Grace and peace in Christ's name to you Pastor. From New Zealand, where tradition is scorned, self is deified, and most run from the Creator. Pray for us.
Running outdoors by the water and through the woods and hills where I used to live in the northeast was my best therapy. Winter was my favorite season to run, I loved the cold and there was something very therapeutic about running through snow and ice and naked trees and feeling the icy sting in your lungs melt away as you create your own warmth. Idk sounds stupid. But I felt strong. Ever since moving to LA after college running hasn't been the same. I do it to stay healthy but running here doesn't make me happy. I feel sad a lot. I miss the cold. I hope I can move home one day soon.
Stupid? Are you kidding me? Running half-marathon distance once a week at -10°C kept me going when I was in a rough patch couple of years ago. Nothing compares to the physical satisfaction of your own body in movement on a cold winter day.
Will your joints feel stiff & rough running in the cold? I live in Malaysia, where the weather is humid & hot all year round, so no idea at all how it feels to run on snowy conditions, although it sounds great
This is so beautiful, I had always imagined the Faroe Islands as smooth rolling hills for some reason. Wonderful homage to the landscape, the people, and especially to running. I really need to start again and not let winter stop me.
its amazing here you would love it. im from faroe islands and its super nice. nothing to fear such as criminal activity because as far as i know its like 7-12 inmates here. no poisonous or venomous animals and no predator like things such as wolves are around here. and also theres not always winter but the weather is unpredictable lol. but yeah if youre planning to travel here then do so
Running -- not jogging, running like your life depends on it -- works like meditation. It clears your head as if you meditate. On top of that also deprives the brain of oxygen. And as the brain's power consumption drops, it releases serotonin. And then you're happy.
"Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." 1Cor 9,24-27 Keep up the good work!
Selfishly wishing people would stop reporting anything to do with the Faroe Islands. Shhhhhhhh! It’s like that band you love that nobody knows about, you want them to get the recognition but you kind of love that their music is loved by only a few. Feels more intimate, more special.
tbh somewhat same, I love the mystery of it since people are always curious when I tell them I'm from faroe islands, but recognition is also good for tourism and then getting a more stable supply of money. Not all faroese people share my views of course but I quite want to be independent.
Also owned by Denmark, despite what the Faroese say. Incredible place. Better than Iceland in some respects (fewer tourists, every town can be reached by car in a day, more diverse food selections).
Denmark owns the Faroe Islands the same way Britain owns Canada or Australia nowadays. We are under the Queen Margrethe II just as the Commonwealth is headed by Elizabeth II.
At first I didn't want to like this because I have a cynical feeling towards someone who makes a career out of having imaginary friends. But it's just a really impressive video.
@@TheNr08 Well as far as i know that the climate there is pretty cold and cloudy most of the time, sunshine is a rare thing. Most of the youngsters spend their time at their computers. I mean i just had to look at the guy at this video to say that he looks extremely unhealthy, he has poor eyesight, hes losing hair and he looks pretty malnourished. I guess they mostly consume fermented foods and vegetables are rare.
@@jona4824 A guy from my town visited Faroe Islands not that long ago and did a interview for the local newspaper. Wasnt that much good to read there either. Only good thing there is the scenery and thats about it. I mean still it depends from your taste. And maybe you are from this place and get offended by this cause you dont know what life is outside... Sorry, thats only my opinion about what i saw and read before about this place...

This video captured the landscape beautifully and presented the pastor reverently.

Alexandra and then there’s me who thrives in 75 degree running haha

I understand wanting to feel the weather thrashing. I love being out in those storms, make you feel alive!
A brutally-beautiful well-told story!
What a gorgeous living room
This cinematography is so incredible that for the first time in my life i read the credits
I guess that makes the video credible
Thank you
He has gotta have really reliable footwear up on those slopes. He seems like a strong and gentle person. Hope this simple way of life continues.
Hmm.. you mean like maybe Merrell footwear?
me, @my 1 dollar shoes: yes really reliable foot wear

How did you guys even come across this idea for a story. So happy you did, but how???
Its a long story... longer than we have time for here. But if you are ever passing thru Salt Lake City, buy us a drink and we’ll share some stories 😉
This is probably the best video to present a persons story on running I have ever seen. Well done 👍
if Forrest Gump was a Wes Anderson movie
Nailed it! 😂😂
If accents were an indication of intelligence.
What a wonderful film. Thank you so much. Perfectly done. A tribute to this man.
Stunning landscape. How lucky would one be to be able to wake up to a view like that every day!
Loved every second of this short video. Amazing story telling , message , landscape , cinematography , music , atmosphere.
One of the best vids I have seen on YT.
Excellent! Wild nature, I like the pastor's attitude.
I think this has become my favourite TH-cam film.
The editor of this movie deserves a raise.
exactly
Thanks for putting metal in that dude
My god this was so well done. Not surprised to see in the end it was Camp 4 Collective that did it too.
No song credits? What band are we hearing at the end?
i think its this

Really enjoyed watching this

Great little documentary. Impressive drone photography. I would like to meet this man. Best regards, Torben (Danmark)
You are welcome
As always beautiful
This is so beautiful
Such beautiful filming. Super video.
A Pastor singing Black Metal running in the mountains. Does it get any darker...
It's more accurate to say that the black metal band adopted the psalm that the pastor is singing :)
its not him that is singing the metal version he is singing the normal version
Don't mess with Preacher and his heavy metal. 🤘
5:47 That snowy mountain slope, one slip and he's gone forever. My hands sweat for him!
If anyone is curious about the band - it's Hamferð and the song is the first one on their 2013 album "Vilst er síðsta fet".
No, it’s their 2010 album, NOT 2013
beautiful nature, very nice vid
I would like to see more in a movie
Captivating.
Stunning!
Beautiful thank you 🙏🏼
This is coolest shoe ad i've ever seen, gg merrell.
Very beautiful
what's the violin piece after bach's fugue?
good documentation …….
Omg the faroe island is like a dream 😍
I’d be afraid to fall of running there lol. Can’t relate to wanting to run in rough weather either haha
Keep up the good work
Wait? You managed to film the ONE DAY with lasting snow? :p
I'm a pastor who runs in Ireland. I now feel like a wimp!

I bet Trump is loving his time as President cause he is like a child let loose in a toy store. Let's fucking buy Greenland!

How I feel when Postmates is down and I have to actually get up and go out to get food. It's tough man, I get it.
Vampire hunter
Running in the mountains is not crazy it was probably the first kind of running.
no, it was not, human running was first in open fields in africa chasing pray and running from predators

Depressing place. Really need some strong nerves to live there.
I didn't see anything depressing here. Maybe you mean stark or spartan.
Also to an outsider it might be hard to imagine how it is growing up there.

Wow. A white person with Eng subtitles.
Have you not listened to the Irish or welsh? There's plenty of white people who need subtitles.
what does him being white have to do with anything?
white doesn't mean English native, there are plenty of other countries other than the English speaking ones
