Answer to hw ques: a
Reason( as per me)
1. I- is formed and us soluble
2. Sio2 is a 3d polymer and hence wont react
3. Benzene thus formed is insoluble
4. Cahpo3 is also insoluble.

Sir these 5-min chem. are truly gems ...sir can you give an exhaustive review on fajan rule, its always a controversy where to apply it and where not.
Can you give example of a molecule for which you can not decide whether the rule is applicable or not !
PARAG TRIVEDI I don’t mean its not applicable , its just sometimes you see a question and think that fajan rule will be applicable but you find out its not.... so just to clearise things not to understand ‘em
Can you give example of such a question? If you can not find such a question form a q . by yourself and I will understand.
PARAG TRIVEDI LiCl is more soluble in pyridine than in H2O. Why? Confusion in Fazan and hydration concept ...I think you should get it by this question.
There is no question of hydration when it dissolves in pyridine. Solubility in pyridine is as per Fajan's.
Poor water solubility is also as per Fajan's. It has some covalent character which decreases its water solubility and increases solubility in org. solvents like pyridine.
The question of hydration arises only if it ionises into cation and anion but covalent character does not allow it to ionise.(in pyridine it dissolves without ionisation).
