The best thing about being a widower is, I have total control of what foods are in my house. So if I need a snack its sardines, raspberries or walnuts. I'm also doing a weekly 36 hour fast as I have found this method works great for me for weight loss/control.

I have quite recently, over the internet, come across a toxin called oxilate. I'm no doctor, but apparently, oxolates are plants way to defend them selves from being eaten. Raspberries and many nuts are filled with oxilats. ☹ I love nuts and enjoy raspberries. You may want to inform yourself about this toxin. All the best, and I hope I'm haven't invaded your privacy too much.

Dr. Geo, I here's a data point for you. First, I'm 74 years old, and 6 ft tall. I've been over 230 lbs. since 1998. I was diagnosed with NAFLD in 1999, so I quit drinking soda and fruit juice drinks and tried every diet known to man since then. I had no success losing weight, reaching 310 lbs. by 2015. I had an L3/L4/L5 fusion in 2015, so then I tried a fasting schedule of 16/8 and got down to 285 by 2018. This year in June, I had a C3/C4/C5/C6 fusion which interrupted my exercise routine. Since July, I've been on a carnivore diet, eating grass fed beef, grass fed cheese, free range chickens, pasture raised eggs, wild caught fish (salmon, sardines, and mackerel) and using a protein supplement with BCCA's. I don't eat anything with sugar, no processed foods, very few carbohydrates (cooked spinach, asparagus, and brockley), and I've gone back to the gym for very light resistance training and using resistance bands. I also walk about a mile a day. I increased my fasting schedule to 18/6 eating two meals between 2pm and 8pm. All my blood work has been normal including my lipid panel, and I have a 0.5 PSA score. Since my Neck surgery in June, I've come down from 285 to 255. My end goal is to be under 200 a year from now. I haven't seen any ill effects from this lifestyle yet.

I am 70, also have prostate cancer, had a prostatectomy but the cancer had spread outside. My doctor said my PSA would slowly rise and we could soon do an MRI to see where it was. However, I switched from a standard diet to Keto, then to all meat Carnivore. I added extensive exercise twice a day, and took Berberine and metformin to try to down regulate MTOR. My PSA dropped to zero for nine straight months. It came back at a very low level right after I got Covid, but hasn’t risen at all since. I also switched to an intermittent fasting schedule, 18/6, and added a two-day water-only fast from Wednesday night to Friday night. It has been hard to stick with all of this but seems to be working.

@melindanielsen3106 Do your homework and trust urologists the least. 3.7 is not necessarily too high. Size of prostate, age, inflammation, and other things effect the number. Gleason 6 doesn't metastasize, so careful with urgent calls for prostatectomy or radiation. Continence and sexual function will never be the same. I've had this 10 years, treated conservatively in 2015 that failed, and still kicking. PCRI on TH-cam is the best for conventional treatment advise, and fenbendezole for cancer fb group for alternative approaches.

I have changed my diet eliminating all processed carbs and most oils. I still cook steak with avocado oil and butter. I had been eating like keto with veggies and salad. So much that nearly all other civilized countries of the world have banned them from all grocery stores and still provide the same products without the dangerous ingredients. If you want to eat carbs, try not to eat more than 2 and the ones that are low in the sugar index.

Every male in my family medical history has died from prostrate cancer. Dad, brothers, uncles, etc. as far back as we can trace. I'm 70 and cancer free as of now, which is unusual for our family predisposition genetic blueprint. I agree with everything Doc Geo has said in this video and live the lifestyle of moderate strength training 3 or 4 times per week, walk a mile or two everyday, occasionally moderate walk/jog 5k train, skip meals for 12 to 18 hours generally once each week, eat 80% fresh or cooked veggies, 20% chicken, seafood and 15 to 25 oz high quality red meat weekly. Been doing this for 10 years and occasionally carb out on pizza or other "junk" about once per month. I drink 1.5 quarts of water generally each day. As doc say's it's not a religion and I bounce around these parameters weekly but not to far off the "reservation." Once you get past the initial few months it's not that hard and cravings go away for the most part. I have a mid dairy allergy as did my dad so I stay away from that as much as possible. If I have dairy it is followed by a bout of BPH symptoms. My PSA has bounced around between 6 and 8 for 10 years. I have a tri-view guided biopsy every two years. Last one was in 2022 so I'm due next year. I have this because of the family history. I am quite active but my movements and trainings are moderate. No alcohol, it gives me BPH symptoms. When I stay away for dairy and alcohol my urine flow is fine. I sleep 8 to 10 hours each night. Dr. Geo's presentation here is the best and most reasonable I've see on TH-cam. One last thing, I stay off of caffeine as it makes my vision blurry for a couple hours after I drink it, so it's not prostrate related but some say it's best to stay away from it for prostate reasons. Thank you so much for your wisdom, research, understanding and diligence Dr. Geo! I believe if men follow what you "preach" they will benefit greatly, not just in prostrate health but many other ways regarding quality of life.

I'm right there with you a good 95% but cannot get behind something like regular biopsies when you have not other signs like from a scan. My urologist bugged me for 3 MRIs worth tho they showed no evidence of cancer. My PSA was around 12.5 but had dropped to 10 and my last one almost 6 months ago was 14.9 dropped down from 16.9 a year prior.
I finally made the overnight trip to get a special hi-rez MRI and it came back showing nothing other than enlargement at 64cc. An ultrasound I had last Jan now puts my prostate size at 47.5cc due I think to adding lycopene, extra saw palmetto and added omega 3 via salmon oil, hemp hearts and extra virgin olive oil. A sardine sandwich once a week too. I had noticed my LUTS were even better but was surprised about the reduction in size.
I'm 70 in Oct and most likely do have prostate cancer of the very slow kind which is the vast majority of all of them. Without some visible tumour or other irregularity in a scan there is no way I would submit to an invasive procedure like a biopsy. I was adopted and have no info about my birth father's side of the equation tho I did make contact with my birth mother's family to find out she never told them about me and was diagnosed with dementia at age 65 dying of it at age 75 just 6 months before I made contact. I'm much more concerned about losing my mind from dementia than I am about my prostate costing me my life. So far so good with both.

As I've been animal based for over 2 years now, my poops are the easiest it's ever been. I add veges and carbs, and my stomach bloats, and my poops are harder to pass. So I'm sticking to animal based, I feel amazing, and my poops are amazing😊

I've lost 25lbs, which I definitely did not need to loose, how can I get enough calories to maintain my weight and strength? I am 6' tall and used to weigh 182 to 185lbs.
This was with approximately 3 to 4% body fat from age 25 to 65. Now, at age 68, after being diagnosed with prostate cancer and changing my eating habits, I weigh 159lbs. I ate a lot but, if you looked at me, nobody thought I ate too much. With my 10 mile morning run and my weight lifting at night, how do I get enough calories with intermittent fasting to not become a skeleton? Loosing weight and strength rapidly.

I’ve found your advice very practical. As I’ve grown older, I realized I’ll need more protein in my diet. I’m now 76. I used to be a natural bodybuilder but was never into eating much meat. Nevertheless I occasional enjoy beef or chicken, like maybe once every three months or so. And I never used to like eating fish. However I realized I had to make a lifestyle change and I now make fish-head broth. Google it’s benefits. It’s supposed to be super good. I think it is without adding weight to your body. And since I’m much older now, I exercise with light dumbbells with emphasis on concentration and resistance. Dr. Ego’s lecture makes me feel as if I’m doing the right thing. I urge everyone, including my fellow seniors to get off the couch- that is, if some of them are not working out and trying to do the right thing, to follow the good doctor’s advice. Eggs are good for you, and the hate on eggs is nonsense. They're one of the healthiest foods. The same for red meat. Vegetables are optional, and can be useful tools, or they can be harmful. Consider the practices of bodybuilders, who strategically cut and build, utilizing protein for energy. In my experience with Olympic lifting, I’ve noticed increased energy, and my body does reflect my dietary choices. It’s a holistic approach encompassing diet, exercise, and individual responses. If you’d like more insights or have further questions, feel free to ask! 💪🥦 I think that our tired choices like I said are going to reflect in how we look, I mean look at these bodybuilders they’re ripped I don’t wanna go as low as body fat as someone like that, but man, I’m strong muscle is metabolically demanding, and we need protein, and I certainly love bread, meat myself

You can do fasting in so many ways, beginning with one day in the week.

@@dominictucci6030Yes thank you. I read the same article by a guy named huggins I believe. I have prostate cancer and they all talk about hormone treatment. It's all a farmer suitable conspiracy. All the doctors pushed this medication on people because there's big money involved. Incredibly huge amount of money. So keep feeding your patience our medicines. If these three don't work well..... Try these three. What nonsense.

I understand that the number of ashtrays in your home correlates strongly with lung cancer incidence. I have eliminated all ashtrays from my home so can I now feel safe from lung cancer?

@@DrGeoProstatePodcast The point is that correlation does not mean causation. We know that a vegetable based diet correlates with better prostate cancer outcomes but those who eat a vegetable based diet also more closely follow a healthier lifestyle. How do we know it's the vegetable based diet that's responsible for better cancer outcomes and not those other lifestyle choices?

Meat and diary. Full of IGF-1
Feeds cancer of any sort, research says. So much information overload out there, dont know what to believe. Ive just been possible diagnosed with possible prostate cancer from DRE & MRI. Getting a second opinion from another urologist. Trying to avoid biopsy if possible.
My PSA is only 2.5. I'm 66 in two months. Plus, prostate volume is 56 cc🤔
Most urologist, right away, wants to jump right into biopsies.😕
Nevertheless, I'm cutting meat and diary consumption back some. I've been eating alot of yogurt too.
    P.S.
Also, just to mention. I'm on hormone replacement therapy. Testosterone cypionate. Have been for 10 years now. Wonder if that has anything to do with my prostate issues?
10 years ago, my test levels were low. Around 200.

I'm just going to wait 6 months, and check PSA again. It's only 2.5 from a reading 2 months ago. I rechecked it again last week. Got a reading of 2.7.
No biopsies for me, unless it goes over 4.0

Do a bit of reading on IGF-1. Like many things, there’s context. Too little just as bad in some circumstances. Also the studies find different outcome in us older folks. Regular exercise also offsets IGF longer term

One more point about IGF-1, context….meat raises it somewhat, but exercise bumps it twenty fold temporarily….but in the long term it lowers it.

From your explanation - and I am not playing doctor on the internet here - I don't think you need a biopsy. But I can be missing something. And you probably can stay on T. Consider a urine test like ExoDx. Good luck.
