Very funny, Philip! It's not true, though so I'm sorry but I must disagree with you. First, we do love to see every job done, whether it's the finishing touches or the down-and-gritty work, as you've done today. But also, no. We are not the reason you are here. The reason we are all here -- you and us, your audience -- is the chateau. Because we all care about it. You care about it enough to work so hard to restore it. We care enough about it being restored that we want to support you in any way we can. Because it matters. Just as ancestors matter and history matters. All things of quality matter and should be kept and taken care of. But I must also say, listening to your attitude makes it fun and funny and even more interesting to watch. But be assured: I'm sure I speak for every viewer when I say, We respect and appreciate every single project you do, even the less-sexy ones like this, because they all go toward making the chateau all it can be. And, actually, I found this quite interesting. (BTW, I had noticed those incomplete edges last week when they were sanding the floor and was surprised when they weren't addressed. Honestly, I LOVED seeing you walk through your home!!! It's lovely to see your projects, but harder to have a spatial map in my head of how all the rooms connect! Like, what was the room behind Philip as he worked on the floor? I love how your daughter was easily convinced by Papa that it was time to learn to use power tools. So fun, as always, and such a tease at the end with spooky music. I'm hooked!
It was the laundry room/temporary kitchen during the kitchen reno and hallway between kitchen and office. I think this was form pass through to the dining room that was used as a closet hence the shelving. They did speak about it during the kitchen reno videos.

Thank you Philip. Finally we get to see the true brains, muscle and talent behind all the renovations. However I do believe children should be at least 7 years old before they start messing around with power tools and it's high time safety equipment was available in their size.

Many years ago I tried to convince my brother to learn plumbing, I told him that he would never be out of work if he did. I said you could even trade a plumbing fix for other things. He decided to be a clocksmith so he spent his days taking antique clocks apart and remaking missing parts and then putting them all back together and finally never getting paid as people didn't go back for the clocks !
I know a man who makes big money by buying watches and clocks from people at low prices and he repairs them, then sells them and makes a lot of money. It is a good business to buy low, fix, sell higher. He specializes in expensive ones that people don't want as they need repair, and the people need the cash. I suggest that to your brother, maybe you can steer him in a better direction to make money that way.

We have an old house with squeaky oak floors and plaster walls. But happy to say your house is older! Our contractor uses a marble threshold piece in the doorway that looks great and creates a nice clean transision with different materials ie. wood and tile.

I agree the husband does all the hard jobs. I have been married for 50 years and my husband is the glue that makes our hold farm work and look so beautiful but seldom gets the credit. Whenever anybody comes to the farm to see how beautiful it is they don't see hubby mowing and cleaning all the trees that have fallen over. All the tractor work to move the heavy bits. All the pipes that needed repair or the electrical that need repair. Great job Philipp.
