Wow, I was not expecting that Lana is the reason Kristoph turned to forgering evidence.
That is a nice butterfly effect. 👍
It's a nice thought experiment and a way to show that Lana unintentionally caused a series of events that led to Phoenix losing his badge (even though she didn't realize how much Kristoph had a god complex and hated anyone thinking him to be a fool).
I live how the confrontation with Kristoph went. She most definitely has an uphill battle and now that Kristoph is on to her, I can't wait to see how this is going to play out.

Kristoph is definitely a crafty guy I'll give him that. He managed to turn the whole thing around on her. I like the little backstory you gave on Lana there, that's a nice little addition to include. Also you gotta love Apollo just watching the trial from the gallery, that was a cool easter egg.

That twist was out of the blue, people don't usually remember Rise from the Ashes and the fact that you forgot to mention the obvious Rise from the Ashes spoilers made it even better for the audience to be taken off by suprise.

Yeah. It would make much more sense to show Phoenix had the help of everyone he knew to bring down Kristoph. It would help cement Kristoph even more as the notorious villain he was

Woah this was so good! I really like the Kristoph backstory you added since the game doesn't really do it justice there are all (haha i made a justice pun im so funny). Lana is such an underrated character, I'm glad you're exploring her potential more!
Ever since the poll you made, I knew Kristoph would easily deflect Lana's prods and accusations. He's a master of deception and turning words, after all. I'm certain Lana would return with a better hand of cards eventually, but for now, things will have to simmer as both sides focus on their next move.
I do love how you integrated both Lana and Kristoph's past together, being chained by Gant's influence and that causing both to go down the paths they walked. Lana for protecting Ema, and Kristoph for learning a bitter truth, even if not fully understood.
Amazing job as always, Sebeste. I can't wait for the follow up for the Dance of Deduction video (or whatever you come up with next as well), but please, do take your time. I'd hate to see you lose motivation for this stuff.

This was amazing! Kristoph and Lana's backstory was certainly unexpected but a really awesome addition! Seeing Lana's inner dialogue was also fascinating! This was a freaking masterpiece. I love how this tied in with Gavin's backstory! Tying them together and having Gavin's motive for forgery be the result of Lana's past is so freaking clever! Adding to the effects of the rise from the ashes story and also adding motive to Gavin's character that makes logical sense! Bro, you did a strait up BANGER of a job and dropped a bombshell once again! I look forward to seeing more! 😃

This fits really well into canon!
This was an interesting watch. Seeing these two characters engage in a battle of wits was pretty exciting to me. However, I was not expecting for Lana to be one of the driving factors for why Kristoph became the corrupt defense attorney he is now. I’ve often theorized that him losing an earlier trial to dirty methods must have caused him to come to the conclusion that he had to play dirty as well if he wanted to achieve victory in every trial, except it was Manfred Von Karma instead of Lana. That and I always theorized that Aristotle Means was Kristoph’s teacher back when he was learning law since it was implied in Case 5-3 that Klavier went there since he knew the victim of that case, but Kristoph was so overconfident in his abilities that he felt he did not initially believe he needed to use Means’ “the end justifies the means” style of defense until this trial. Great video and sorry if I crammed this comment with too many of my own theories on connecting characters in the Ace Attorney universe.
I thought about Means being Kristoph's teacher too, but then I thought that since Means is about 6-7 years older than Lana, there was a chance that he wasn't a professor yet back when Kristoph was starting his career. Imagine that in 2017, Means was about 34 years old, so I thought maybe he was a bit too young to be a professor (given that both him and Constance Courte were in their late 40s at the time of Dual Destinies). So I scrapped the idea xD

Bravo, sir!(Although now that I think about it, why did Kristoph vote against, because on one side he knew from experience what's it like to be on the wrong side of forgery so there's the empathy factor, on the other side how did Kristoph knew Phoenix was innocent, or did he vote to have some sort of trump card in his hand, for the future...)
I think Kristoph voted against Wright's disbarment simply because 1) he knew everyone else would vote for, so Wright's disbarment was guaranteed no matter what he voted, and 2) he wanted to pretend to be the only one who believed in Wright so he would gain his trust and keep a close eye on him. Keep your friends close, your enemies closer

Yeah, at first I was having Kristoph simply insult Lana for her past with Gant but I thought that it wasn't personal enough and Kristoph's words weren't having enough impact. But after making him one of Lana's court victims everything went smoothly xD

You know Rise from the Ashes really is a Underrated case intended to be DS due to Japan having AA1 on GBA so they would think its pointless to have it again on DS but thanks to that case it became worth it and then shipped it (Heavily Localized annoyingly mind you we love Miso Raman here too darn it!) here to the states we gotta thank this add-on case for giving us the Skye Siblings and thanks to that this Sensible fanfic was made as a Character Redemption of Lana and her Crew as Detectives again ill say again thank you for making this I really do love the AA community greatly
And I Imagine the Jury would look even less kindly on Barok when it is Revealed that Genshin was not the Professor but Klint WAS, meaning that Barok potentially sent an innocent man to his grave, while the execution was supposed to be staged and Stronghart and JIgoku were going to dig Genshin up before he ran out of oxygen, Enoch Drebber happened to stumble upon Genshin getting out of his grave by accident and Stronghart and Jigoku murder Genshin because of that. So the Jury would think that overall, Barok caused Genshin's death.
It would be something if the Judicial system no longer trusts Barok as a Prosecutor anymore, let alone the Jury. And even more if they don't trust him enough to let him live after those truths are revealed.
I Imagine that Naruhodo would have an uphill battle against both the Jury and Judicial System not only to save Barok's life but to absolve him of the majority of wrongdoing and point it to the right group of people who are really guilty, Stronghart and Jigoku.

7:09 OBJECTION! Your Honor, if this were to be canonically accurate, it would create a massive contradiction! During the Misham Trial in AJ, Kristoph gets off the hook by saying he murdered Shadi Enigmar with no motive and claiming not to know his true identity. Nonetheless, here, he inmediately acknowledges him as Zak Gramarye, which would explain his grudge. The presumption of truthfulness is a right held by persons endowed with public authority in the performance of their duties, this would include Lana, who was reinstated to the Police in this scenario. Therefore, Apollo would have simply called her as a witness in the trial to verify Kristoph knew Enigmar's true identity, thus proving him guilty of the Misham murder by following a thread of logical assumptions from that fact. I rest my case :) (Nonetheless, I loved the video, please keep doing this stuff)
I think I've told someone else already, Kristoph and everyone knew that Zak Gramarye's real name was Shadi Enigmar. But when Zak reappeared in 2026 and Kristoph killed him, he appeared as "Shadi Smith", his fake identity. And Kristoph pretended he didn't know that this "Shadi Smith" was Shadi Enigmar.
But this vid takes place in 2020, when Zak hadn't taken the fake identity of Shadi Smith yet.
I mean, I don't think there's a contradiction about that specific part 😅

Hey Debastian Sebeste, another thing about Twisted Karma and Ryunosuke's Resolve is that they didn't have a jury, but If you ever do a video covering those episodes, I think I would like a video of what it would be like if Barok van Zieks WAS tried by a jury and they are trying him for Gregson's Murder, The Mastermind of the Reaper Killings and the Professor Case and potential framing of Genshin Asogi of being the Professor since the man Genshin killed was Klint, Barok's own brother..
It would be interesting to see what kind of Judicial findings the jury comes up with if they decide they have heard enough and they want to hang Barok and how Naruhodo would have to fight the jury to save Barok's life. I imagine that the Jury probably would not look favorably on Barok when it is learned that he also overlooked the fact that Klint had no tissue damage and yet he never objected to Genshin's ring since it had sharp claws that would have cut Klint's throat and stomach if he really swallowed it so they would think he was the Professor Mastermind since his own personal feelings and love and desire to avenge his brother Klint caused him to potentially frame an international study tour student Genshin to in Barok's own mind avenge his own brother Klint.
The ending should’ve had Portsman reference his liking for basketball when Shomes said he was a boxer, and retort with something like, “I’m a pro sports player too, let’s meet by the ring, the BASKETBALL ring!”
That would have been fun, but it would make the outro too long and I prefer to keep them short xD

If there is something that makes me laugh in the saga, it is how they present the beginning of the "Dark Age of Law" as the same year Phoenix was disbarred and Simon was arrested, when literally in thw first game of the saga there was various cases of corruption, forgeries, blackmail, and even deaths inside the world of law.

Well, he would certainly get Ema on his tail if he did that. Plus, he would be doubly suspect once the Misham family incident happened. Although, this plotline could certainly lead Kristoph to come up with a way to screw Lana. Maybe do something to have her lose her badge. At the very least.
Given her time under Gant's blackmailing, she is indeed pretty discredited. It wouldn't take much effort for Kristoph to ruin her.

I like to imagine the MASON system was just Phoenix’s synopsis of events to get the jurors up to speed. The way this and the previous video were presented, it’s basically the actual investigation process.

What if Dahlia Hawthorne was the defendant and Kristoph's client during his first trial? Mia convicted her for Doug murder over the poisoned medicine, but there was no evidence that she killed Doug herself. Kristoph could have thought she was innocent (maybe she seduced him into taking her case) and that it would be easy to get her off the hook because "evidence is everything". Then, Lana used forged evidence and Dahlia was sentenced to death. Kristoph decided that Mr. Means teachings were right after all. Also, Lana was friend with Mia, the attorney who, in Kristoph's eyes, got Dahlia unjustly convicted instead of Phoenix by bluffing. This would start Kristoph's initial dislike of Mia and Phoenix. Then, it all snowballed over the years until Kristoph was the irredeemably corrupt attorney full of hatred towards Phoenix who got him disbarred.

Most probably yes. I imagine that the way the story plays out, Lana will eventually feel at least partially responsible for Kristoph. Sure he was a psycho himself who was ready to play dirty in order to achieve his ambitions, but it was Lana's forgery that made him go down the path he went.
I suppose we'll see how it goes xD

Ah, fuck... Well, that didn't go as well as I'd hoped. Funny as it was to see Klavier mistake Lana for a Gavinners fan only to get shot down just as fast, it was infuriating to see Kristoph completely flip things around on Lana. While I'm unfortunately not surprised he was affected by her evidence-forging, it's that much worse to see him not even acknowledge that it was entirely under duress because of Gant. She wouldn't have done any of it if the bastard wasn't threatening her with implicating Ema for murder. It still frustrates me that this game doesn't seem to have coercion or Good Samaritan-related laws of any kind when it can be especially important to a case.
Wonder if that sorta thing would make for a good video, though, making up for at least some of the US laws that the games never mention...
It's not to his best benefit to acknowledge Lana's victimization by Gant. He's fully aware of it, but he elects to ignore it, as all he wants at the moment is to fully discredit Lana and her investigations by bringing back to attention that, for whatever reasons she had, she once resorted to forgery, and therefore she is not a reliable investigator.
Imho he knows pretty well what he's doing in his attempt of self preservation. He tried that against Apollo and Wright too, when he was accused of killing Drew Misham 😅

To be completely honest, Wright is still the one responsible for his psyche locks. Lana is sort of the reason Kristoph decided that playing dirty and resorting to forgery to win is A-OK xD

Obviously some time before Lana was released, since Lana's offenses were far worse than Marshall's

Δυστυχώς από το παιχνίδι είχαμε δει ότι είχε επαφές με τον Κλαβιέρ επειδή ήθελε να τον έχει υπό πλήρη έλεγχο και να τον κάνει manipulate κατά πώς χρειαζόταν. Ακόμα και για αυτό ήταν καθίκι ο Κρίστοφ δυστυχώς :(
One thing that has been bothering me for quite a bit is how most people calls Zak Gramarye as Shadi Enigmar, but wouldn't that mean that by the time Turnabout Trump occurs people would have known Shadi Enigmar is Zak Gramarye? Because in that case is stated that nobody knows anything about him until it's revealed to be Zak Gramarye in Turnabout Succession. I would appreciate if you could answer xD

That's because people knew Zak Gramarye by his *real* name, 'Shadi Enigmar'. But when Zak escaped and went into hiding, he changed his name into the fake identity of 'Shadi Smith'.
Yes, I know it's a very dumb identity change, the dude literally only changed his surname from Enigmar to Smith, he didn't even bother to change his first name. But it's canon that he did it and that no one suspected him :p

Actually I just realised something about why Wright was disbarred over presenting forged evidence as opposed to prosecutors such as even though unknowingly Edgeworth presented forged evidence(e.g. SL9),Manfred von karma etc is because the leaders of the police force and PIC(Damon Gant,Blaise Debeste) is at the top and have huge influences on the outcome of the trial
Whearas for the bar association as of now it is considered’clean’ as there are no cases of bar association members being corrupt and questionable incidents such as Robert Hammond relied on a plea of insanity for Yanni Yogi,and Kristoph is paranoid of lose ends from his crime
And you consider how it is unbelievable a rookie attorney defeated renowned prosecutors at the start of his career and when he presented forged evidence,cemented the belief he had shady dealings for his cases

Honestly, this teamwork is not gonna go well.
Unpopular opinion: I don't like this thing with Lana being the reason why Kristoph forged evidence. It's just messing up the whole Kristoph character and his motive becomes an even bigger mess. But love the series nonetheless.
It's a general misunderstanding of this series, people believe that Kristoph became a bad guy because of Lana (hell, some people even added it as one of the series' tropes on tvtropes lol).
But that's exactly why I added his inner monologue at the end of the video 😅 to show that he was already always a douchebag, and his face-off with Lana simply gave him the excuse he wanted to be as ruthless as he wants in order to achieve his goals.
