@@Rafael-zl4vu is a bit of a late response but most do not have bad feelings of the tourists, as long as the tourists can respect our cultures and our nature then it's all good. What I do find a bit funny though is the amount of tourists that do not know how at the center of the capital, Steinatún, if you want to cross the road, you will have to press a button to signal that you need to get across, somehow western people do not know what this is and will stand there for minutes until someone taps it. This is so common too and happens all the time in summer when we have the most tourists. Also about xenophobia, do not think this will be a common occurrence, sure there might be a few racist people here and there like any other country but the vast majority of the people is very welcome to foreigners coming here. Where I work for example I would say about half the workplace is foreigners and a majority of them are from either Africa or Asia and from what I've seen they get treated the same as locals. So at the end of the day I think the biggest roadblock you would have, is finding a workplace willing to hire you so you can get a work Visa that can eventually get you and your partner in.

If you would check the time of the video was made you would see it wasn't near the time of the current happenings.. I agree, the whole dolphin situation is terrible and I don't agree with what they are doing either, but don't blindly point fingers why these things are missing in this video. It's clearly not the purpose of the video.
Why such an intense and anxiety-inducing music in the first half of the video though? This place looks like a paradise, don't see any reason to fan the fire and try to blow minor issues out of proportions. Awesome documentary otherwise.
I would give ANYTHING to raise my children in a place like this. Seriously, I'm not just talking. If someone would give us a start there we would go. About the whaling: according to a Doctor who lives on the island and has been studying the mercury levels of the people who eat the whales for 3 generations. He has been finding significant changes and problems. You can Google the info if you want. I believe the killings of the whales isn't any worse than the way we treat animals in America. Cramming them into slaughter houses. Some animals who never even see a grassy field. But because of the mercury, my kids wouldn't be fed the whales.
Very valid point about mercury. Slaughterhouses are probably worse than what they do. It's just public and seeing blood creates drama. I don't agree with either side - killing animals isn't the solution - but if people would see what's going on in there I am sure they'd think twice if they wanna buy that fancy packed meat in the store..
@@gregorykoefer Absolutely. Definitely not an easy black and white issue. I'm glad I'm seeing more people willing to take time to put some thought into this instead of jumping to anger and hate. I watched another video about the whale slaughter and there was so much hate on both sides it was painful to read. That won't help anyone.
I would love to live there BUT it is not my place to do so. The people of the Faroe Islands should be VERY careful not to let immigration destroy thier precious culture and sustainable way of life.
Should every video about your country, be it about nature, or a tech product or service in your country, or kids playing in the park of your city, then all include how you have a tradition in your country to enslave innocent highly intelligent pigs and kill them all for money?! I mean, that is what you do in your country, and if you think what the islanders do is so disgusting, by all measures, the killing in your country of those innocent pigs is a million times more disgusting. According to your logic EVERY single video about your country, cultrue, parks, kids playing, sports..they should all include the message about how you mistreat animals in your country. Great logic

@@crysisman09 thanks for the answer. About the button to cross the road, some places in Brazil we have this kind of thing, hahaha. But most of the places you wait for red light or someone to stop.
@@Rafael-zl4vu you're welcome and yeah that is like the only buttons we have here and we also do not have alot of traffic lights and such here, it's only in the areas that the most traffic really, rest of the places it's up to people in cars to stop for people that wants to cross.
they call a heatwave 14 Celsius and thats the hottest day of the year
You live in the freaking North Atlantic Ocean you are then bound to eat food from the ocean
You seem like the most Civilised Folk in Europe. For some to bring up the Animal Eating issue is a bit sad in my opinion. I am Vegetarian but the way you folk live and treat your world does not deserve criticism for that aspect of your lives. Anyone whom is that Pious must or should live in a hut and take time to scrutinise the effect they have on the world to seriously see just how Perfect they really are. I live near Bournemouth South West England in a village surrounded by fields and trees where everyone has large gardens . It’s 22:00 and the first day of July and has been 25 c but the past two hours in my front garden has been without one single sound of folk celebrating being alive in the summer in the gardens which they throw so much money at . The cars at rush hour are manic and that’s it. Fisherman is damn right - Controlled is what us English are 🙄❤️from new forest witches & plumbers

AND THE BLOOD? THE DOLPHIN BLOOD? THE PILOT WHALE BLOOD? IS THAT IN YOUR VIDEO?
If you would check the time of the video was made you would see it wasn't near the time of the current happenings.. I agree, the whole dolphin situation is terrible and I don't agree with what they are doing either, but don't blindly point fingers why these things are missing in this video. It's clearly not the purpose of the video.
Ma'm, if you want to see blood i suggest looking up slaughter house videos from your own country.
Why don't you show a few pictures of your grind??
Why such an intense and anxiety-inducing music in the first half of the video though? This place looks like a paradise, don't see any reason to fan the fire and try to blow minor issues out of proportions. Awesome documentary otherwise.
Because I felt doing it in that way
would have loved to watch on... but after Minute 8 I had to stop because of that constant music in the background 😬
It's called atmoshperic music =)
Looking for a guy in Faroe for me I'm gay from Philippines
One Man one Woman Married = a Family.
he says "to end my life" which I thought suicide, he should say "to get killed"
I would love to live there BUT it is not my place to do so. The people of the Faroe Islands should be VERY careful not to let immigration destroy thier precious culture and sustainable way of life.
Not immigration, tourism.
Another story -dolphin killings. Disgusting.
Great logic
Two mothers? That's not biologically possible.
Faroe Islands are the hell on earth, the beauty of island hide all the evil exercise done by people mercilessly, the video is biased towards Faroese.
What have they done that is so bad?
