I always thought that there was no way for someone eating a glass a bottle previously full of poison to end well. Like the moment that happened they should’ve stopped the trial and called an ambulance. Poisons usually take a while to kick in but even if he hasn’t just been poisoned the man ATE GLASS!
Well, I'm terms of lore it is really angst bc Phoenix really believed in Dahlia and thought she was the love of his life and end being the most painful betrayal in his life, but the way it was showed in the game make it funny and stupid (I think also is a little cute but it's bc I always think in his Feenie era being cute)
I actually really like how Dahlia's shadow loomed over Trials and Tribulations. It's actually scary how effective of a manipulator she is, and whenever I think the Ace Attorney series, she's the character that sticks out in my head.
The Von Karmas have probably ruined more people's lives, but Dahlia is still more hateable because it's so personal, and she affects nearly every major character in some way. And the few she doesn't (Larry, Franziska) are close to people who were affected and probably would know of her. As for final villains outside the first trilogy, all were probably objectively worse (except maybe the Layton crossover, but I know nothing about that game), but again, Dahlia is personal hatred for everybody, along with being just plain evil, and a master manipulator, which, while scary, is entertaining to see. She feels like a person who could be a real, cruel, psychopath (outside of the ghost stuff). That's why she is my favorite villain in the series (Stronghart is second).
I'm almost embarrassed how long it took me to figure out some of those scenes behind the handclaps. Between Pearl reading Morgan's instructions, Phoenix falling from the bridge into the river, and the jagged line behind Edgeworth being a seismograph
I love how you really display everyone Dahlia messed with… and how the ripple effect pulsed out when she got to Mia because Mia was the only one who got away relatively unscathed… you have a lot of talent holy shit
Right? I know the game claims Dahlia's a failure at reaching her goals, but really, the only reason she didn't get away with anything was Mia and Godot (although she did successfully poison Godot). It was Mia who saw through her when she had everyone in the courtroom eating out of hand. It was Mia who gave Maya the idea to channel Dahlia into her body to protect herself. If Godot hadn't interfered, she would have killed Maya and it was Godot who figured out where Maya was and gave Phoenix the hint he needed. I, honestly, don't think Phoenix could've beaten her by himself. He was, after all, just another one of pawns at one point. If it came to a match of wits between the two of them, I think Dahlia would win.
i think mia really only got away unscathed because she died before dahlia could do it herself :( she still watched her little sister go through a lot of grief
i love how in 0:43 and 0:45 everyone’s so happy and then phoenix is down. it captures how he feels knowing all about dahlia and all that happened, not to mention the cold.

OH MY GOD. I would have never thought to put this song with Ace Attorney, but it fits dalia sO PERFECTLY. I love the part where it's like she's squashing them like bugs, but it could also be seen as her clapping as if it's so easy for her to succeed at manipulation. that look in mias eyes, the moment she finally takes down diego, the transitions, the way its like parts of her are always looming, oh my stars I don't have enough words this is just so incredibly cool
I absolutely LOVE how well this captures Dahlia's character. She's always been one of the most notable and iconic villains in the series (Arguably the most iconic) and the fact she manipulated everyone she ever knew, even from beyond the grave, fits the song choice perfectly. For those not well versed in Vocaloid, Mind Brand is a song about an abusive, manipulative relationship and covers both sides of the relationship, the manipulator and the victim. Though the song implies a male manipulator, the song still fits Dahlia To-A-T.
This is very good!!! Showing how phoenix would have been affected by eating the bottle, and idk if it was the intention but the way he looks so listless and tired in the next two pictures is so sad and worrying I love it, the animation is so smooth but aside from that, the choreography (so to speak) of the animation and the way stuff is framed, it's all so good, this is really skillful!!!!!!

Also, if it weren't for Mia, can you imagine the number of people she may have managed to kill ? Not everyone get the death row in this game (Frank Sahwit prouve that murderer don't get the death row, but one of Wocky's statement seem to show that it honestly depend), so who know, maybe she could have killed Phoenix, and by killing him, many other people would have died Iris tearing up made me cry

This is so fantastic! I legitimately can't stop rewatching it. It gets everyone so perfectly- this is amazing and you deserve far more recognition. It's so wonderfully smooth and satisfying to watch! I can't believe that you're not a pro at animating already- or, if not a pro, then at least a fellow frequent animator. The tweening is really nice (my favorites are Diego drinking the coffee and Maya's little hand motions) and the hand-clap transitions- as well as 0:51 to 0:56- are very well done. How it matches the bounciness of the music so perfectly is just gorgeous. Diego/Godot's frames are particularly great. I can't wait to see more updates- and if you're on any other social medias I will follow you in a heartbeat. You'd better believe I'm sticking around to see how you improve in the future!

I just love every single detail of it, how all the parallels between incidents are visualized, the first segment showing all of Dahlia's victims and the next similar bit being everyone affected in the murder- it's TOO GOOD!!!!!
