    I wouldn't use a metal bar with the risk of damaging the sprockets.
    I used plastic tools that you use for removing car interior,they are fairly strong it might take a little longer but it's better to be safe than sorry.

      In general, the replacement will be similar, the only thing may differ slightly in the design features of your car.

    And how exacly are you keeing the timing? As soon as it becomes loose, and the slightest turn you're out of time..

    • @davidszabototh
      @davidszabototh 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not a timing belt, just a serpentine belt powering the power steering pump, the A/C compressor and the alternator.

      I thought it was odd too. These belts are stretch belts. Designed to stretch over like this. Never heard of them before, myself.

    To be honest if you're replacing the belts you might just as well cut the old belts off!

    it is not that easy... the belts require a lot of pressure... there is an alternative to relieve the pressure at the alternator

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you are right, there is a tension mechanism in the designs, or it is tensioned using a generator bracket, by the generator itself.

    This is definitely not the way to replace this belt ! just use a wrench "15 on the tensioner pulley and you can release the tension from the belt with one hand and remove/install belt with your other hand.
