I cant help but be reminded of our camping tent when I was growing up in the 60's , Dad made the whole thing , a wall tent you could stand up in like yours , made from heavy clear plastic , folding ridge poles, heavy green duct tape to join the pieces and for reinforcement of the corners, ridgeline, etc .. it lasted my entire childhood , and it's most wonderful feature is that you could see outside, especially wonderfully lit when the moon was out 🙂

You should try cooking "Hobo wraps" (just a protein with vegetables wrapped up in aluminum foil) (I use hamburger patties) Best part is you can cook them on top of or inside the wood stove. (or an open campfire)
I also make these and call them hobo wraps, I use meatballs, potatoes, carrots, onions, and cheese but you can do so much with these aluminum foil over a campfire

Try adding a second layer of plastic wrap with a 12 inch gap between the inner and outer making sure to minimize or eliminate the flow of air between the two layers. See how much difference the second layer with the dead air space between them makes in the temperature inside.
I made a 6x6 fishing house the same way. I live in Maine and go ice fishing in the winter. The ice house gets very warm on a sunny day, we turn off our heater and the sun keeps us warm. You did a great job with your camp .

I love watching these kind of experimental videos, looks like a lot of effort went into filming end editing as well. I learned new things. The love between you and Amber put a smile on my face. Thank you so much for all of that. One suggestion would be to use a thermometer to measure the temperature inside and outside to add on the experiment findings. Lastly, using one of those small carbon monoxide detectors would have also given you a piece of mind while sleeping as well.
I have a husky/shepherd named Rocco. And a pit bull named Cooper and 2 beagles, Dobby and Triss. Our newest addition is a long hair German Shepherd named Lucille. She's just a few months old. I also have a cat named Oogie-Boogie. Never a dull moment.

Camping favourite I still make at home...slice a slit in an un-pealed banana lengthways...stuff peices of chocolate in the slit...wrap everything in tin foil and cook it like a baked potato, it cooks in it's own skin...the chocolate melts and the sugars in the banana caramelise...amazing
What a beautiful sunrise to wake up to! I've seen advertisements for clear igloo-style shelters and this seems an easy and economical option. As you mentioned, not really bushcraft, may work well for survival in a pinch. But it really seems like a fun shelter for kids (of all ages!) to get out and enjoy the outdoors, watch the stars and meteor showers especially in the summer. I am curious how well it would keep out mosquitoes.

Showing the features and how they work. I got this idea when looking at the fire piston and looked for a video showing how it worked. Keep up the awesome!
I am interested in how this material holds up in the woods. When I see it used in lumber yards to wrap pallet wood, it does have some resistance to abrasion. I wonder about condensation inside as a problem. The door opening and the stovepipe exit held up much better than I expected.

Labs are just plain exuberant! Everything is their favorite thing or activity. Our Alaskan husky loves carrots as well. After playing with it and tossing it about she eats it.
One of my favorite is Thai coconut curry when camping. It can take a variety of different veggies and proteins. Thicken it for a plated meal or add more liquid and it becomes a soup. Remember to bring a lime. Love watching your adventures.

I have 250 acres in southwest missouri in the Ozarks and 2 dogs 1 black lab mix not a mean bone in her body,and a golden retrever mix that is the same way ! 1 cat that stays outside for rodent control. and thats all folks! its a 1/4 mile to my mailbox and house cant be seen from the road!
The pallet wrap is a great idea for shelter. You can even build one higher up in the trees. A couple of cans of camo color spray paint can make you more invisible. If you have to pick up and leave its fairly easy and inexpensive. Bushcraft is better, but one hates to walk away from his good work. The plastic you can discard of and carry your roll to the next spot .
My dog is half Shitsu half Cairn Terrier. He loves the woods dearly. We walk on trails and he explores everywhere, and everything! I like your video! I spent a lot of time in the Apache Reservation, in the White Mountains in Az. as a child. I loved the quiet beauty of nature and the pine trees that surrounded the area!

I have a Shepherd/Husky mix and his name is Tanner and he is the biggest thief i've ever seen . He brings us all sorts of things from the neighborhood but gets away with it because everybody says he's a "sweetheart". He's spoiled miserably and I love him dearly . He is a year and a half old and we got him at six weeks .
Great video Dustin. Would be interesting how a shelter like that would fair in heavy rain or wind. Was hesitant on what i thought about it due to the P word. But as you said it's more of a survival shelter and it is cool to exoeriment with different options. Nice to have some variance.

Amber stole the show, mate. Great experiment on the cling wrap cabin, instant tent whose roll takes up little backpack space. Instant cabin, great idea.
What I really like about this idea is you get the protection of a tent with tactical visibility. Sleeping in this with a pair of night-vision goggles makes for a safer rest. In the event you had to shoot through the wrapping to hit a hostile target or abandon it fast to bug out, it would be no big deal as it's all going in the trash later, anyway. I'm not entirely paranoid, but after a few encounters with people less about enjoying nature than me, and more about being creeps, this gives me a little more assurance that I can see something coming before it gets there. Hello Dustin. For your next bushcraft meal you should do a mixed grill meal. I have 2 dogs megan a 6 year old American alsation and bobbi an 18 month old carpathian shepard.

Wish I could do this sort of thing. We have a fair few critters that would make it a little dangerous (coyotes, lynx, etc) but would be very fun regardless. Great idea!
I NEVER watch videos like this but I ended up watching the entire video. I’m in love with Amber, how you treat her, your demeanor and the tone and inflection of your voice. I have to ask, aren’t you scared or nervous out there all alone? Being a 135 lbs woman it’s a little different I think. I would be terrified of a creature or a man coming across me in the middle of the night. I’d be insane with never sad soon as it turned black out. That being said have you ever had a experience where you felt uneasy or that someone was watching you? Like you weren’t alone? How far in the woods are you? A traditional Irish coddle is a camp cooking winner! ( Just brown the sausages first as the traditional dish uses boiled sausage but as I'm not a fan of the pink colour and slightly odd consistency, I tend to brown them off first ) Love your videos, and keep up the great work! 😊💙
I have a Sheltie and I also have a Yorkie/Poo. The Sheltie is a male and the Yorkie/Poo is fm. She is like his little lamb that he chases around. lol. This is a very interesting video. Can't wait to see how well this plastic wrap keeps the heat in!
Perfect idea to build an emergency shelter from a stretch film to protect against the weather. Should be enough for one night. Of course, as a hunter, I always have my dogs by my side. I have an Austrian Black and Tan Hound and a Bavarian Mountain Hound. Greetings Andreas

Thanks James. There was very little, if any, condensation on the inside. I think sleeping with the door open helped!

I have a Shepherd/Husky mix and his name is Tanner and he is the biggest thief i've ever seen . He brings us all sorts of things from the neighborhood but gets away with it because everybody says he's a "sweetheart". He's spoiled miserably and I love him dearly . He is a year and a half old and we got him at six weeks .

Was hesitant on what i thought about it due to the P word. But as you said it's more of a survival shelter and it is cool to exoeriment with different options. Nice to have some variance.

Amber stole the show, mate. Great experiment on the cling wrap cabin, instant tent whose roll takes up little backpack space. Instant cabin, great idea.
What I really like about this idea is you get the protection of a tent with tactical visibility. Sleeping in this with a pair of night-vision goggles makes for a safer rest. In the event you had to shoot through the wrapping to hit a hostile target or abandon it fast to bug out, it would be no big deal as it's all going in the trash later, anyway. I'm not entirely paranoid, but after a few encounters with people less about enjoying nature than me, and more about being creeps, this gives me a little more assurance that I can see something coming before it gets there. Great idea. Subbed.
Hello Dustin. For your next bushcraft meal you should do a mixed grill meal. I have 2 dogs megan a 6 year old American alsation and bobbi an 18 month old carpathian shepard.

Wish I could do this sort of thing. We have a fair few critters that would make it a little dangerous (coyotes, lynx, etc) but would be very fun regardless. Great idea!

I have to ask, aren’t you scared or nervous out there all alone? Being a 135 lbs woman it’s a little different I think. I would be terrified of a creature or a man coming across me in the middle of the night. I’d be insane with never sad soon as it turned black out. That being said have you ever had a experience where you felt uneasy or that someone was watching you? Like you weren’t alone? How far in the woods are you? Sorry for all the questions but I’ve never watched a video like this before. Give Amber a Kiss! She is beautiful 😍

A traditional Irish coddle is a camp cooking winner! ( Just brown the sausages first as the traditional dish uses boiled sausage but as I'm not a fan of the pink colour and slightly odd consistency, I tend to brown them off first ) Love your videos, and keep up the great work! 😊💙

I have a Sheltie and I also have a Yorkie/Poo. The Sheltie is a male and the Yorkie/Poo is fm. She is like his little lamb that he chases around. lol. This is a very interesting video. Can't wait to see how well this plastic wrap keeps the heat in!
Perfect idea to build an emergency shelter from a stretch film to protect against the weather. Should be enough for one night. Of course, as a hunter, I always have my dogs by my side. I have an Austrian Black and Tan Hound and a Bavarian Mountain Hound.

we have a half pitbull wolf husky hybrid. mama was pit daddy was husky wolf. we don't know how much wolf but she is the sweetest, smartest dog I've ever owned. she loves raw carrots and would have loved that one you gave your dog lol! thank you for these videos. love them!
