I had prostate biopsy with the tube and the snapping needle I took the antibiotics when I got up off of the table I felt faint ready to pass out I left went home and that night I was sick and vomited The next day I had chills the next day I had fever I did not know what to do or what to expect I was sick for one week I went into the office feeling like I was 35 years old I came out of the office feeling like I was 80 years old It was miserable experience I lost 10 lb I went to my regular doctor who prescribed strong antibiotics and I believe that took care of the infection I do not recommend being poked with needles through your colon and into your prostate to infect it with all of that dirty stuff I am still not 100%, but I do feel better and I am now peeing every 30 or 40 minutes but that was not the case before

I just had a Transrectal MRI Infused Biopsy of my Prostate five days ago. Only a coiple days of blood in my urine. No fever from infection. Still waiting on test results. This show was a great followup to watch as it answered some question i still had. For example how long to wait for a new PSA test. My last PSA was 5.04 and the MRI did inicate two small nodules new the base of the prostate. Thanks again for a great show.

I had my 2d biopsy, done the way this guy describes 2 weeks ago. They could not push me out the door faster, blood leaking from me everywhere. I was in the ER that night having to have a catheter, which itself clogged with blood.
Biopsies are barbaric and now unnecessary. “Gold standard” only in that there are doctors raking in gold putting men at risk.
6 monthes after you recorded this show you had a London doctor explain that PSAR-PET scans are more reliable. It is unfathomable that Urologist in the USA are still pushing this barbarism for profit.

I have a diagnosis PIRADS 4 on my MRI, I NEED A BIOPSY PERIOD TO target my lesion to see if it is indeed PC. Do I roll the dice and not get one? My 4K PSA test score and EXOdx urine test also show a higher probability.

Which one did you have done? PSMA PET scan will tell you whether you have cancer, you will still need a biopsy to see what grade it is. Transrectal is barbaric....

This practice is barbaric I would be interested to know the amount of malpractice lawsuits related to injury. Also I think the point by reading the comments a lot of men are missing it’s just because they identify a cancer with the MRI guided ultrasonic or whatever still there is a very low chance that is a metastatic cancer and didn’t needed to be messed with which leads to more injury. I have been going down this path due to my new primary care doctor sneaking a PSA test in then trying to scare me to go to the urologist which I did and the DRE came back normal with a PSA of 6.2 and no velocity after eight months it actually went down slightly. Then the urologist kept sending messages that I had a very high PSA number for a man of my age and wanting to do the procedures which will ultimately lead to a biopsy even though I’m asymptomatic. This is a dishonest practice and an insult to the medical profession. Very good video that every man in this situation should see by the man who is responsible for discovering PSA , Dr Alvin I think ? He makes a very convincing argument that PSA is a terrible test and should be abandoned like it was once before the FDA became partners with the medical community because of money given back to them in the hundreds of millions of dollars. They only save one person per thousand that means 999 go to unnecessary barbaric procedures not to mention the money in the psychological impact. Don’t let these gold digging doctors scare you and avoid PSA testing especially if you’re asymptomatic. Good luck guys be responsible for your own health and don’t be afraid to push back just because a man has two letters after his name.

My Urologist did a finger check and said my prostate was not abnormal size but because my PSA was 5.5 he recommended a Transrectal Biopsy. I want to say my PSA was 5 years ago but not sure. Kind of on the fence on this I’m 59 no Prostate Cancer in our family.

    Doctor,
My husband is 73; he doesn't want to go biopsy.
    His MRI reveals PIRADS-2 lesion.
    1. First test: PSA total shows 16.57* ng/ml
    2. Second test: psa total shows 10.700 ng/ml
    3. After a gap of 3 months
    Shows psa 7.500 ng/ml
    What's your suggestion Doctor, please🙏

I am an engineer/ inventor. I graduated from Utah State in Aero Tech. in 1955 and Industrial Engineering at Cal Poly in 1964. I have completed training programs at Weyerhaeuser in management, Vickers in Hydraulics and TRW in steering systems.
My bed wetting problem at age 12 was cured by Dr Temple, in Moab, in 1950 with a vitamin called Multi Cebrium. I figured out my back pain problem in the 70's was dairy products. Dr. Miller at Swedish hospital in Seattle suggested ViconC. I am active, I play volleyball, ski the black diamonds, kayak, backpack, hunt, fish and . do pack rafting. I have also been very sexually active until I hit 80. My latest PCP, is a PA and recommended B12. It has caused my getting up every two hours to pee. And, a "up the butt" pain. I have had two TURPS and a biopsy indicating a cancer in the fourth quadrant. which has been hanging over my head at every PSA check for almost twenty years.

Biopsies are risky snd damaging snd frequently do not detect prostate cancer. Why aren't MRI or PET scans used instead?
