I don’t drink either but I still have a lot of fun. I’d have driven the chassis around as well and the police would be the least of my worries, it’s the bride waiting for me when I get home that would scare me😂. Well done on getting the electrics sorted and getting it running, that’s a huge step forward. If you’re looking to pay homage to the lumber company I would suggest doing it in the original livery, green and redo the sign writing. Definitely a flat bed. Cheers mate, Stuart 🇦🇺

I’d set up a car hauler. Can still make side racks that slide in pockets.. A maverick should fit in between side racks! I’d find one of those cool crank up old campers. Or an insulated milk type truck box. That you could pull up on,orlower on.hook up a few lines. Then you have a camp rig. Put a small boat on back. Or a 4 wheeler.Ultimate camp rig. Get home, pull it off, then you have a hauler to pick up future projects or take something to car shows. Could even find or make a dump bed to haul a little manure, gravel on the back end. The possibilities are endless. We had a flatbed trailer ,had the ramps built on,you’d load the dozer then the ramps hinged up and on the end. Always liked it better than removable ramps. Bonus they never came off when loading by accident. No matter how wet or muddy. I’m sure whatever you do will be cool. A good platform . Then different things to make it what you need at the time would be my vote! Either way you do good quality work! Anything will be cool! Except a pool on back!

I have a 48 COE that I am putting onto a 1989 1ton Chevy 4x4 with a 7.4L. The test fit has the cab sitting extremely high. I am very interested on how you solve the fitment issue. FYI the subframe with the pedals and parking brake can still be used or connected to the new stuff . So don't through out or destroy it. Just drill out the rivets off the old frame. My goal is to be up and running by March to drive it from Roseburg Oregon to the off road wreck games in Utah that Matt's off road puts on.

if you want to shorten the wheelbase you could move the whole axle and spring hanger setup and move it forward
you might leave it a little longer than a normal pickup longbed , make it intoo a flatbed / stakebed and have a thirth wheel hitch sunk in the floor , if you pull off the sides you can use the truck to pull sumting like that big gooseneck you used to drive the rv home , could leave the frame longer and drop the rear get some airbags in the rear to be able to drop the tail on the ground and make it intoo a car hauler , might be more usefull that way , not sure if the frame is strong enough for that though

I have the same chassis on my rv. Great motor! I strongly suggest flushing the 4 row radiator that's difficult to replace, filter and fluid on the trans, fuel pump while it's easily accessible, and most importantly the brake pads and calipers as the rears can (will) lock up and snap the rotors, and you don't want to pull the axles to replace them like I had to!😅
