  • The world (and our social media accounts) are flooded with a false sense of bravado, machismo, and the “alpha” mentality from men who, when you peel back the layers, are dealing with some very difficult and challenging experiences and struggles.
    Unfortunately, many of them have never learned to deal with these experiences head on and end up doing a lot of mental and emotional damage to themselves and others along the way.
    My guest today, is Jason Wilson, the author of Battle Cry: Waging and Winning the War Within. Today, Jason and I discuss why men have a hard time addressing and dealing with these wounds, the difference between being worried and being concerned, his own experiences with unhealed trauma, what it means to be a comprehensive man, a four-part framework for mastering your emotions, and how you can and should embrace in your inner lion and lamb.
    SHOW HIGHLIGHTS
    The world needs the lion and the lamb
    No such thing as negative emotions
    Mastering your emotions
    It’s ok for men to release through tears
    Worrying is different than concern
    The importance of staying in the moment
    The difference between being assertive and being aggressive
    Admiring the strength of women
    Ruling your own emotions allows you to communicate better

    The depth of this conversation got me sinking deep in reflection of myself. I've been angry for so long. I cried about it to a friend that my manhood was stolen from me. Even I didn't understand what I said not until I listened to this convention. I'm not complete, I use to be loving compassionate and as well assertive but my divorce changed everything. I've been too passive aggressive. Now I understand I need more Reflectiom, Release, Reset and Rest. May God help us all. Amen 🙏 🙏 🙏

      Takes strength to look at and admit your shortcomings and to make efforts to try to improve your mind and spirit. Maintaining a smile and following The Golden Rule goes a long way to a high quality existence. Heard of the Tao? The Tao Te Ching is a small book that rocked my world like no other. Was written about 2600 years ago. That and Aurelius’s Meditations. Aloha. Refreshing to read your comment.

    "... And you're STUCK in being the lion and you can never reset..."
    Finally someone who's sincere. Because if you've got to be the so called "alpha" (if you are moved by the need to prove it), then you are stuck. There is nothing to envy in that.

    Wow! This was an amazing conversation. I've been delving into the monosphere/red pill community and this right here really made me feel more whole.
    Question: When is it ok, other than death, to cry in front of my lady? How frequently? I don't mind vulnerability, but I don't feel comfortable doing it too much.

    I love this. Men like this are true Alphas and it’s so attractive!
    I wish something similar was taught to women. We’re forced to accept passivity as law. That’s where overly manipulative, sneaky, mean girl type of behavior comes from. We don’t feel we can be direct and femininely assertive in a lot of cases. It varies, but overall we have to stuff things down that aren’t considered traditionally feminine.

    Really great podcast, it took me awhile to realize channeling my emotions is extremely important. Being someone who is ambitious and wanting more in life I usually found anything emotionally triggering including my partners emotions to be an inconvenience. I’m lucky to have realized at 27 that this was not the way to go to have a beautiful and flourishing relationship. It hasn’t been an easy journey better handling my emotions and being more sympathetic. Working on being the best man and partner I can be💪

    Great message. My only bone to pick is Jason's statement that women don't allow culture to define them. Look around you. Feminism has been redefining how women think for several generations. It's pretty sad, actually.

    • @queencup1181
      @queencup1181 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not just “feminism,” but the same harmful masculinity that is taught to men. Only we internalize it and express it differently. Feminism is a response to that, saying no to harmful masculinity/patriarchy and embracing healing. However, so many folks have watered it down, it doesn’t hold the same authenticity anymore.

    • @shrimpscampin
      @shrimpscampin ปีที่แล้ว

      not to be rude but I'm pretty sure Jason's content is not the place to be whining about feminism, might be better off checking out fresh n fit or Andrew tate if you feel that way

    14:32 this is the exact reason why I lost alot of friends and even jobs. It seems like the world feels as if a Bm standing up for himself is prohibited. Oh well 🤷🏿‍♂️. They call you petty or uptight when you address the disrespectful/snide remarks. Oh well again 🤷🏿‍♂️

    This is a great conversation and very introspective. It has me asking myself alot of questions about who I am and how I react. I agree with the statement of always being in attack mode. There always a time in a place. The balance between being patient and understanding and strong and aggressive. Looks like I got some work to do. Thank you for the video and guys keep that chin up. You here for a reason.

    I love the great wisdom you’ve shared with the men. I’m a guy who has the same heart as you, to lead men into their proper place in the home and in the world! Military guys FBI guys businessmen and all facets of life and we all need the same things! We NEED brothers to rally around us and allow us to be “true men”… I’m a Follower of Jesus and His word … the wisdom you all have shared can all be found right there in the pages of scriptures. if we’d only give these instructions for life and living like we do our careers we’d be all we need to be as real men.
