Never reject the love of a cat ... i did it once due the request of his owner and broke my heart to find him dead in my garden some months later. It's one of the things that still hurt me the most even after 20 years. You dont need to feed him but keep some treats for him and allow him to go inside. The freedom of a living being, the affection of a living being, must be always respected.
I'm so sorry for your loss, I'll always remember and miss the cats I've lost as well.🫂 This one will always have a cat door here, and a safe place to nap and receive pets. I can also contact his family if he needs anything, they take great care of him :)
I had to give my beloved inside/outside cat to my sister hundress of miles away. After relocating him, I learned my neighbors, whom he visited daily, would have loved to take him in. I was heartbroken. Apparently, cats can choose to be served by more than one loving family. ❤❤❤
I hope your sister shares lots of stories about him! Gandalf looked a little guilty when he saw me meeting his owners, I don't think he told them that he was seeing other people on the side, lol.
Unbeknownst to many cats are sensitive animals. They feel the pain of rejection or the appearance of it, for example. Factor in their territorial instincts and the recipe is ripe for them to abandon all that's familiar and comfy. They don't stray far, though. They would still hang around the neighbourhood, sometimes as close by as the next-door neighbour. Oftentimes, it's just a case of cats being adventurous which is second nature to them. They love exploring the outdoors. Btw, Gandalf is a lovely nickname, magical, like the make-believe realm of Tolkien's Middle Earth.
Thank you so much for your advice and wisdom. I've stopped feeding him here, but he still has his catdoor and free reign of our house, beds, and chairs. I hope he won't feel rejected by me since he's still welcome to hangout, nap, and hunt here. He needs to return home though, his family misses him more than I will.
Its best for the cat if only 1 famliey feeds him. Then the 2 of you can track his health better. Ive been thru it. Looks like he picked u for his nabor friend. Very awsome
Honestly it's a huge relief that I won't need to buy cat food or manage his diet. I'm just glad that he visits me each day, and that he's well cared for when he's not here :)
I enjoyed your commentary about Gandalf, you brought a smile to my face, thank you!
such a lovely gorgeous cat...
Damn cute mini tiger. So glad he is so happy in his forever home.

Cats are good at having more than one house
You're his vacation home.

Where is his hat and stick
He left them at home with his robe (and collar), this is Gandalf au Naturel.
