I agree with @ralphmason! I paused, took notes (handwritten) and screen shot some of the slides to review again. Of course these 2 ladies are outstanding advocates for reading and our children. I need to read Reader, Come Home. I have read/listened to Sold a Story and Proust and the Squid. This gave me a better syntax for sure.
It's worth putting aside the time to watch this talk in full. Try to relax and give it your full attention. Feel free to pause at various points and reflect on what's been said. Even scrub backwards to re-hear some bits. We can give full attention to language in non-text formats, listen and reflect deeply. We just have to resolve to do so, and use some self-discipline to stick to one thing at a time.
