    Good job done there. I used to have a CB500 and fitted a voltmeter for the same reason to get an early warning on the stator or ref/rec, saves getting stuck somewhere. Just bought. 2000 Deauville, so plan on doing the same. Good fix you did. Rich.

      It’s always good to know what’s going on so I’d highly recommend fitting a volt meter of some description to every bike

    Thanks for the video. I seem to have same problem and now planning to buy new regulator. Those seem to be quite expensive, almost 200euros. I have already bought new battery and booster and spend same amount of money...

      @@pyrdypelimies5164 defo sounds like it’s faulty. If you can put some heat sink paste on the back of the new one as this is defo a top tip to help with heat dissipation.

      Hi Mel
      It’s an original Honda touring screen for the deauville.
      You can still get them try David silver spares or fowlers spares on Google.
      Make sure you get the one with the two holes at the bottom as a solid screen that big upsets the aerodynamics.

      Glad you found it useful...thus is quite a common fault on 650 deauvilles but it's an easy fix. Just don't ride it until you have done it as this can damage your battery permanently as I found out lol

      @@biker1k thank you for quick reply yes big saving on oem ones for sure. Tbh I bought a cheap rectifier ebay just last week and had to return it for refund. It had same fault as my own . Throwing 17.2 volts out I also have volt metre fitted. I checked diodes on new part with multimeter and 100% at fault yet I bought cheap rectifier 3 years ago and it was good. Luck of the draw i guess. Take it the 1 bolt fitting hasn't worked loose then?. I also seen the genuine rectifier on ebay for £100

    Hi mate, what were the symptoms other than dropping voltage ?.

    • @biker1k
      @biker1k  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi it was only the dropping voltage I noticed. As soon a si sterted it it would stay at 14.4v for about 3 to 5 miles then drop to 12.6v. I had it on an iptimate every night so I don't know if this masked any other symptoms. That's the beauty of having a voltmeter you immediately notice any difference.

      @@baron5747 it's the best place to start mate
      If that doesn't work try the side stand and kill switch on handlebars and neutral switch. These are small contacts that can interfere with starting. Then check your stator using a multimeter. After that it's getting tricky then fault finding. My guess is it could be your regulator and for the cost it's not worth not changing it
