I have a little story for you. I am a lifelong Cardinal fan, and I am no spring chicken. The first time I saw him swing a bat years ago I said to myself that is the best and purest swing I have ever seen. It was poetic to me as a baseball fan. In the off season last year, I posted a big rant on TH-cam to the Cardinals orginization as to how I would be absolutely done with the Cardinals and baseball if they didn't bring Albert home to go off into the sunset with dignity and love in the place and with the team and the fans that knew and loved him best. Everyone said he was washed up. Everyone said there was no way it would happen. But it did. I don't think I have ever been happier than to see Albert hit his 700th in a Cardinal uniform. Thank you Albert for all the memories and for having the grit and the guts to come back home for this last run. I will never forget it. God Bless you.

I can't think of anyone else in the MLB who deserves reaching a milestone putting him in elite company with only 3 other hitters in the history of the sport. Growing up a diehard loyal Cardinals fan an hour and a half west of St Louis, for Pujols to come back one last year before retirement where it all started, hitting number 700 in a Cardinals uniform made it even more special. Back with Yadi and Waino for one final run....you couldn't write a better story. Thank you for the memories of not only hitting 700 back in a Cards uniform Albert, but for the two WS titles you helped STL win, the passion for which you play the game with and what you've done for us fans. The energy and smile you bring onto the field and in the clubhouse are both part of your legacy. I'm not an emotional ol boy at all and I hate crying but I'll probably choke up when you and Yadi play your final game together this year, hopefully after a WS titi. Watching Wainwright pitch his last game if he decides to retire after the season or comes back for another year is going to be emotional too. Thanks for the ride #5. Cardinals nation lives you.

As a Reds fan, it's been a joy to watch him. I've followed him since he was a rookie in 2001, when I was 11. I'm 32 now. What a career

Let's hope someone can talk Albert out of retirement. There must be thousands if not millions of baseball fans who would like to see this guy play for another year.

I think if Mike Trout or Ohtani came to STL, Albert would be interested...The cost alone for trading for those players may give Albert Pujols a fulltime DH job or perhaps Ohtani is DH and Pujols plays in hitter friendly parks/Busch Stadium to give Cardinals fans 1 last run..He's 13 homers away from 3rd, and 61 away from #1 all time, he hit 24 last year and had a great start but horrid middle and fantastic 2nd half..He did elevate himself to 4th ever in homers hit, and 2nd ever in rbis, so he's not washed up...He could keep going, but I think the Cardinals must do their part first...Pujols had 3rd best bat in 2022 for STL, but I also remember Albert Pujols promising Mike Trout to show him how to win a world series title, and If Trout came to STL, I think the opportunity would be too good for Pujols to pass up this time...
