The green milk is the one I had first, and it was okay, but I gave almost all of it to my kids who seemed to not care what it tasted like. But when I had the blue milk some time later I thought it was so much better than than green milk I wanted the whole thing myself. I'm not sure if it's because I had the green milk to compare it to, or if I wouldn't have liked it either if I had it first, but I do think I'd genuinely get it again, so I think I just like it. I have only gotten it the once, though.
Plaza Inn chicken is delicious 😋, anything at hungry bear is really good, grave or grey stuff(dessert) is so good too. I have to try the ronto wraps at galaxys edge. Riverbell food is okay I dont think ill go back there.😂
My favorite of the Grey Stuff's is the St. Patrick's version because it's mint (the green one in the video). I'm hoping it makes its return again this year.
I have some old reviews for different restaurants, but nothing definitive like this guide for Downtown Disney. We rarely eat there, so I don’t have much first hand experience or footage for such a video. I can say that Storytellers is my favorite of the restaurants in that area of the park with Naples being a close second. But I also have never eaten at Napa Rose or the Craftsman table service. Tangaroa Terrace is really good too for quick service.
Thank you so much for making this video. My husband and I are going to Disneyland on Tuesday to celebrate my 50th birthday and I was having a hard time choosing where we should eat.
Shhhh…. 🤫😂 Yes, I thought the one from here “looked” terrible even though it tastes great and figure no one will remember what my video looked like when they go and order it two months from now. 🤣
Is the Plaza Inn closed or have they changed to reservations only for lunch and dinner? Currently (Nov 2024), I can’t find it outside the reservations-only list on the app. 😢
@@lieslvista The Plaza is quick service from Noon to 9 PM. It’s not on mobile order. But if you click the icon where Plaza is under dining you’ll see lunch and dinner listed as “Fast Casual” from 12 PM to 9 PM. The 8 AM to 11 AM is a character breakfast which requires reservations.
The only after hours event I've been to is Oogie Boogie. I want to go to Star Wars Nite this year. Maybe next year the channel will be large enough for me to try all of them, but they're expensive, so I've got to be selective. So I don't have any Sweethearts tips, but after hours in general, make sure you should up as soon as your ticket lets you in at 6 PM to maximize your time. If you have regular day tickets and will be in the park earlier that day anyway, then you should be aware that you WILL have to check in for the event at some point, and that will require exiting and scanning in again on your event ticket after the mix-in begins at 6 PM. But I wouldn't go right away because there might be a long line right at 6 PM. At least there is for OBB, I can't speak for Sweethearts. After that, I really can't speak to the event. Hopefully those little tidbits are somewhat helpful!
I just got back to Texas after a Disneyland trip. My family's favorite at Disneyland was the corn chowder at Jolly Holiday Bakery. We were not impressed with the overpriced gingerbread cookie but loved the Matterhorn macaroon. We enjoyed the gumbo at Cafe Orleans, and I liked the Hurricane! The Bengal BBQ skewers were disappointing due to the small serving, but they were tasty. AT DCA, we loved the Sanfrantokyo elote style corn at Cocina Cucamonga and the lettuce wraps and bao buns at Carthay Circle. We got some better meals by going out to Downtown Disney.
Bengal BBQ is a place we love to eat at, but rarely do because of the overpriced skewers. I need like 3-4 to fill me up and that costs like $21-$28. Which is fairly high for a meal at Disneyland. What’s your favorite place at Downtown Disney? We haven’t eaten there a whole lot. Just the Pizza and Mexican places.
It’s still there but I missed it because Disney doesn’t have it listed on their website. 😅 Strange, yes, but it’s on the mobile order list in the app. There’s also no seating at all, so it could be lumped in with “carts” which I didn’t really cover. I was waiting for someone to notice. 🤣
Something in Oga's that's worth pointing out is you can get some awesome collectibles you can't get anywhere else. Including two Star Wars Tiki themed mugs, the Rancor teeth set, and the always coveted set of coasters.
The coasters! Yes! Should have mentioned those cause they’re free. The other stuff is cool too, but something I’d spend more time talking about on an Oga’s Review. Which I should probably do sometime since Amy has never been in there.
Is the prices we see the actual price or is there tax added? Is there a tip added at a sit down restaurants? We also need to consider exchange rates from Australian to USD 😮
@@x2fishyy_108 All American prices are pre-tax, and tips of at least 18% are expected at table service, sit-down type restaurants. So if your subtotal (the menu price) is $150 (this is approximately a $30 dish and drink for 4 people). The total with a 7.75% sales tax is $161.62. Add in an 20% tip (which is a bit more standard), and that’s $191.62. Make the USD to AUD conversion and you’re looking at a $283 AUD meal. For quick service, the average cost for a party of 4 full entrees at one meal would be roughly $60. That’s $64.65 after tax. No tip as it’s quick service (fast food). Thats $95 AUD.
Just about anywhere that sells breakfast will have coffee. Galactic Grill, Jolly Holiday, Royal Street Veranda, Red Rose Tavern, Ronto Roasters. Just about one in every land.
@@AnaGarcia-z9q There’s some cold brews, but I feel like most specialty coffees are going to be seasonal. So the best option is to just check the mobile order menus in the morning a day or two before you go.
Thanks for the recommendations! We are going in May! Curious, where can we find mobile order coffee Disneyland and DCA? I know the Starbucks in the park isn’t. Is there any coffee in downtown Disney you can mobile order?
Just about any restaurant in Disneyland or DCA that’s open for breakfast is going to have coffee on their mobile order. Nothing too fancy, just a coffee. The speciality beverages are around, too. Like the cold brew black caf at Docking Bay. I’d recommend just poking around the mobile order menus at home. Just go through motions as if you’re going to order. You can back out without having to pay or anything and it lets you look at the menus. We are doing this right now for planning our WDW food. We just scroll around the park map set to Dining and click on the different options, then see what they have. If there’s something that catches our eye, I write it down in my spreadsheet along with location and price.
Yes! But it likely won't be out for another 1-2 weeks. I've got a bunch more Disneyland food content coming this next week, and then we'll move into the DCA food.
Thank you SO much for another fantastic video and also for the straightforward, unsugar-coated reviews. Thumbs up! 2 questions: 1. My daughter and I LOVED the shrimp and grits at Tiana's back in October. Do you know if it's maintained its quality? I'm not hearing any buzz about it anymore. 2. Can you say which short rib is better - the one at Carnation Cafe, or the one from Cafe Orleans? Thank you in advance!
I’ve not had the shrimp and grits at all, so I couldn’t say. I do, however, feel that the food has normalized a bit. And what I mean is that they were working at their very best during the first month or so, and now it’s just the quality that they can consistently churn out day in and day out. I just had the Gumbo and Mac and Cheese on Wednesday and still feel very good about those options, but can’t speak to the grits. And I also don’t think you can go wrong with either short rib. The only table service I’m not wild about is Blue Bayou because I feel like you are paying for the atmosphere, not food.
I had the gulf shrimp and grits back in September and I loved it! Never had it before then. Cafe Orleans does the braised beef short rib the best in my opinion and the portion size seems larger to me.
Thank you for a great video! I’ve been to Disneyland 6 times and still learned a lot from your food guide. By the way, I tried using your promo code for a 5-day pass and it didn’t work. Does it only work with hotel packages? Greetings from Vancouver, Canada!
Yes, correct. It only works for packages. You can still book the tickets through my link and I’ll get a small commission at no extra cost to you, but the code only works if you have a hotel combined with it.
We need a sweethearts nights tips it’ll be me and my fiancé very first time ever in Disney January 23rd we’ll only be there for the sweethearts events !
I’ve never been, so I can’t speak to it, but I will tell you what I’ve told others in the past. The only after hours event I’ve been to is Oogie Boogie Bash. If it’s similar, know that people will line up around 45 minutes before the “mix-in” begins which I believe is 6 PM for Sweethearts Nite. What that means is that if you don’t have day tickets, you’ll want to get there around 5:15-5:30 so that you can maximize your time in the park before the event begins. If you DO have park tickets that day, then you’ll need to leave the park at some point before the event begins and reenter with your event ticket to get your wristband that allows you access after the park closes. DCA had a secondary check in location where you didn’t need to leave, but I can’t remember if that was Magic Key only or for anyway, but it was deep inside the park, not near the entrance. Disneyland may have a secondary check-in location for guests already inside the park as well, but I have no idea where it is. I do hope to go to Star Wars Nite this year, but that doesn’t really help you. Hopefully this little bit of insight is helpful to some degree though.
@@SoCalDisneyDad no this actually really helped I’ve been religiously watching your videos to make the most out of my trip so I appreciate you’re time even replying back ❤️
I was freaked out that I could not make dining reservations for the Plaza Inn at dinner. It seems like you just get in line and self serve? Thanks for settling my nerves!
Correct! Plaza Inn only needs reservations for the character breakfast. It’s a standard quick service for lunch and dinner. This is different from The Plaza Restaurant at WDW that is a table service restaurant and requires reservations for all meals. Not sure if that’s what you were thinking?
We bought tickets at Get Away Today and loved their service. The "extra day free" offer is somewhat misleading though. You don't get an extra day free, you buy a 5 day ticket and pay for about 4, just as at the gate or other ticket vendors. We expected a 6th day for free when we bought the 5 day ticket. No big deal, but just something to keep in mind when buying park tickets.
That's generally how those offers work, but it's still better than booking direct with Disneyland. I just priced out a 5-day park hopper via Disneyland for a family of 4 and it came to $2,160. Get Away Today is $2,010, or a savings of $150. Is it earth shattering? No, but I'll take any savings I can get. On top of tickets, Get Away has hotel offers too. If I were to book the Clarion(their preferred hotel for whatever reason) on my own, it would be $638. With Get Away it's $518. So a total package savings of $270, or about 10% off booking direct.
There was a time probably in the early 2000s when from Disneyland I would go out drive my car to one of the Vietnamese restaurants in Anaheim and buy a whole bunch of food to go for my family who are inside the park. I guess this doesn't exist anymore
You can still leave and grab food from outside the park and bring it back. There’s plenty of picnic tables. Now whether the Vietnamese restaurant is still there or not I couldn’t say.
We liked sitting by the ride for Zocalo too until we saw a roach recently. A BIG roach. Lol I know it's going to happen at theme parks, no way around that but I got the heebie jeebies and I don't think I could relax there anymore, especially with any bags not up on the table or something. It's also pricier to eat there. Daisy's in ToonTown is suprisingly good for the price, not as bad as I thought when our kids begged us to eat there. Lol 😂 I love the lemonade and doughnuts. I think the Grey Stuff is GROSS and overpriced AF. It's a barely flavored cookies-and-cream "icing" on a flavorless shortbread cookie. The place next to Tiki Room/Jungle Cruise is a favorite actually. For Disney. Sitting next to the water is fun! Honestly we prefer CA Adventure for food. Especially the area with pasta, pizza etc. Over by Goofy's ride. And we also like the new SanFransokyo place! I know this video is for Disney but we have passes and prefer that park to Disney for dining.
It's a shame about Blue Bayou! We used to love that restaurant and would always order the surf and turf (lobster tail with filet mignon) and my husband would order the rack of lamb they used to make. Over the years, the dishes we loved dissappeared and in its place were smaller, spicy, substitutes with hardly any tasty sides like the mashed potatoes and vegetables they used to serve. We go to Cafe Orleans now instead and love the rib roast, chicken, or pasta with shrimp we've had there. Our granddaughter loves the kids meal with the shrimp! The chicken your kids had didn't look that great. Do they like seafood? You should do a video on the best kid meals in Disneyland. Carthay Circle is our top choice in DCA even though it costs more. The alfresco dining saves some money and everything is so delicious! My grandaughter loves the casadillas on their kids meal options. We also love Tangaroa Terrace for breakfast! Those Japanese Pancakes are sooooo good! 😋
Best kids meals sounds like an amazing idea! And Tangaroa Terrace is super good. We ate there for the first time in July. I don’t remember what we got though.
After visiting Seaworld SanDiego last month and trying some food there, I can honestly say that Disneyland is like a fine gourmet restaurant in comparison. I threw out an entire meal at SeaWorld - who knew you could make a burger so disgusting it was inedible?!
SeaWorld’s food is AWFUL. I almost never eat there anymore, and I roast them in videos about their food all the time. I know for 100% certain they watch my videos as I’ve been approached by their leadership and thanked for my content before. I’m just hoping that get the picture at some point and actively work to fix the problem, but so far it hasn’t happened.
@@SoCalDisneyDad Yeah, I'd actually watched your SW videos before going so my expectations were low. But I thought "How bad could it really be?" Apparently REALLY bad. We'd be happy to meet you if you see us! Just to set expectations, though, we will be in Florida May 16th through May 25th. So if your visit falls in those dates, we won't be around, unfortunately.
I can’t wait to go this year
Thank you for this vlog! We live in Australia so don’t get to visit frequently, however this vlog has helped me plan for a visit later this year - planning what to eat and snack on so we aren’t backtracking. Subscribed 😊
Thank you! If you ever have any questions, feel free to reach out on any video. I’m always happy to help.
I feel the blue and green milk taste like soap but if I had to choose one it would be the blue milk
I love Pooh corner
It’s a great place to grab a bite and do some shopping. I love their merch line they have there.
Woah i'm early! Love your videos! I'm really hungry now
Thank you! Yes, this will probably make a lot of people hungry. 😂
Do you have any videos on the downtown Disney and/or resort hotel dining (craftsman, Napa rose, etc)?
Happy early Birthday! Did you decide on where you want to eat?
@@SoCalDisneyDad Thank you!! So far we plan on eating at jolly holiday and Tiana's palace ☺️
@@stephnoyer7594 Both are solid options! The Gumbo at Tiana’s is in my top 10 for new foods I’ve tried in the last year.
Is the footage of the Breakfast Ronto wrap from WDW? I've never had one at DL where the egg look like this.
I’m going to Disneyland for SweetHearts night this year, do you have any info or tips/advice for the after hour events
Just the Pizza and Mexican places.
very helpful
Thank you!
So much to try 😋
Not enough meals in the day to try everything. 😂
I know right? We are planning our WDW trip and are thinking the same with all the wonderful Disney food.
What about the red wagon?
@@SoCalDisneyDadwould love a video this 😊
Is the prices we see the actual price or is there tax added?
Have you guys ever done a gluten option for dining at Disneyland or most kid friendly (and picky eaters) places to dine ?
We have tried a few Gluten-free items before. It’s not a full guide, but you may still find it helpful?
th-cam.com/video/Evt-ed3Eb_0/w-d-xo.html
Locations for coffee other than main Street? Trying to do rope drop and get coffee in the morning can be a challenge.
Just about anywhere that sells breakfast will have coffee. Galactic Grill, Jolly Holiday, Royal Street Veranda, Red Rose Tavern, Ronto Roasters. Just about one in every land.
Any specialty coffees at any of these locations or just your simple coffee ?
@@AnaGarcia-z9q There’s some cold brews, but I feel like most specialty coffees are going to be seasonal. So the best option is to just check the mobile order menus in the morning a day or two before you go.
@@SoCalDisneyDad thank you for your response and all the great videos you post.
Oh that’s great! I didn’t realize you could do that on the app! Thanks for the suggestion!
Loved this video! Are you going to do one for DCA?
Yes! But it likely won't be out for another 1-2 weeks. I've got a bunch more Disneyland food content coming this next week, and then we'll move into the DCA food.
YES to cafe orleans
Maybe I missed it but did you not mention Little red Wagon?
great
Thank you!
Thank you SO much for another fantastic video and also for the straightforward, unsugar-coated reviews. Thumbs up!
2 questions:
10:03 my goodness that is extremely sad 😭
I'm team frozen blue milk
Making me hungry
🤤😂
There was a time probably in the early 2000s when from Disneyland I would go out drive my car to one of the Vietnamese restaurants in Anaheim and buy a whole bunch of food to go for my family who are inside the park. I guess this doesn't exist anymore
You can still leave and grab food from outside the park and bring it back. There’s plenty of picnic tables.
Now whether the Vietnamese restaurant is still there or not I couldn’t say.
Are Mickey’s beignets better than Tiana’s?
Everyone’s got different tastes and I totally respect those opinions.
Tropical Hideaway is definitely a picturesque location. Love it.
Thanks in part to your videos I was prepared and we snuck in some protein bars, jerky, trail mix, etc., which tided us over for the day. Will be back at DL in 2 weeks and am looking forward to trying some of your latest food recommendations!
The fried Tamale and Ramon's "pear of dice" soda are the worst we've had at DCA located at the cozy cones 🤮
#teamnomilk lol!
Blueee
Is it just us northerns in shorts and tshirts. Lol
Not these days. I wear shorts to the parks, even if it’s a bit “nippy” in the AM in the high 50s.
But I usually don’t get there until the end of April. Before that I wear jeans.
this resturant was better back in the day lol well i mean 1970 and it looks the same
Team No Milk lol
