    Great vids. What secures the bottom of the wall forms to the footings while you pour? Is it simply gravity and the weight of the forms that keeps them in place? I see you have a few kickers bracing the walls but is there anything that actually connects the forms to the tops of the footings on which they sit?

    • @milldabeast519
      @milldabeast519 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      shouldnt need to if footing is perfect and wal is centered on key way of footing. couple kickers to get it on mark

    • @steve822009
      @steve822009 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The keyways and L bars in the footing are basically step 0 of the wall prep. The bottom of the L bars get tied to the footing steel and the other end gets nailed to the edge of the 2Xs that will form the keywAy so that about 18” of bar will stick straight up out of the footing every 16” or so, and runs parallel to the keyway and they both basically run the length of the footing. Step 1 of wall prep is to tie your vertical bars to those L bars and that’s how the wall and footing stay together... lots of steel, lots of ties, and a keyway.... just kidding... They actually hold themselves together with dark magic and a few pints of an innocents’ blood...

      @ronnieayo985 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm looking into building a house out of I.c.f. but will need plywood forms for exposed concrete.
      Renting forms is expensive and they can be stolen off your job site.
      Plywood is cheap and can be reused as forms again.
      If I have the experience using the plywood forms I make and I know I can set rebar then I want to keep my forms for my wall/fence or if I want a garage.
      After you make things out of concrete you realize how stupid it is to only use the wood once.

    Should be trying g to educate while your filming discussing what and why you are doing certain things.
    Thanks

      Hey, thanks for the comment! Educating viewers while filming is definitely something I try to do. It's all about sharing knowledge and making the content more informative. Appreciate your support, dude!

    Couldn't even throw up a scaffold for the poor bastards to stand on. What do you do if somebody falls and gets hurt? Probably try to blame the worker and screw them out of comp. Obviously not an OSHA job.

      Scaffolding and safety net compulsory in NZ.
