If you’re nearsighted but don’t wear your glasses during VR, then most of it will be blurry because the VR lenses are set to make images appear further than they actually are.
@@tb1235 legit.. I've got incredibly bad near sighted vision, so it was a given I need em, but even people with some near sided vision they are defintely going to be affected by the VR,
I wish I could understand why that matters if they only appear further away, but aren't actually. I was so bummed when I realized I still have to wear my glasses.
Yeah true, where I get it right it just isn't comfortable and I have to tighten and get a headache after 30 min. I wish it was traditional headstrap so i could center weight with a counterweight and put all the weight on a comfort strap. It is light but I hate to tighten.
That was EXACTLY my experience. Ultra important to get the back strap low, but you still should adjust the screen/mask very small amounts. It's amazing what an improvement can be made.
it's just like wearing the OGPSVR, super comfy. My Quest 2 has a Bobovrpro2, making it tolerable because the weight is adjusted and it's not pressed on your face. PSVR2 is comfortable enough to wear for hours, but I am already used to this head strap from Sonys OG model.
I think the most common issue is the vertically tilted angle on your head. Rolling the the headset either forward or backward will clear up most issues. This angle for clarity is really a very small sweet spot and might not be the most comfortable position for wear the headset but picture quality outweighs a slightly less comfortable fit in my opinion.
This is exactly my situation, if I pull the bottom of the headset closer to my face it becomes crystal clear but there is no adjustment for the bottom part of the headset just the top. But for the record I do not have this problem with the Quest 2 from meta.
You adjust front for image quality and back bandage for comfort. Not sure why some doesn't get clear image, either their headset is faulty or they are faulty.
I repeat the eye tracking/ eye adjustment b4 every use GT7 RE8 & KAYAK VR SHOWED ME THE POWER OF THIS HEADSET, ITS ALL ABOUT THE NEW GAMES TO COME, THE POSSIBILITIES ARE INCREDIBLE.
@@treeman_mj you have to give vr time. For the first 2 weeks play in 15-30 minute intervals, eventually it will go away and you can play very long sessions. Also aiming a fan at ur face helps. Been playing vr for 7 years and it's alot of fun, but some of the newness does wear off, unfortunately.
I previously commented. Now that after seeing these tips, WOW have I been having WAY TOO MUCH FUN with the PSVR2. I couldn’t believe the difference. My issue was I didn’t have the headset low enough on the back of my head. And also didn’t adjust the distance of the headset from my face properly. Now. WOW. I spent 4 hrs last night just playing demos. I’m floored at how immersive this is.
To everyone new to VR. Don't expect it to be as sharp as a TV. It won't be. Make sure you have your eye correction on if needed 🤣. And take time to find the sweet spot. Fiddle with the dial, and adjust its position on your head until it looks as clear as possible. The sweet spot on this headset is harder to find than most. Remember to adjust the headband, you may have to raise or lower the front and/or rear of the headband to get the correct angle. When right, this headset is quite a bit sharper than most other headsets.
This is probably the most important comment that wasn’t explained in this video… going back to Sony shouldn’t have been the last step.. VR itself currently has a limit, and people new to VR have not had this explained to them by Sony or content creators.
I'm short sighted and have no problems using VR without glasses. A friend of mine who is long sighted is one who has the problems. I think it depends on the individual
Quick tip: you can access the headset adjustment screen from the card in the quick menu. It's a lot quicker than going into setting. Especially for me; I like to adjust it every time I put it on.
@@LooseyGooseyGander5 you can access this 'card' by pressing the PS home button on your controller. Hard to describe it, but 'card' is as good a term as anything.
The tilt everyone, that's what did it for me after everything else was set. Move that headset up n' down till you find that clearness, then tighten that back strap so it stays there
I have this headset! Not a single person mentions one important thing! IF you push the display to close to your eyes almost touching your chic bones and stinr, then the sides of the picture starts to get rainbow colors and totaly blurrey out. So press the black button on the visor and push the visor closer to your face onyl to a degree where its comfortable. Not pressing hard agaist your face! Best thing is to move it closer to your face and while youre doing that, watch the left and reight side of the image. When its getting rainbow colored and blure its to close to the face. This things looks amazing if correctly set up! No 4k TV off corse! But very enjoyable! Even for me whom eyes are very well experienced to cristal clear 4k qualiy on beamer, tv and Laptop. And im a very nit picking person. So dont be afraid to buy one! You will be blowen away by the experience and wont regret it!
It's all about placing the headband at the back so it's perfectly supporting the bottom of your skull. Once you have that set, being the headset right up to your face while pursuing the front button.
It’s also very easy to move the IPD dial when your putting the headset on and off so it’s important to check the lens distance every time you start a VR session.
There's only one thing I've not figured yet. I'm not certain whether the visor has to go all in, for the lenses to be right next to my eyes. I personally keep it a bit away from my eyes but there's no light coming from above or the sides. The dark sides to the left and right are quite noticible and sometimes I become way too aware of the central part as well. This might all be normal stuff but it's my first VR experience so I'm learning a lot in a short time, haha. Also, I don't seem to be able to properly center the eyes with the lenses. The picture shows them within the circles but not exactly centered. Picture quality is great though, no blurriness and the text is clear. Also, I end up with red marks over my forehead, after a long session. Might be I'm tightening too much at the back but otherwise it slips and the front part goes resting on my nose. Definitely easier to handle while sitting on a sofa but I still end up adjusting the visor up and down, which solves things. Definitely a lot to play around with here. Been having a blast with it!
I am wondering why edge to edge clarity is never discussed. Sharpness is referring to the center of the screen. But when you move your eyes (without moving your head) there is some blurriness that occurs due to the frensel lens. I am just fairly confused why people don’t discuss this. Unless mine is just busted and it is unique to me. I hear some other mentioning this but since it's not talked about on a larger scale is something wrong with mine? For anyone sayings it's super clear - do you not notice the blur if you keep your head still and look near the edges of the screen (i.e. 30% away from the dead center of the screen)
Don’t forget everyone’s head is different. My son and I played Pistol Whip head to head (in party mode). Each time you swap players remember to reset the IPD (align the lenses). We didn’t find it necessary to reset the eye tracking - just the alignment.
I went in to check my settings and noticed that if you have the original PSVR hooked up to your PS5, which I did, you cannot enable 4K or 120hz because of that VR box that you have hooked up with the headset. I removed mine and those options were now filled in and automatically enabled because I had my PSVR2 hooked up to it. I noticed a very nice change in the graphics once I had done that. Hope this helps anyone else who may also have their old PSVR hooked up.
I've played VR maybe 5 times in the last 4 years and i have no issues with the PSVR2. Been playing horizon, no man's sky, job simulator, and a rhythm game and no blurriness or headaches.
@@stephenhamilton9791 I did to until I put it in comfort mode, which reduces fov. If you're using the stick to rotate the camera, try setting it to flick rather than smooth. Those two changes got rid of the motion sickness completely for me in horizon.
I think there's a lot of "my bed is too soft, my bed is too hard, it's never just right" going on here.. FFS people check your expectations with reality, this thing has features that are only found in headsets like the Quest Pro, Valve Index you know $1,000+ headset not a $600! I spent the last 22 years as a hardcore diehard Xbox weenie & never touched a PlayStation, until now! When I saw the PSVR 2 demos on TH-cam I immediately ordered the PS5 Digital God of War Ragnarok Bundle & pre-ordered the PSVR 2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle... This is my 1st PS anything & I have owned an Oculus Go, Rift S, Quest 2 & the PSVR 2 makes them all look like Samsung Gear VR! I am a convert from a Series X Ultimate Game Pass 22 years fanboy to a PS5 PS Plus Premium PSVR 2 fanboy! Microsoft's flat out refusal to do anything VR with the Xbox is not only stupid, it's robbing their user base of awesome experiences. I'm not going back, it's PS for me from here on & I am in awe at the PSVR 2, but then again I'm 46 & not an over entitled bitch & moaner either so... 🤷♂️
It's a tad blurry for me but 2 weeks ago I found out I'm farsighted in my right eye which is my aiming eye. Glasses will arrive in a week so be good to see how much difference it will make.
It’s amazing how many people don’t know how to properly put on a headset. Just find the sweet spot, problem solved. This is universally accepted as the clearest headset out now
Yes lots of VR noobs here. What games have you been playing? I’ve been playing a horizon and re8. Both games have blown me away, but for me personally I think RE8 is the best looking VR gane ive ever seen including hla. The performance is amazing too puts pcvr to shame.
@@Quest4Horror I’ve played the heavy hitters so far, Horizon/GT7/RE8. Also some time in Kayak and Star Wars. Really hoping we get the HLA port announced soon, that’s the biggest weakness for PSVR2 right now- it doesn’t have the holy grail of VR games
Ok, I admit I am new to VR and do get that the blur is better headset positioning all good there. However, is it ok to be like constantly looking on dirty screen that is moving with your head. I see it every where it is so bad (for me at least) that I am constantly focusing on in instead on the game....how to fix that? is it bad copy or it is something that i have to accept and this is the current level of this tech ?
I think you may need the lenses as close as possible, then pull into face. If you pull headset into to face 1st and try and close lenses your nose gets in the way. Also every review pre sale never mentioned its totally clear at what youre looking at, but anything in the corner of your vision is blurry still. The tech just isnt there yet.
"Anything in the corner of your vision is blurry" . . . You mean like in reality? So its virtually reality? 😉 Just pulling your pi$$er. Your first tips are very good though. Especially for a big 👃 bugger like me. 👊✌
It's got bad edge to edge clarity because the lenses are the fresnel type which is old technology. Other new headsets have moved to pancake lenses which have superb edge to edge clarity. The Quest 3 will have pancake lenses for sure. I think the PSVR2 will be the last major headset ever made to have fresnel lenses.
It feels like to foveated rendering is not working for me. When I play Grand Turismo 7 or even MW2 (it's just like having a larger screen to look at, it's not VR compatible) I have to actually shift my head to get the corners of the screen to focus. When I just look to the corner with my eyes it's still out of focus and doesn't get clear until I actually turned my head directly to that area of the screen. (Yes, the eye tracking is calibrated) Has anyone else's experienced this?
Yeah same. My foveated rendering somehow didn’t work at all and even the center only looks sometimes good. Everything around the dead center was blurry. In the light brigade even the center looked like eyecancer I couldn’t read shit in the ingame menu. I returned mine and they told me it works how it should. Maybe I didn’t find the correct sweet spot idk. I‘m very disappointed and waiting for my headset to return next week. Did you find a solution yet?
@@Superhyuman not yet, but it did improve once I found the sweet spot for how the headset sits on my face. Still, only the center improved. I have to physically turn my head to have anything except the center in focus; and yes, all calibrations are set, reset, and triple checked. I'm gonna call customer support next, but I just haven't had the time
@@noahthegildedone5917 man that sucks. I will probably call costumer support too when I get back mine and can’t find a better sweet spot. It doesn’t even look nearly as sharp as most youtubers are saying. It’s sadly a blurry piece of crap for us rightnow. I wish I knew how to fix it
This is great advice for any headset, not just psvr2. It's the same process I go through with my quest 2/pcvr, even 3 years down the road. Clean lenses and correct positioning and dpi settings are the biggest culprit. Sweat, an eyelash or fingerprint or the positioning being a little off can make it look real bad when those lenses are right up on your eyes. It's worth your time following the tutorials, at least on your first try. Glasses are also important if you need them, it applies in vr just as real life even if you're long-sighted. Glasses work, but I thoroughly recommend getting some prescription lenses that match your prescription. Depending on your Glasses frame, it can be pretty uncomfortable and you have to take care not to scratch the headset lenses. I got my prescription lenses 2 years ago, popped them in and hardly ever need to touch them besides cleaning - fantastic investment. They make one's for psvr2 specifically to work with eye tracking also. Also in general, it's worth getting your eyes checked occasionally anyway. If you try all this and its still bad, may be worth looking into (pun intended) A friend of mine actually discovered he's short sighted because he found my prescription lenses on my quest 2 gave better visuals than without. Turns out he was mildly short-sighted between perfect vision and my worse eyes lol it was minor so he hadn't realised in daily life, but now he has appropriate specs on, he's very happy with the change. Worth giving it some thought!
Its sharp as hell. The detail and clarity is amazing. It's a fantastic device aimed at bringing new people to VR. Very immersive experience with the eyetracking haptics and physics. The fantastic lighting and vastly improved textures and draw distances is just the cherry on the sundae. Highly recommended upgrade to quest 2 and psvr1. The games coming out are great, it's a great time to be a VR fan. Weather you like it or not this piece of kit is going to revitalize VR gaming.
@Caio compared to other headsets it is pretty sharp. It looks quite a bit more crisp than my Quest 2. But it is tougher to find the sweet spot. Don't expect a headset to be as sharp and detailed as a TV.
PSVR2 has a diffusion filter between the lens and display to reduce the screendoor effect. It makes the image a bit soft or blurry, but almost no TH-camrs talk about it as they are a very dishonest bunch. Most other headsets don't have such a filter.
@Mathew Hegan I've only played GT7 VR, but screwing in the dial in the back all the way seems to clear it up really well. It's pretty clear after that.
Maximize your settings and things closer to you will be crystal clear, set headset brightness to 100% helped me a lot, yes stuff far away seems to be blurry, but the overall experience it's fine😃
Mine is not blurry i do have some screen door effect but its nothing close to the first psvr1. I found my sweet spot and i was amazed at how clear it looked
I think for some reason the foveated rendering isn't working properly. It seems like the image is always clearest in the center of the screen and blurry as you go further out, but it doesn't follow my eyes in any way. If I want to read something on the edge of the screen, I have to physically move my head to look at it and not just my eyes.
Same! I was trying to figure out if the foveated rendering was in the settings to mess around with it but seems likes it’s built in. When I’m in front of an object it looks better but everything is is not and makes me wonder if it’s actually working
I think things can't look sharp on the edge because of the Fresnel lenses. But I'm also not shure if eyetracking and forveatet rendering is working in the playstation menu.
The thing that I had to do, to get a clean and crisp picture, without any bleeding edges, was - like with the PSVR1 back then - to slightly push the lenses away from the position, where it's firmly pressed against my nose and face. Then everything snaps into place for me. This means, that on PSVR1 I had quite a bit of light entering the headset from beneath my nose. Thankfully, this doesn't happen anymore, as the light guarding silicone rubber has been vastly improved for PSVR2. The only drawback might be, that it slightly wiggles on my head from time to time, as it's not pressed against my face that firmly. Just my two cents, what I have to do, to get a perfect image with crisp text etc.
I'm so happy you said not to use cleaners. I am seeing so many people making videos telling people to spray glasses cleaner on their lenses. They are literally destroying people's $550 devices.
Focal point in VR is quite far. I wear glasses to see close objects but further than 2m to infinity I see better without them. In VR I do not need to wear glasses. But that thing aside, most often 3rd option you mentioned is a culprit not only to blurry image but also long session comfort. I found few hours in wrong front to back tilt will hurt my forehead and HMD need readjustment frequently. When proper front to back tilt is maintained forehead do not hurt, HMD sits more firmly and blurriness is less abundant.
My eyes aren't perfect these days but I find adjusting the headset around my eyes to take that blur vision away... yes like he says in the video there is a sweet spot where everything is perfectly clear.
Mine is a little blurry, but I don’t know if that is the limitation of the hardware, the adjustments or my eyes. Hard to tell without knowing how the graphics are supposed to be.
I find the adjust lens distance is too forgiving and accepts i placement that will still show blurriness. Lens adjustment and device placement on the face at the same time can give an optimal image
Just pre-ordered the Hons VR prescription lenses for this. I wear glasses mainly hut also have contacts. The smudges can break the immersion quickly. And while it doesn't happen often, it can get annoying. Going to try wearing contacts meanwhile as well and see how the experience differs.
I own multiple VR headsets and was quite disappointed of the quality of the image. I tried to adjust and re adjust everything not working. Might be a lot of defective units out there
The progressive lenses in my glasses were causing issues in the upper and lower screen areas which is a bummer. It seems much better with my contact lenses on.
Reading is incredibly difficult for me in PSVR2. I have noticed my glasses do not cover my entire IRL FOV, so I’m wondering if that’s why my peripherals are incredibly blurry. Waiting to get prescription lenses.
I am experiecing issue with VR which bother me a lot. You can se it in the dudes video at 7:28 where vision goes narrow for some reason. It happens a lot during a game and I don’t know why 🙃 Can anyone help me please?
Some games look good and some are definitely quite blurry or grainy. In the cockpit in GT7 it looks fine, cars in the distance however look like a PS2 game. Thumper is fun but grainy and “noisy” in its visuals. Horizon is nice up close but trees and waterfalls etc in the distance is blurry, and many people have agreed with me. Kayak is 50/50, some scenes are jaw dropping, some rocky walls and leaves can be blurry. RE8 for me looks the cleanest. Not perfect by any means. But cleanest of the ones ive played.
From the distance yes, But this is also a problem on high end pc's with any VR. VR will not stop being blurry for at least another 5 years. The tech is getting there, you're always going to have a few blurred out images especially if you're using your eyes to turn. if you shake your head in real life fast and look at something it becomes out of focus this is never going to go away for example i'm looking at my rick and morty figure and if i shake my head it fast it goes out of focus. The issue VR is having any VR is far away texture blurring and unfortunatly its not there yet. Hopefully by the time a ps5 pro is out this will be fixed give it another 4 - 5 years. My only solution for you is try to ignore it and focus more on your character and what's in front of you, rather than further away from you.
ive tried almost everything to get the sweet spot and its still not the best quality even when i find it. im wearing glasses and everything but maybe i need to go for another eye test. idk. is there a certain order in which i should do things? like adjust visibilty first or move lenses furher from eyes? any help will be much appreciated thanks
Surprised so many people still don't know about the sweet spot with a VR Headset. They're probably not getting the optimal experience and they don't even realise this. Regardless thanks for the video.
I'm always nervous about my glasses touching the lenses and scuffing one or both so I keep a piece of foam taped between the psvr lenses to prevent touching.
I used lens cleaner on mine as there were some marks on it (hmmmmmm) . It was a sealed box and wasn't tampered with so maybe from factory but who knows . For me the picture is great but slightly blurry on the edges .
Going into the Adjust Visibility settings makes a big difference as if you don't get that blue ring the image can look very out of focus. Even with the image in focus however, I find the the resolution is still quite low for most PSVR2 games. This is the main problem with the headset for me. All the promotions and reviews I watched failed to mention that what you are getting is essentially less than a full HD or 1080pm image. I would say it is often closer to a 720p image. Blowing up to basically life size leaves a very grainy image. Being used to 4K or between 1440p and 4K games on the PS5, the much lower resolutions on PSVR2 was a big step down for me, especially when the promotions and previews presented it as higher res. I have no problem playing 1080p games on my large tv as they usually still look good. Not so with PSVR2. As I say, litetally no one talked about this. All the promotion talked about 4K resolution, which was really a lie. For myself I would have been happy with a clean looking 1440p or even 1080p image, but this is not what you get. My second biggest problem is what seems like forced motion blur in many games. I haven't come across an option to turn motion blur off in any PSVR2 game. Anyway thats my rant about PSVR2.
I can dial the center perfectly clear. but further a way from center, worse the blur, and color bleed / halo effect that I cannot get rid off. Disapointed with the product.
@@gameboyttv This my first VR, I don't even know the differences of lens type. Actually I am not that impressed with GT7, Resident evil and star wars just give me motion sickness too quickly each session to be fun. Some wow moments with Horizon but the game is just so so, Pistol whip and Synth rider are quite fun as family games. If I didn't buy so many VR games already I probably would return the VR2.
@@TurboZHK I feel your pain on motion sickness. When I bought my first PCVR back in 2016, I was soo disappointed that I would get sick within 30min or less. You have to build up your VR legs, it takes time. The second you feel sick, stop playing. Do small increments and build it up over time. Otherwise your brain associates the headset with nausea, it happened to me. Just looking at the headset on my desk made me feel sick.
This advice seems so simple, but even after paying a lot of attention while I initially calibrated, it turned out the near-sightedness was my issue. I only have to wear glasses for driving on the highway or in a large classroom setting. However VR works (this is my first experience with PSVR2) is actually just like real life for me; my eyes suck at any distance and same here :) Popped on my glasses and it's super crisp. Thanks so much @JSkeleton!
I received my PSVR2 saturday and I thought that the IQ was just Ok in the center, but not so great everywhere else. Sunday evening, I watched this video and this precious advice GREATLY improved the IQ everywhere on the display (clear texts and images) and at great distances in Horizon COTM. I am also near sighted and did not think that I would need my glasses during VR sessions, lol.
I already thought it was pretty clear and playing RE8 I saw the writing on the medicine bottles were blurry, just thought it was normal, played again today and I can now read them?😳 it’s not crystal clear by any means but make sure you mess with it some before you start blaming the headset, every session I get it to look better, I can calibrate and adjust faster, I can feel the sweet spot for the headband now.
This is my first vr headset so I'm not sure if this is just gow it's supposed to look. The image looks like a better version of the 3ds screen. It's sharper, but it still has this odd fuzzy look. It's less like it's out of focus and more like it's just a byproduct of the stereoscopic 3d.
Would be nice if Sony developed PSVR2 'profiles' - So it saves the settings for friends or partners - Eye tracking I'm thinking, not the adjustments on the headset itself.
Strangely enough, this even means to rescan the area. I would have assumed that this should be per console, since just switching users usually would not put the console into a different area
I recently got one, but I don't see any sign of 4k resolution and oled display. Everything appears blurry. I feel like the eye tracker doesn't work well when it should make the point I'm looking at clear. It not even clearly pictures
Anything off center begins to be blurry for me (I'm not talking about eye tracking not working with proper foveated rendering, this happens for UI in cinema mode too).
There is also one more issue, lenses get oil foggish (smudges) after playing for 1 hour... Should I keep wiping them with microfiber cloth after every 1 hour?
Okay, just put it on and noticed I can get things pretty clear dead center. There is a natural graininess/softness to the image though. Looks standard def. As soon as I look around with only my eyes to the edges of the image, things are fuzzy unless I physically turn my head to where what I am looking at is at the center of the screen. Is mine bad?
I had the exact same experience as you so I think this is just how it is. The graininess is killing the experience for me. Plus, playing Horizon made me so nauseous yesterday that I haven't even tried playing again today. I'll give it another go tomorrow though. I had a much better 1st time experience with the first psvr.
Fresnel lenses will always look best when you are looking through the center. My quest 2 was the same, generally moving your head and centering what you want to look at will be sharper than looking toward the edges of the lenses
I have the issues of the PSVR2 back riding up. I think it's because of my smooth silky hair. It happens to all of my halo style vr head straps. It just won't sit at the back for long. Any tips for medium/long hair users please?
I'm bald so idk if I'm the best person to give this kind of advice LOL BUT...Not sure if this would work, but could you put it under some of your hair so the bulk of your hair sits on top of the back headband? Not sure if that would work or even be comfortable, just a random thought. The only other thing I can suggest is make sure the back headband is far enough down the back of your head AND make sure you turn the back dial to tighten the back band against your head snuggly.
@@JSkeleton Thanks for your suggestions 😘 I really appreciate your time in helping me. Unfortunately it keeps riding up even when I push the back head strap down all the way. I think I have a weird shape head 😂 I might have to wear a beanie hat. Also being bald is beautiful on men I say.
@@JSkeleton Ok so I’m not the only one 😅 dude I just want to say thank you for the tips you suggested in the other video about how to avoid getting motion sickness. PSVR2 is the first ever VR headset I’ve used and on the day I got it my wife and I went straight into Kayak VR without thinking too much of it and almost immediately we got motion sickness and was really put off. So big thanks from us to you! Already subbed to your channel 😊

Was your problem that you didn’t find the correct sweet spot? I returned mine because I thought it was a faulty device but they told me it works how it should. On my end almost everything was blurry and the foveated rendering didn’t work at all. Please tell me how your experience was
@@Superhyuman yep matching the eye tracking with the sweet spot. Also, I’m nearsighted and didn’t wear my glasses thinking Hey it’s right in front of me so why should I… but when I put mine on and got that sweet spot and eye tracking matched… it’s been fantastic! I hope you get yours set if you ended up taking it back home! This guy’s tips are completely on point.
@@dr.rosenrosen5849 did you calibrate it in the basic menu or ingame to find the perfect sweet spot? And does the foveated rendering only work if you find that sweet spot?
@GamalBatista no, the foveatad rendering is supposed to make where you look focused. But it has a bug right now where if you look at the edge, it is not focusing. The eye tracking works, but it is not rendering in game. Came to see if others had the same issue as mine and it looks that they do.
how screwed am i if i used a windex wipe on the lenses for my first attempt at fixing blur? since ive used a soft microfiber but ofcourse after using the wipe i hear theyre harmful
The problem is, that the technology is not mature enough. The 2 displays (I mean, the 2 oled displays) should be curved around the eyeballs, not flat + lenses. Until they change the technology, get your blurred periperal view (due to loss of resolution), and chromatic aberrations (due to the lenses). And also, 2000 x 2000 resolution is not enough to fill your entire field of view including full eye motion, without letting you see the pixels: it's like watching a 2k monitor from like 10 cm distance...
Beware comments full of people that don't own the headset. Some tinkering is required but the experience and clarity is more than good enough to get lost for hours and hours in games. Don't let these people put you off a great purchase.
Long story short: my eyes don't focus on the *exact* same point. Not a big deal in life, but a very big deal with the PSVR2 apparently. I didn't even consider this when I pre-ordered the PSVR2🤦🏾 IDK if anything will help so I might be selling it soon. [I am throwing a tantrum on the floor rn with all the energy of a 5-yo child]
yeah, i found the writing to be fuzzy and had a red/blue hue around it. Still to play a game yet, will do as soon as it is finished downloading horizon.
When playing Horizon Call of The Mountain, I'm getting tunnel vision (area going black around where I'm looking at) especially when moving so need to stay in place without moving before regaining my field of view again. Is there a setting somewhere to turn off the tunnel vision that is happening whenever I'm moving/looking around? I might have accidentally turned off the foveated rendering or something.
I’ve tried everything in the video many times over, but to me, the image still appears blurry. So, for those who feel it’s “sharp as hell”, do you mean sharp compared to, say, the Quest 2? Or do you mean sharp like, say, a good t.v. screen? I don’t know if it’s my eyes or my expectations…all I know is I’m about to return my PSVR 2.
seen others mention the "3d without glasses" effect of the screen being too high and too low and thought I found the sweet spot, but no one said to wear glasses! I figured I wouldn't need mine bcs the screen is right there. definitely gonna try tomorrow. dove right in for an hour as a total vr noob and im laying in bed chugging water trying to get my land legs back 😂
The lens simulate a certain distance of focus for your eyes, so if you need glasses to see above (or beyond, don't know the righ word in english) 2 meters, you need to wear them.
I'm going to return my vr2 it's blurry it's not the same image that it mirrors on the tv I think it has a problem I tried everything but the image is not as clear as on the tv screen if anyone has gone through this i would like to know thanks
Mine get blurry without my glasses, and it's hard to wear glasses with VR... I'm doing vision correction surgery in a few months, until then are there any fixes?
Do you need a 4K TV to use the PSVR2? I can’t select HDR for the PSVR2 because it says “Your TV is not compatible”. It’s only 1080p. Could this be one of the reasons that mine looks very blurry?
Your TV does not matter at all, and that's weird you're seeing that since the settings for PSVR2 even states it does not matter if your TV supports said features or not as it has nothing to do with your TV. Maybe you're looking at your PS5/TV display settings? Be sure to check your PSVR2 settings when you have the PSVR2 turned on and are wearing it. HDR would not matter for clarity of picture. HDR just gives it a wider range of colours is all. I actually turned mine off recently because for my recordings it was making everything a bit darker since I do not record my gameplay in HDR and only was displaying it in HDR for myself in the headset.

I feel like the games made for psvr look really great. No mans sky and some other older games have a bit of that blur but I think it still looks so good. People are expecting crystal clear and Imo that's unrealistic
The wanky paid influencers are the ones who told us it was crystal clear, blame them, it's not 4k it's closer to 2k per eye or HD upscalled to 2K per eye. For crystal clear Images we need 4K per eye
Lots of different heads, I for example thought how the demo where they say to put back strap low was misleading for me because if I set it low I cant adjust eyes properly, I had to adjust the front part first and then I tightened back strap. For me backstrap sits pretty high on the back...have in mind that the picture is NOT sharp like on your tv which was a bit disappointment for me since Im new to VR, and those shiny little specs all over the screen bother me the most...oh well...my son loves it so Im keeping it.
If you’re nearsighted but don’t wear your glasses during VR, then most of it will be blurry because the VR lenses are set to make images appear further than they actually are.
This, I remember trying the quest, I was like man this is blurry (I'm incredible short sided) once I wore my glasses it looked gorgeous
Same
A lot of people are about to find out that they're near sighted.
I think my main problem was I didn't have the back of the headset low enough and the front high enough.
That was my problem at first!
Yeah true, where I get it right it just isn't comfortable and I have to tighten and get a headache after 30 min. I wish it was traditional headstrap so i could center weight with a counterweight and put all the weight on a comfort strap. It is light but I hate to tighten.
Def a beginner trap, and the position of the headset matters a ton!
But for the record I do not have this problem with the Quest 2 from meta.
are u talking about the button on the top right of the headset that moves the lenses further or closer to you?
You adjust front for image quality and back bandage for comfort. Not sure why some doesn't get clear image, either their headset is faulty or they are faulty.
Ya I get some text up then move my headset back and forward, find the sweetspot, then good to go
I thought it would be if your hair is oily like r something
I repeat the eye tracking/ eye adjustment b4 every use GT7 RE8 & KAYAK VR SHOWED ME THE POWER OF THIS HEADSET, ITS ALL ABOUT THE NEW GAMES TO COME, THE POSSIBILITIES ARE INCREDIBLE.
Those 3 and Pavlov are the games I'm playing as well. New to VR and loving it
I’m new to VR and Kayak was the first VR game I ever purchased. It’s amazing but made me sick within minutes. I had to lay down and passed out 🤣
@@treeman_mj you have to give vr time. For the first 2 weeks play in 15-30 minute intervals, eventually it will go away and you can play very long sessions. Also aiming a fan at ur face helps. Been playing vr for 7 years and it's alot of fun, but some of the newness does wear off, unfortunately.
@@kevinford6372 thanks for the tips ☑️
For some reason my vision is a bit blurry for horizon but .. for The walking dead that shit is CRISPY!!!
It can take A LOT of time to put it on properly to fit you personally. It might be frustrating but once you get it. It truly does fit perfectly
@@Got-2B-Said maybe so.
I'm near sighted as well, but I can't see jack crap in a VR without contacts or glasses on.
I’ve seen numerous post of people complaining about the bluriness. Many even said they were returning the PSVR 2 over it
Quick tip: you can access the headset adjustment screen from the card in the quick menu. It's a lot quicker than going into setting.
Especially for me; I like to adjust it every time I put it on.
Thank you I needed this comment
Oh great tip!
What's a card
@@LooseyGooseyGander5 you can access this 'card' by pressing the PS home button on your controller. Hard to describe it, but 'card' is as good a term as anything.
@@supercededman what th ru talking about
The tilt everyone, that's what did it for me after everything else was set.
The optics in VR headsets actually places the screen optically over 5 feet away so that is why you need to wear your glasses if you are short sighted.
I had a problem with blurriness. Following this fixed it. I am now obsessed with my PSVR2. Love it! ❤Thank you 🙏🏻
Love to hear it! :D
And after every lens clean too
@@PinkGirl2242 Good point! I always end up cleaning the lenses before every session (almost on a daily basis).
I can’t even read the game icons or the time on the top right corner in the home screen. It’s not just you. The edge to edge clarity is an issue.
Only clear in the center when i am in the 2d ps5 menu. Close to 100% edge to edge lens clarity while playing 3D vr scenes
I played horizon for about 20 mins and was near sick :( do u not get that??
@@stephenhamilton9791 I did to until I put it in comfort mode, which reduces fov. If you're using the stick to rotate the camera, try setting it to flick rather than smooth. Those two changes got rid of the motion sickness completely for me in horizon.

Most people won’t have put on a VR headset full stop.
"Clearest", but not clear as people expect and as Sony touted.
@Roman plays. No because in reality you don't have to move your head for it not to be blurry, you si.ply just look at it
@@youareasock9752 That's how it works in PSVR2. That's what 'Foveated rendering' is. I mean the guy even goes over it in this video
@@Romanplaystation I guess I expected too much, already returned it.
When I play Grand Turismo 7 or even MW2 (it's just like having a larger screen to look at, it's not VR compatible)
I have to actually shift my head to get the corners of the screen to focus.
When I just look to the corner with my eyes it's still out of focus and doesn't get clear until I actually turned my head directly to that area of the screen.
(Yes, the eye tracking is calibrated)
Has anyone else's experienced this?
Yes, because fresnel lenses are garbage.
I wish I knew how to fix it
@@Superhyuman yup, 100% my feelings on it
its the MURA that also makes the picture unclear, and you cant do nothing about that.. Its a real pitty it ruins it for me..
If you try all this and its still bad, may be worth looking into (pun intended)
A friend of mine actually discovered he's short sighted because he found my prescription lenses on my quest 2 gave better visuals than without.
I agree those bitching about the headset either shut up or return it. Simple really.
A viable upgrade if you already own a PS5.
Sharp as hell?
Have you been gaming on a CRT tv all this time? 😂
@Caio compared to other headsets it is pretty sharp. It looks quite a bit more crisp than my Quest 2. But it is tougher to find the sweet spot.
Don't expect a headset to be as sharp and detailed as a TV.
Sharp as hell? You mean blurry and foggy as hell?
I’m surprised no one is talking about the blurriness.
Users are. Reviewers are not. Very frustrating when you can't trust a reviewer as this issue is in every game, all the time and is utterly jarring.
Yeah, I think you're right. I'm having the exact same issue, unfortunately.
@@JSkeleton that’s the lens distortion not the eye tracking.
Double check that you have 120hz enabled as well I did that and immediately noticed a difference
Props to Sony for pointing out to all the people who actually need lazer eye treatment 😄
I struggle to read text menus in vr that’s my only problem everything else looks good
Focal point in VR is quite far.
Lens adjustment and device placement on the face at the same time can give an optimal image
are we playing the same PSVR2 ? i have no issues with blurriness
Yep. Many people have this issue.

@@Mr-uw9hb I have been having that too. Not sure why…

En los juegos se ve bien ,y en la pantalla de inicio de ps5 o configuración se ve medio borrosa verdad?

That’s the vignette and can be turned down or off in the options of the game
Some games have this feature to prevent sickness, some people feels bad in transports or in VR experiences.
100% agreed. Thought I got a dud headset. Good to know its not just me.
Yes, you are absolutely right, I am little disappointment.
I hear synth Riders is good to showcase the crisp OLED colours and blacks.
Its vr...you never tried it?
Some light blur mainly texts is normal or not?
Is there a difference between in-game graphics and the menu view?
ive tried almost everything to get the sweet spot and its still not the best quality even when i find it. im wearing glasses and everything but maybe i need to go for another eye test. idk. is there a certain order in which i should do things? like adjust visibilty first or move lenses furher from eyes?
any help will be much appreciated
thanks
Surprised so many people still don't know about the sweet spot with a VR Headset. They're probably not getting the optimal experience and they don't even realise this.
Regardless thanks for the video.
Great workaround, had to find these out yesterday by myself when mine arrived
If you wear glasses and have contacts you can wear your contacts too. If you don’t want to risk scratching your lens on the headset.
I'm always nervous about my glasses touching the lenses and scuffing one or both so I keep a piece of foam taped between the psvr lenses to prevent touching.
that's actually a low tier top tip....needs to be pinned to the top of this
I used lens cleaner on mine as there were some marks on it (hmmmmmm) .
They are fresnel lenses…halo effect is normal. You have to spend over $1100 for pancake lenses to eliminate that halo effect.
Just looking at the headset on my desk made me feel sick.
i have anti glare on my glasses but i still get a lot of glare. really frustrating wearing glasses
This advice seems so simple, but even after paying a lot of attention while I initially calibrated, it turned out the near-sightedness was my issue. I only have to wear glasses for driving on the highway or in a large classroom setting. However VR works (this is my first experience with PSVR2) is actually just like real life for me; my eyes suck at any distance and same here :)
Popped on my glasses and it's super crisp. Thanks so much @JSkeleton!
Glad I could help!
This headset literally prompted me to get an eye exam. Turns out I’m near sighted as well haha. Glasses on the way
I received my PSVR2 saturday and I thought that the IQ was just Ok in the center, but not so great everywhere else.
Same here !!!!!!!
resident evill vilage when youre are playing an look at your hands can you see them perfectly like when playing the normal resident evil ?
No, they look really out of focus to me. The rest of the game looks fine but hands and guns etc looks very soft.
Is it possible to keep the hud in GT7 VR?
This is my first vr headset so I'm not sure if this is just gow it's supposed to look. The image looks like a better version of the 3ds screen. It's sharper, but it still has this odd fuzzy look. It's less like it's out of focus and more like it's just a byproduct of the stereoscopic 3d.
Would be nice if Sony developed PSVR2 'profiles' - So it saves the settings for friends or partners - Eye tracking I'm thinking, not the adjustments on the headset itself.
It seems to save it to the regular user profile. Switched user and had to do first steps again
@@Falco20019 Ah that's good to know. Thanks!
Yep, my glasses make a lot of difference for me. More than they do in real life.
NO issue with blurry but why do TH-camrs ignore the SDE diffusion layer that gives the screen a dirty texture look.
Because they are sponsored.
@@lambro3001 ginger tabs will help until your brain gets use to it.
Fresnel lenses will always look best when you are looking through the center. My quest 2 was the same, generally moving your head and centering what you want to look at will be sharper than looking toward the edges of the lenses
I have Black circle around when playing horizen that keeps zooming when moving. Any idea how to remove Black circle?
Ah advice for making the Mura/grain less noticeable?
Great video! A quick question: do the lenses have a bit of play to them? Like it rattles ever so alrighty if you shake it around?
Mine seem to, so either we both have faulty units or that's normal haha
@@JSkeleton Ok so I’m not the only one 😅 dude I just want to say thank you for the tips you suggested in the other video about how to avoid getting motion sickness. PSVR2 is the first ever VR headset I’ve used and on the day I got it my wife and I went straight into Kayak VR without thinking too much of it and almost immediately we got motion sickness and was really put off.
But your video + the kind community on Reddit really encouraged us and we had a fantastic day today playing Puzzling Pieces with a fan in front of us and having ginger candies without any negative effects.
So big thanks from us to you! Already subbed to your channel 😊
Anyone found a way to increase the contrast? Its far too washed out with the default settings for an OLED
THIS is the video I’ve been waiting on. Well done Sir! Helped me TREMENDOUSLY!!! Earned a sub and I will be sharing this to others. Have a good one brother.
Was your problem that you didn’t find the correct sweet spot?
I returned mine because I thought it was a faulty device but they told me it works how it should.
On my end almost everything was blurry and the foveated rendering didn’t work at all.
Please tell me how your experience was
Love to hear that it helped you out! Thanks, my friend!
It’s blurry everywhere except where the headset is pointed. This thing needs a firmware update. Right now it’s not working as advertised.
Aren't all headsets like that? My Quest 2 is the same...if I move my eyeballs and look to all the sides in the headset it will be blurry.
That’s bs with no base in reality.
Someone hasn't used the headset clearly
If one requires reading glasses to work on a laptop, will reading glasses be required with the PSVR2?
Beware comments full of people that don't own the headset. Some tinkering is required but the experience and clarity is more than good enough to get lost for hours and hours in games.
Don't let these people put you off a great purchase.
Long story short: my eyes don't focus on the *exact* same point. Not a big deal in life, but a very big deal with the PSVR2 apparently.
I didn't even consider this when I pre-ordered the PSVR2🤦🏾
IDK if anything will help so I might be selling it soon.
I wore glasses and it fixed everything
It got blurry without the glasses, especially when you see far
Those horizon call of the mountain Run at a 120hz ?
I'm going to return my vr2 it's blurry it's not the same image that it mirrors on the tv I think it has a problem I tried everything but the image is not as clear as on the tv screen if anyone has gone through this i would like to know thanks
Eye track things is the one a needed to know, thanks bro
Mine get blurry without my glasses, and it's hard to wear glasses with VR...
I'm doing vision correction surgery in a few months, until then are there any fixes?
Contact lenses.

Thanks for the advice.❤ but can i ask something can i change the graphics in the headset just like in the tv? Well anyway thanks❤👋
Hey what game is that footage from? At 8:33?
