Much appreciated dude, this was the first Currents song i heard and was hooked! I have a tripod with an iphone grip, then i film the cover 3 times from the different angles, low and mid angles are easy, the top angle is hard and involves stacking my belongings up on my desk, tilting the tripod and celotaping it to things so it stays tilted over 😂 one day i’ll get a better tripod/camera gadget for this and then maybe i’ll make more covers hahah
Awesome cover dude!! Currents is one of my favorite bands and you nailed it!! I was wondering how does that 80 feel in drop E?? do you think the guitar would handle drop D with that set on it? Also are the pickups stock??
Thanks Robert! 80 feels great for drop E and get away with it for drop D#. Any lower and it needs heavier gauges! Yeah stock pick ups they’re dimarzio fusion 8’s i think!
@@matthrsy did you have to drill out the tuning peg for that 80? Or did it just go through without issue? Im asking cause im looking into getting the same guitar
@@RobMoutrey i did, i had it professionally set up at Andertons and they did it for me. Same for my 7 strings Im yet to come across an ERG with a large tuner!

In my 7 i use hipshot griplok locking tuners and it works for the 64 i got in there but any bigger and itd have to be drilled out as well.. however when ordering through hipshot you can request that they drill the tuning pegs to open up to as wide as a 90
Damn I love this guitar. How highly would you recommend it?? Really considering pulling the trigger on one!
For me it was the right choice, i wanted a fairly high end 8 string that was going to feel high quality, which was 27” straight scale, thin neck so the 8th string would be easy to play. When i got it the fretboard was very light which i hated, but that was only because the board had dried out and needed some lemon oil and after that it was dark again. Would 100% recommend, i think its a top option for 8 strings before you get into custom shop territories! Hope this helps🤘🏻

Thanks! No it doesnt i had a tech drill out to accommodate the bigger string, i’ve had to do this on all my 7/8 strings i wish the tuners came bigger originally

I’ve been so curious about this guitar! What do you think about it?
I was searching for the right 8 string for me for a long time before i decided to get this one. Im a big ESP fan so i was originally going to get the Eii-hrf 8 (i thinks the name) but after some research heard that the neck was too chunky to work for an 8 string. I did a lot of research into this one before i bought it and im glad to chose this. Normally ibanez guitars are too thin for me but the body is a nice thickness and the neck is super comfortable, the thinner neck profile is great as the neck is wider to fit the 8 so it makes it comfortable to reach for the 8th string. I was lucky enough to try 3 of the same guitar from GAK which helped me chose one with a really nice wood grain and a nice dark fretboard. No complaints with the guitar at all, feels high quality and solid, nice medium weight to it 👌🏻 anymore questions let me know!! Hope this helps dude

Insane - can this be played on a 7 string?
Thanks! The original is played on a 7 by Chris Wiseman, i adjusted the higher fretting for it to work on 8 string 🤘🏻
To add to this, Chris Wiseman is technically playing a 7 string baritone (RGD), so it has a slightly longer scale length than a normal Ibanez 7 string
