CATHEDRAL GORGE STATE PARK CAVES

- Cathedral Gorge State Park is located in Eastern Nevada, about a 2.5-hour drive from Las Vegas. This is a very unique one of a kind park that has cool rock formations and even cooler caves. In this video, I explore the 3 major cave areas of the park. They are all in pretty close proximity to each other, and you get to see how amazing they all are!

thank you very much for taking the time to make a great video about this state park I just heard about it in a book that I was reading called Out from Las Vegas. it's suggested this park and I'm going to head over there as soon as it gets a little bit warmer hopefully at the end of March 2020.

Yeah I was very impressed with this state park and also the surrounding state parks in the area. If you truly want to get away from people and have some tranquility you come out to Eastern Nevada lol. Definitely worth a side trip from Vegas if you ever do come out. Yeah I'm pretty centrally located to a lot of cool hiking areas living in Las Vegas. I love taking road trips whenever I can to the next big adventure in the Southwest. Even people who live in Las Vegas don't even know about this place honestly. That's kinda a good thing because it wasn't crowded there at all. Thanks for checking this out Jennifer!
Definitely spectacular! I had never heard of this park - looks incredibly cool. I do get a little creeped out when the cave / canyon gets really narrow... music was perfect!

Yeah I'm getting a lot of good feedback from this video because a lot of people have never heard of his place. I'm so glad you enjoyed this and in came out good on the big screen lol. Good shots. What gimbal did you use? Stabilization is never available in the modes that I like to shoot in.
Thank you very much! I am really glad you liked how this video turned out! I shot this almost 2 years ago. Back then I shot this on a GoPro Hero 7 Black attached to a Karma Grip Gimbal Stabilizer. I have a 9 by its self now and I do miss how smooth the footage looked with a Gimbal. I traded in smoother shots for highe quality resolution . Thanks for watching.
@@adventuringoutdoorswitheric I love shooting 4K 4:3 but my osmo action doesn't have stability for 4k 4:3, only has rocksteady in 2K 4:3 & 4k 16:9. I hate shooting in 16:9, makes me feel cheated. Now I'm looking for a gimbal that supports my fancy phone, osmo action and soon a Sony rx 100 m7 or 8 if they ever release the 8

Yes, there is plenty of signage around the park. Not inside the caves themselves though. When it gets too narrow, you know when to turn around!
I think the caves took me somewhere between an hour and an hour and a half to explore all of them. Sorry, this was a while back.

That place is so cool. Those formations were fascinating to look at, almost like there were melting. Did it get colder in the caves? Great adventure Eric.
Yeah it's a pretty unique place to say the least. But I totally enjoyed my visit. It's a little bit hard to film in the caves but I did the best I could. At least sunlight was beaming in from the tops so that helped. The caves actually stayed the same temperature as the outside so I wasn't freezing or anything. Really glad you enjoyed this Lance and thank you so much my friend.
