For a fully loaded compact SUV, this is a solid entry into the car market. If you can get one at a discounted rate it's worth a look. It has good styling that most people can live with.

A Chevy is better than a Toyota? Are you high? I've owned cars by all the big three as well as Toyota and Nissan. The Asian cars win for quality and durability every time in my experience and my extended families experiences.

@@jmay5583 YOU are the fanboy. JD Power is a farce and everyone who knows anything about their car ratings agrees. Misleading and completely useless. Also the ratings are about 1-2 year old vehicles, if the engine blows up after just 3 years it wont affect the rating at all. GM mechanics themselves warn people not to buy the 1.5. I didn’t add a sunroof which I don’t need it at all. Save $$$ if you have something to trade in however it is worth it, you won’t regret having one. Just enjoy the ride it provides. ❤

I did look at the 22 Rav4 @ 22 CRV,but wasn't that impressed. Noisy, didn't like the ride quality. Overall quality is pretty much the same for the class. Just ordered an AWD LS trim, with a bunch of add-on options, great value for money, I looked into other domestic and imports, and although some offered tougher, more powerfull drive trains, their prices we out to lunch, with very few standard features. The truth is that GM screwed customers with the earlier 2.4 4cyl models, that had a bunch of problems, but this new model, with the 1.5L turbo engine has been sorted out.

I've been doing a lot of used car test drives. The Equinox Premier with the Confidence & Convenience II Package applies driver technology through their mix of Infotainment self-park technologies in intuitive ways by combining just the right functionality into the Infotainment center and leaving the some out of it where it is better. Today's vehicles are rolling blind spots. IMO they should ALL be required by law to have the 360-degree surround vision and blind spot detection at minimum. There was a time when Toyota and Honda stood well above the rest for being a good gamble for long life and few surprises. Lately they've been sleeping at the switch which in an advancing market means competition catching up and surpassing integrating new technology, design, and quality. With reliability and long-life becoming much more common. For their pricing and what they deliver, they are supported in large part by the past reputation they have earned, and not so much what is current. Kia, Mazda, etc. have earned mind share to where how much Honda and Toyota can under-deliver for the price and remain behind in technologies is getting narrower and narrower, and people are more driven by comparisons than generational loyalties or the brand of their first vehicle. The Equinox is hard to beat. Their sales and resale prove it. With the prices of used compared to new, new often comes out less expensive all things considered. I've been looking at the Ford Edge too. FAR more vehicle, MUCH nicer, better built, better mechanical technology, same used price, fabulous deal, original owners took a bath, but it has technology that can't compete, and you need to go with the ST to come close.
The biggest screw up with the Equinox? The took away the Turbo 2.0L and 9-speed option. The engine allowed the car to be a highway cruiser. It was quiet and the engine turned at 1700 rpm on the highway instead of a noisy 2400, and it could merge and pass much better. The 1.5 is fine at slow speeds, but as soon is it trades speed for torque at highway speeds and runs into wind resistance, it cheapens the ride. If you drop back to 2020, then you lose the automatic parking assist. It weighs 1000 lbs. less than the Edge ST and would be able to have very similar performance with 252 hp.
