Something I learned is I don't have to tighten the headset too much that I get a headache. Just have to push it back up on occasion like a hat, but its much more comfortable in the long run
Yeah after a couple weeks I'm at the point I don't even have to mess with it much anymore I literally put it on my head make it a little bit tight at worst I got to make a couple minor micro adjustments. This is huge because the first couple days it took me 20 minutes to get it right
I'm so glad you mentioned the text and I think that was a huge mistake by Sony. The absolute worst way to do the setup for this headset is to run white lettering on a black background. All that does is exasperate every flaw in the headset the second you put it on. It was so bad to the point where I was so discouraged I thought the headset was going to be completely trash. I am happy to say that one's game started running and I got it adjusted it is perfectly fine. But if Sony was smart they would redo that whole setup with a colorful background. Going black on white with lettering does nothing but highlight God rays and Mura, which sucks because neither one of the issues are bad in game
Also, an easy way to check if the headset is properly positioned (even after checking the visibility/IPD), is pressing that passthrough button and checking the center text-box to ensure there’s little to no chromatic aberration and it reads as clear as possible… and just another tip for people with dry eyes/blepharitis… eye drops - a life saver, I always lubricate my eyes before jumping into VR, it helps a lot with clarity and blurriness for me.

@@nathanlawson313 I had psvr1 as well, I think it conditioned me to think I knew where it would sit on my head, but it actually is a bit higher up than expectedc. I have gotten a bit better at finding the sweet spot but still struggle with that a bit more than VR1.
Of course it is not blurry in the flat screen menu, the blurriness is in the in-car vr view. Huge difference than in non-vr view. I tried turning the raytracing to fps priority in settings menu but not sure if it had any effect.
I just look at some text, turn the lens adjustment dial until it gets blurry and then back down til it gets sharp. Not sure if I have to use the lens adjustment menu🤷🏻♂️
Don't know if my right eye is messed up, but my left lense looks perfect, the right one is blurry, but like I said I don't know if it's the lens or my eye
I sent mine back. A good piece of equipment, especially for the price point, but just too much prep and modification needed to enjoy. 2D might be less immersive, but it's also way less hassle and way more consistent. I turn on my PS5, I turn on my OLED, I'm gaming within thirty seconds, it's crystal clear. The whole screen is a sweet spot. No turning down brightness, no chewing gum, no fans, no sweat bands. I'll leave it to you hardcore gamers to endure all that just for a little extra immersion. To me it's just not worth it
Going to try turning down that brightness…. There are times when I struggle to dial in the headset just right.. I have a caveman like brow ridge that I feel like maybe makes it difficult lol
I'm gonna start turning the brightness down more often. I don't like how increasing the brightness makes objects look more faded and unrealistic. Seems like the brightness hindered the looks of the graphics when I played Switchback VR. Thanks for the advice
Thanks for the tips. I will definately try lowering the brightness / I've seen others recommend that to so sure there's something to it. I'm struggling with getting my lenses clean at the moment as I'm getting 'flares' from the white dot on the black background. Ordered a lens pen but after seeing your video have ordred those wipes to. I've been using MF clothes but they're not doing the trick. Genuine question - how long do you find a Mr Siga cloth last? Do you wash and reuse?
Its possible that you have minor abberations in your vision. If you ever have a starburst effect on bright lights while driving at night whether due to dry eyes or something else, expect it to happen with the headset.
yeah the brightness is a good trick.. i never liked it, just kept about 80% as its recommended..but seems surely not good to keep it so bright in those settings
BUT... its still kinda same bad.. so bad i can even edit my car with it, ibjuet take it off and use the tv while creating livery... and the problem is static blurriness that doesnt move according to ur eyes. Here to refuce it, MUST move whole head to center it with them cirles in the middle of the lenses 😅 in reality its all done automatically and focus is where we look not where our head is facing at ! 😄🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ to solve this problem they literally has the eye tracking, but somehow not able to make a proper ai that blures the vision according to eyes movement. And field of clear view is bigger than those circles they made. Atm if u dont move ur head but move ur eyes instead to look arround- it will be bad.( No straight edges, colour shifting and that grain kinda filter view..) best seen in the options page... as i said..such view i seen in the 90s 😅 maybe even late 80s on kassete games 🤣🤣 And it makes at least me, slower about 1sec in a medium lenght lap.. ! 😅
I hope there is a solution for the nose. I feel like the headset presses on my nose-bone, and it hurts through the time of playing. If there is a solution for that or any kind of accessory to replace the one on the headset to get more comfortable for the nose, I will be very thankful.
I have tons of blurriness in GT7 on the top menu. If I’m looking straight at the cafe or coliseum the top menu is very blurry. It only comes into focus if I tilt my head up to look at it. Is that normal?
I find it odd that I can read texts perfectly but for some reason, games still look blurry when up close. For example, in GT7, texts are crispy sharp but in the vr showroom I can barely read things on the car's dashboard. Also, foveated rendering doesn't seem to be working for me. Only the center of the screen looks sharp. When I look around, the surrounding area is blurry. Maybe a faulty unit? Cause I've taken quite a time learning to adjust things but nothing seems to work. btw, first time with a vr headset.
@@Kireth Guess I'm gonna need to have my eyes checked. Probably I'm one of those who find out the need for glasses after trying VR. 😅 Thanks for the reply!
I've tried everything to get the lenses clean. The only thing that works for me is breathing on them to fog them up and then quickly wiping them down a few times. You need to clean the grease off the perimeter first otherwise you're just spreading it around. I hope they keep improving the clarity of GT7, it's pretty damn blurry no matter how good you get the headset seated on your face.
False. When you find the sweet spot in GT7, whatever you’re looking it is just as clear as the native game. The lenses have a tiny sweet spot but it’s there
@jasgill7121 clear as the native game???? 😂 Someone needs to get their eyes checked. I have 20/20 vision and the game is very blurry. Its due to the lack of power of the ps5 and the headset hardware limitations. No amount of magic circular motion rubbing will fix that. I still have a great experience with it though. Ps5 pro cant come soon enough. That way we will get better rendering at anything past 3 mtrs and a native 90fps to get rid of the dodgy reprojection. That in itself would clean the image up massively
Not sure, for the rest it's good quality. Same if i record, difficult to read the time (length) it recorded when i stop the recording. Could this be due to mura?🤔
@@Kireth rubbing the microfibre cloth gently I assume?🤞🏽 ps thanks for the video as I’m going to give the brightness thing a go and turn it down as I have had cataract surgery and have trioccular lenses in my eyes.

For example how do i reconize it and how will i know its to much? Tia
I made a post about lowering the brightness on reddit but ended up deleting as I go bombarded with comments with people saying I was an HDR noob and how it removes HDR as you lower the brightness lol so idk I rather have it less blurry or find a middle?
is it essential to have a good vision eyes? my vision is a little blurry in the distance, but normally it's enough, so i don't wear glasses. i tried HTC Vive and PSVR1. with Vive everything was alright, but in PSVR picture was massively blury. i tried everything Sony representative suggested me and everything i found in internet (i found a lot), but still had no improvement. to ensure it's not a defect, i bought it once again in a largest DIY chain shops in my country, but experience was just the same. that time i met a comment, where owner of PSVR stated, that it's really require to have a good vision eyes to see clear image in it
exactly this is true. Simple correct contacts could improve your experience massively or even a prescription lense cover. Worth a shot. I've seen a couple reddit threads on it.
that's most likely doing to the positioning. It must be very tight in your head, pressing the button on the front left and bringing it closer. The tighten the thing on the back to stabilize it.
Do you need a 4K TV to use the PSVR2? I can’t select HDR for the PSVR2 because it says “Your TV is not compatible”. It’s only 1080p. Could this be one of the reasons that mine looks very blurry?
Is it normal that when I close my left eye the image gets more blurry, when I open my right eye end close the left it gets sharp again. With both eyes open its sharp, just not outer edges.
the foveated rendering can very likely not tell where you are looking without both eyes opened OR it prioritizes one eye for the algorithm and if that isn't tracking it won't determine a focal point
Ive had to manually put the output of the headset at a 120hz. Maybe not everyone, but it’s worth checking out. It’s kind of a weird proces where you have to turn it off the 120hz option in the ps menu for the the tv and then proceed to turn it on in the headset 120hz setting. Afterwards you can turn the tv back to 120 aswel.
When Im playing in the evening and sitting in a car. The camera often moves itself. I think it my cameratracking which is effected. But I can’t figure out if I need to make my room brighter or a dim room is ok🤷🏻♂️
Its a tracking issue there is a setting in the VR2 menu that puts a ring around your tv to help it track better its supposed to help with that drifting like that. You will know if you have that setting turned on when you are in pass threw cause you can see this crazy looking ring around the edge of the tv screen. I just looked and its called tracking assist
@@JMP816 I know what you mean, and yes drifting is the right word. But tracking assist is already on. But my lights are behind where Im sitting. Maybe I need some more lights in front of me, too.
@@MadsHilde I shut off all the lights in my room and tracking assist on and also have LED accent lights behind the tv on no problems with tracking or drifting. Is it possible that the controller is drifting ?
I don’t have far apart eyes… but apparently my head is fucking huge because on the widest setting, my eyes barely fit. No wonder my shits always blurry.
I’ve tried everything unfortunately and the bottom line for me is the PSVR has been a huge disappointment. I was so hyped for it but got sucked in by a lot of the videos on TH-cam (not including Kireth in that as he’s been honest) that raised my expectations. I’m barely playing it already. 😢
Screen brightness does not do anything with the mura or 'chromatic aberration', to be fair it only diminishes the hdr effect. I've noticed mura more the lower brightness I set but I still play at around 70% bc my eyes hurt from max brightness. The chromatic aberration and unclear image comes from the way Sony has chosen to arrange the subpixels within a pixel - they've used PENTILE instead of full RGB strip oled thus reducing perceived clarity of the image (less subpixels per pixel). This has an advantage of smaller screen door effect but the image is not as clear even if the games run in relatively high res. Overall I still think they've made the right compromise to hit the price range.
I'm not stuggling with the headset, it is not blurry if I have it on okay and the IPD set up. If this is another video about adjusting the IPD and eye tracking, I'm giving you a thumbs down... Not that obvious? Sorry I think it is very obvious to align your eyes as close to the centre of the blue circles. I agree that the brightness seems to affect things. Shame there is no half thumb.
This should NOT be that damn hard ... Sony should have known better then to launch in this condition and figured out what the problems were and FIX them to give VR it's best chance . They always seem to only be half assing their efforts and don't really care about the tech enough to do it "right " . I planned on getting just to support VR itself but just too many out of the box issues for me to waste my money on a damn WIRED headset that has issues that effect how I play personally across the board . I am sticking with pcvr and quest and hope that Sony at some point brings out a wireless headset with cameras in the right place and controllers without the dumbest track rings on the planet... I was willing to put up with ALL that but when I found out that it is making 6 year veterans motion sick from turning that was the last damn straw for me . I turn physically in everything VR , a wire makes this a pain but not impossible ..but there are just so many other issues outside of the stupid wire that they did NOT have to use btw. They COULD have hired a dude named Guy Godin that made Virtual Desktop and the ONLY reason we have functioning WIRELESS PCVR atm , he made all of our snowflake different computers function with wireless pcvr so forcing a dedicated device to connect to a dedicated device would be literal child's play for him or anyone smart enough they paid enough to figure it out but didn't think VR was worth the investment as far as Sony was concerned. Hell if they really researched the tech they would NEVER have put right angles past the cameras where the tracking gets lost as soon as you go past the headset , quest has this design down and puts cameras at the corners of beveled edges giving the cameras the widest FOV they can have without being cut off by the damn device itself. I wish Sony could just start over again and do it right .... but a little late for that and not sure they care enough about VR to invest that much into it's progress . Really wanted them to lean in on this headset since the psvr 1 was such a monstrosity and confused people as to where VR has been at for the last 6 YEARS ..... but I think they jumped the gun on the eye tracking and foveated rendering thing as there is NO proof that the benefits are worth the amount of processing power it takes to generate it .... PLUS I don't think they understand the tech well enough to be using it personally...
I loved the PSVR1, For me PSVR2 is such a disappointment its so god dam blurry in comparison. Not a fan of turning down the brightness as youl lose the pop of the HDR!
You are wearing it wrong then. One of my friend was the same and told me he was going to return it and I told him try different way to wear it that might not have been obvious to you and try it for another week. Now he loves it and talking to me about it all the time. For me I had to wear it way higher than I expected, like my nose is almost completely out at the bottom.

@@Kireth understand. On closer look however, cinematic GT7 resolution is higher than “game” resolution. The fuzziness seems to come from the game, not the VR2.
Thanks for replying K. 😉
I noticed you aren’t wearing your glasses. Are you wearing lens and does that work better?

The best tutorial about how to set your psvr 2
Got my VR2 yesterday and and it's blurry. I never would have guessed the brightness. I knew about the first 3. Let me try this...
You gotta put it on right. Its not blurry. Its not a 4k tv but its pretty damn clear for a vr headset
@@ActNasty5 I've had VR1 for 4 years. That's what I'm saying, I know how to adjust it on my head. Mine is still just blurry
@@nathanlawson313 weird
Go for it!!
@@nathanlawson313 I had psvr1 as well, I think it conditioned me to think I knew where it would sit on my head, but it actually is a bit higher up than expectedc. I have gotten a bit better at finding the sweet spot but still struggle with that a bit more than VR1.
thanks for the video this might help me when i get my psvr2.
Of course it is not blurry in the flat screen menu, the blurriness is in the in-car vr view. Huge difference than in non-vr view. I tried turning the raytracing to fps priority in settings menu but not sure if it had any effect.
Foggy lenses will make everything blurry
You should use an air can to blow the lenses before using a cloth. Air removes debris that could scratch the lens when using micro fiber
worked for me, thanks a lot!
Awesome to hear Fred!!
I just look at some text, turn the lens adjustment dial until it gets blurry and then back down til it gets sharp. Not sure if I have to use the lens adjustment menu🤷🏻♂️
What brightness do you recommend? Getting mine next week planning to put it between 25% to 50% brightness.
50-60 but still experimenting
Thats too low just bring it back four clicks after that you will start to lose detail in darker scenes
Don't know if my right eye is messed up, but my left lense looks perfect, the right one is blurry, but like I said I don't know if it's the lens or my eye
get an eye test I say!
Great tricks Kireth! Can't wait to finally try PSVR2 🙂
Is it just mine or is there like a film effect when you really focus that moves around. Almost like the lenses have a film on the that isn’t there?
this is normal. its called mura
It's on every single unit. If someone says they don't have it they need their eyes checked or they're lying.
they had an update recently past couple weeks that improved the blurriness I noticed
Great tips. Thanks man
Np!!
To me it's just not worth it
Damn sorry to hear this Travis but at least you know you gave it a shot!
Lol i dont need any of that. Press power, put on headphones, sweetspot in 10sec, start to play. (Roughly 30sec longer than flat games)
I agree it's a novelty item I think it's fun from time to time , but for daily racing I'd rather just get to it, hop in my rig turn on the OLED.
@@Therubbersluggchannel its not a novelty at all!
Another comment from someone that probably never actually got one 😂
Going to try turning down that brightness…. There are times when I struggle to dial in the headset just right.. I have a caveman like brow ridge that I feel like maybe makes it difficult lol
Anyone else hearing Ain't no Sunshine by Bill Withers?
🤔🤔 this kinda confirms why im getting better image quality with lower brightness on my pico4
Could be!
I’m glad I returned it back to Sony. Received the refund today. Glad I tried, but it’s not something for me.
Maybe you need glasses and not aware of your vision is not as good as it used to be.
You gave it a shot Tom!
I put my brightness down to about 25%, outside VR on flat screen it is fairly drab but ingame it is fine for brightness.
BUT... its still kinda same bad.. so bad i can even edit my car with it, ibjuet take it off and use the tv while creating livery... and the problem is static blurriness that doesnt move according to ur eyes.
Atm if u dont move ur head but move ur eyes instead to look arround- it will be bad.( No straight edges, colour shifting and that grain kinda filter view..) best seen in the options page... as i said..such view i seen in the 90s 😅 maybe even late 80s on kassete games 🤣🤣
And it makes at least me, slower about 1sec in a medium lenght lap.. ! 😅

Nope just towel!

Thanks man!! 🙌🙌🙌
Yeah man displaying the adjustment screen I think will be extremely helpful to those that just threw it on with out hitting the setting first
I hope there is a solution for the nose.
No - adjust your headset position
I find it odd that I can read texts perfectly but for some reason, games still look blurry when up close. For example, in GT7, texts are crispy sharp but in the vr showroom I can barely read things on the car's dashboard.
Also, foveated rendering doesn't seem to be working for me. Only the center of the screen looks sharp. When I look around, the surrounding area is blurry. Maybe a faulty unit? Cause I've taken quite a time learning to adjust things but nothing seems to work.
btw, first time with a vr headset.
That's not right, is your prescription up to date?
@@Kireth Guess I'm gonna need to have my eyes checked. Probably I'm one of those who find out the need for glasses after trying VR. 😅
Thanks for the reply!
The lenses have a tiny sweet spot but it’s there
yea also wonder about eyesight issues
@jasgill7121 clear as the native game???? 😂
Someone needs to get their eyes checked.
Clear as the native game? lol
@@jasgill7121 huge downgrade gt4 looked smoother
It's weird when this is content... this is standard use, habits. It's not the vr problem it's use and individuals experience
Weird
At 5:40, how did you quickly access this menu?
hold options iirc
My headset is crystal clear with my other games like Pavlov, Thumper and Pistol Whip so I'm guessing it's a software issue rather than hardware right?
You forgot to tell people to clean their glasses too (if they wear them) ;)
Top tip!!
Well i kind of have the issue that text is readable, but seems as if there is some shade over it, which makes it a bit unclear. Tips?
Mura?
Not sure, for the rest it's good quality. Same if i record, difficult to read the time (length) it recorded when i stop the recording. Could this be due to mura?🤔
Erm? Gently or firmly 🤔
What?
@@Kireth rubbing the microfibre cloth gently I assume?🤞🏽 ps thanks for the video as I’m going to give the brightness thing a go and turn it down as I have had cataract surgery and have trioccular lenses in my eyes.

psvr3 needs to be mechanised self adjusting and self lense cleaning.
is it essential to have a good vision eyes? my vision is a little blurry in the distance, but normally it's enough, so i don't wear glasses. i tried HTC Vive and PSVR1. with Vive everything was alright, but in PSVR picture was massively blury. i tried everything Sony representative suggested me and everything i found in internet (i found a lot), but still had no improvement. to ensure it's not a defect, i bought it once again in a largest DIY chain shops in my country, but experience was just the same. that time i met a comment, where owner of PSVR stated, that it's really require to have a good vision eyes to see clear image in it
exactly this is true. Simple correct contacts could improve your experience massively or even a prescription lense cover. Worth a shot. I've seen a couple reddit threads on it.
@@scottd7222 thank you very much!
If real life is blurry PSVR2 will be blurry
Of course we have glowing text in PSVR2 ?
that's most likely doing to the positioning. It must be very tight in your head, pressing the button on the front left and bringing it closer. The tighten the thing on the back to stabilize it.
Like deployed 👍

Do you need a 4K TV to use the PSVR2? I can’t select HDR for the PSVR2 because it says “Your TV is not compatible”. It’s only 1080p. Could this be one of the reasons that mine looks very blurry?
Yes
screen brightness is huge.
Underrated1
Is it normal that when I close my left eye the image gets more blurry, when I open my right eye end close the left it gets sharp again. With both eyes open its sharp, just not outer edges.
I’m not an optometrist lol but your left eye is prob weaker than your right eye
the foveated rendering can very likely not tell where you are looking without both eyes opened OR it prioritizes one eye for the algorithm and if that isn't tracking it won't determine a focal point
That setting is only for cinematic mode. Does nothing for in game vr
Only for cinematic mode.

When Im playing in the evening and sitting in a car. The camera often moves itself. I think it my cameratracking which is effected. But I can’t figure out if I need to make my room brighter or a dim room is ok🤷🏻♂️
your room must be bright, either sunlight or switch the lights on.

@@MadsHilde I shut off all the lights in my room and tracking assist on and also have LED accent lights behind the tv on no problems with tracking or drifting. Is it possible that the controller is drifting ?

Higher brightness introduce more motion blurr is true.
Millking these blurry videos mate lol
The only blurry that i have is on no man's sky. And its not our fault.

@@mattyork7625 its basically the ps4 version with better controls.
What? Eye tracking and foveated rendering lessen the processing power needed. That's the whole point of it!
