i do agree because i am exactly same as the student sir is talking about previously i also used to study ncert as guided by various other teachers and seniors and ended up scoring less marks in chem 40 marks or so i got 89.3 perentile in first then i started to atudy many more things i got 97 percentile...so now i have taken a drop i am preparing online from some kota institite and now i understand ncert is secondary book after once you have done ur preparation and you are once gone through ur syllabus by ur teacher

Yes sir,you are absolutely right, Ncert specially science is not a base book for new students,Its just for revision book.I've experienced it since 9th class.
I prepared for JEE in 2011-12, 2 months before exams I felt that NCERT is all about rattafication. Infact our coaching teacher told us that there is no common sense used is chemistry, there are only exceptions and facts, this statement was really frustrating. Iam from a rular background and I too accept that there are very few teachers, less tha 5% who will teach you chemistry in physics style. Chemistry is a great subject and pure applied science and we need teachers who promotes chemistry as a subject to be taught logically.

I still remember waking up at 4:30 AM and going to SM sir's extra class at 5 AM at Resonance in Feb'17.He was unable to take classes whole year due to his heart conditions. The energy in the class, the energy of SM sir for reading the most dreaded Inorganic chemistry was phenomenal . It is totally true. I am agree with you sir. If a student follows only ncert book he will only pass but can't achieve a good marks. For more knowledge and for getting total Marks we should follow reference book along with ncert👍..
I am presently in ALLEN KOTA, It has been 4 months and our IOC of class 11th has finished by now and believe it or not......our teacher taught us everything from scratch and 100 times better than NCERT Without even mentioning its name even once......
NCERT Chemistry is golden for basics. On top of that you will have to follow your coaching class topics plus questions plus last year questions. For Inorganic, NCERT is enough.

For inorganic chemistry Ncert is must you literally should memorise every single word for Jee mains and Neet. Physical chemistry from Ncert would we good and complete for Neet only and good but slightly incomplete for Jee mains. For organic Ncert is not even 20% for Jee mains or Neet.
