Rumi’ before the building slowly feel down Like right before Cystalized. Crysalized did not add anything new by saying harumi suddenly has feelings for lloyd I believe she did already have feelings for him long before Crystalized like right at the end of season 9 when she looks at him, lloyd looks shocked and feels pity for her in this scene and after this he goes to look for her after the building crashes need I say more about it? and when she stares back at him there is no hate in her eyes for lloyd, she is just realising then her feelings for him, if she did not have feelings for him they could have had her looking at Garmaon but now they had her looking at lloyd and having her suddenly realises her feelings for him and how he was right about casualties and people getting hurt lloyd did warn her that there would be causality and she ended up being one of those casualties she did not believe him at first but then she sees it for herself and then realises that this is not who she wants to be,
I believe Harumi is lonely, she has nobody that cares about her or loves her and her birth parents are dead and her adopted parents did “care” for her but not her emotional needs and that caused her to be bitter and emotional unstable, the only one that does care about her is Lloyd, that’s why I really hope she gets redemption she has been lonely and alone for so long it’s just sad nobody but Lloyd truly gets her and understands what it’s like to loose everything, I really hope in the Dragons Rising series they will further establish these issues as well as what she did to Lloyd and she could apologize sincerely to him for all the pain she’s caused him and slowly gain his trust throughout all her episode appears, not saying they should be together but they could at least be good friends, that’s what Harumi needs a good friend, a shoulder to cry on,
@@adenweiner5573 you have an excellent point but I would have thought that it would have taken more time that is my opinion and yours is also valid

Long comment ahead really sorry!!!
she just got revived in season 16 Crystalized and we have’nt seen her since season 9 that is like 4 years we haven’t seen her she is sooooo memorable with years of character development it would be sooo and such a shame for Harumi to be thrown out and forgotten about?!? i really want her too the writers have lots of planned writing ahead, but it would be nice to see her as a good guy in Dragons Rising if she were to return Like Doc Wyatt and Kevin Burke really like Harumi apparently and they also see her as a broken villain and Doc Wyatt confirmed that harumi’s feelings for Lloyd were there but they are complicated and Tommy Andrason had a whole other view point and I am guessing that is what caused the clashing writing in Crystalized cause Doc Wyatt and Kevin Burke wrote the better episodes where we see her looking guilty and wanted to redeem her you could tell they wanted to redeem her from the start but they were too many writers to have a good redemption arc But Tommy left the show and if they like her character soooo much wouldn’t that mean that they would be more willingly and likely to want to bring her back? i'm happy about that fact they actually thought of giving her redeeming her in the first place Tommy andrason described the writing of season 16 Crystalized was like a tug-of-war and that to me would make a lot of sense cause in one episode you would have Lloyd and Harumi hating each other and in another you would have them looking out for one another and caring for each other. Harumi is no longer mad at lloyd now that she knows the truth and lloyd forgave harumi( i know everyone is mad about this but forgiveness does not mean you are letting this person back in your life and that does not mean you trust them and they are in the same place as they were in before. it simply means letting go of the poison and all the toxic thoughts and no longer holding onto a grudge.)
so i don't see any reason why they can just move on and be friends or a couple and i hate it when people say harumi has done lot of bad things to lloyd which is true but if lloyd wants to give her another chance then its his choice so i don't see the issue and harumi is no longer mad at him and already avenged her parents by helping lloyd and Garmadon defeat the overlord so she has no reason to be a villain anymore so i don't see the harm in them trying to move on from the past and try and be friends and Nya, they gave her back her powers but they managed to fix the two of them in Dragons Rising and everyone is happy why not try and do the same to Harumi like I am taking it 50% want her back and 50% don’t want her back but if they would do it right and not make llorumi happen they could please both sides like there is gonna be controversy either way so at least show us what happened or flashback best case they just bring her back and show us where her and Lloyd stand now in their complicated relationship cause her ending in Crystalized was left pretty open-ended like you can’t just leave THAT up to interpretation like too big of a gap to guess if we need to know what happened like seasons 4 and 5

8:23 Fujidove is not to be disrespected
Maybe I should do a rewrite of Crystalized one day
Hey fun little thing. I translated Dareths billboard and it actually has a phone number on it.
I just wished Lloyd defeated the Overlord with his Oni form, that would've been epic and perfect
Crystallized: A great beginning, but a bad ending.
Honestly the only good thing to come out of this season that had absolutely zero negatives to it was the design of the Crystal King
And also the intro

In my personal opinion asides from nia coming back crystallized was a good show and the overlord coming back i don’t think it was bad at all he’s been gone for 12-13 seasons and was meant to be a final boss of the show though I will agree on some things like they shouldn’t have had the season go as long after the wu fight and that I feel making the overlord actually have a belief that conflicts with the ninjas while also in the end wanting the same end result which would be peace in ninjago would’ve been great instead of a one off line where he says there will be peace in the dark and with the council not really having weapons that all fit then (python)but I give the season an 8/10 could’ve been better due to missed opportunity (mainly the overlord not being fully developed)
next video, "March of The Oni: The 1 1/2 ending"
I find crystallized to be a great season outside of it's story telling, it had top tier visuals, animation and action too, but the story was ass and it drags the season down heavily. Most people say that part 1 was a lot better than part 2 but to be honest, i really dont think any of the parts was better than the other.
