THE HAT SHOP HIKE BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK
มุมมอง 140วันที่ผ่านมา
The 2nd hike I did at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah was to The Hat Shop, a cluster of balanced-rock hoodoos! These narrow, orange pinnacles wear "hats" of large gray boulders, giving them a distinct appearance. This hike is labeled as moderate at 4.2 miles round-trip and 1020 feet of elevation gain. This is a much less popular hike where you won't see many people on the trail. The hike is ...

The Peekaboo Loop Trail was the first hike I did on this trip! This hike is labeled as moderate at 5.2 miles round-trip and 1,528 ft of elevation gain! This absolutely stunning trail takes you to the bottom of Bryce Canyon and shows you s...

It's so nice that you have scenery like this so close to your place. Glad you take the time to go out and enjoy it all! That's amazing! So happy to hear that the channel is growing enough that people know who you are! It's nice to hear that so many people are out hiking and exploring, but it does come with the added challenges that you mentioned - especially parking spaces for all those who want to explore! The American southwest is definitely a place like no other. There are so many amazing places jammed packed into such a small space (relatively).
The rocks there contrast beautifully with the green landscape in the background. The hat shop is such a great and creative name. Hats off to whoever thought of it!
Nice 8 mile hike and at temperature, perfect hiking weather. I always leave Mrs Metalman a detailed list of where I am going, parking, trail I am taking etc, in case anything goes wrong and I took a hard fall on icy rocks last week and wonder what you do on your hikes in case of accident? I was also wondering what a hoodoo was but you just showed me and always real cool you you are recognised. Amazing scenery from the viewpoint and it looked like you were the only person there. Just as I say that, you stat bumping into more people lol and I found that over in the UK, so many more people hiking now post Covid. Really impressive hike, cheers Alan
Again a big thank you for the beautiful pictures. Seeing it and knowing thatI I was there four months ago seems unreal Bryce was busy when I was there, but there was always a parking space. Greetings from grey Germany. I hope you all realize what great nature you have there
I'm glad you didn't have parking issues like I did when you went. The key is just to get there early. Yeah, I am very thankful for all the nature around me. I am pretty sure Germany has tons of beautiful places to hike as well! Thanks for watching another video of mine, my friend!
Once again this is a well made video. Looks like a great hike! Wonderful nature and landscape. I really enjoyed watching. Many greetings 😀
Thank you so much, my friend, for watching another video of mine! I am really glad you enjoyed it, and I really appreciate your continued support of my channel!
Amazing 👍👍
Thank you so much!
I'm always amazed by the golden color of the rock/soil that is there, cool you got so close to though hoodoos and that view of the tower bridge and all the other rock formation are so fascinating to see, I can see why the place would be so crowded
Yeah, Bryce Canyon is a super unique place to hike, unlike anywhere else! The colors are pretty awesome also! It is totally understandable why this national park gets so many visitors! Thanks, Craig!!
I'm from Montlhery, France. I hiked at least ten times this trail clockwise and anticlockwise. Everytime I go to USA for roadtrip, I always finish by Kingman AZ. Monolith garden is one of the most beautiful trail I have ever seen. I was surprise to see that even hiking on saturday or sunday, i never saw anybody hiking this trail .
You live all the way in France, and you've hiked this 10 times! I live an hour and a half away, and I've only done it once, lol. I'm definitely due to return. It's really cool that this hike is not ever crowded! The landscape and the pinnacles are really amazing, so it is shocking that more people are not doing this trail! Thank you so much for watching and commenting, my friend!
The videos on your channel are very beautiful, but would you believe that despite your beautiful videos, the number of subscribers and views is very low?
Well, I am glad that you think my videos are beautiful. Yes, I do wish I had more subscribers and views, but I am thankful for the ones I do have! Much appreciated, my friend!
This place is still on my bucket list! It's an incredible looking trail. Glad to see you had multiple layers with you - that changing weather can be problematic if you aren't prepared!
Yeah, this is definitely a must-do National Park! It's got much different weather than Vegas, so I was prepared. Thanks Josh!
Wow, that's a pretty long hike to start the day. Lots of trees in that area. There are some great views that peak out from behind those trees from time to time. Got to love the Grand Canyon! The views really open up at the end - stunning!
The good thing about the North Rim is that it has a lot of trees! It was a longer hike for sure, but not extremely hard. The view at the end was definitely the best! Thanks, Josh!
I loved the solitude that this trail gave. There was beauty all around and few, if any, people. Nice job, Eric! Take care always 😊
Yeah, this was a great hike with lots of tranquillity for the normal Bryce Canyon crowds! It's truly a gem 💎. Thanks, James.
Thank you again for the Video with great pictures. To Show another part of Bryce 😊
Yeah, there is a lot to Bryce Canyon, and I'm glad I was able to show you a lesser known part. Thanks for watching another video of mine!
I didn't even know about this trail. Beautiful video.
Yeah, it's considered a backcountry trail. That's probably why it's not as well known or popular. None the less its still pretty awesome! Thank you!
👍👍
Thank you!!
I can see how the place got it's name, they do look like hats on top of the hoodoos, amazing how nature can carve out these formations, thanks for taking us on the hike
Yeah, it's a pretty interesting place to hike to! It's definitely very appropriately named! Bryce Canyon National Park is pretty amazing! Thanks, Craig!
I always love me some Bryce Canyon. What a beautiful day!
Yeah, Brace Canyon is an awesome national park!! I lucked out with the weather for the most part, thankfully. Thanks for watching, brother 🙏
Nice name and a great day to do it in as well. Perfect GoPro weather and sounds like you got dam lucky with the last parking spot. That was a great trail to hike really letting you enjoyed the wonderful scenery. Shame the weather changed and by the sound of it you started back at the right time, cheers Alan
Thank you so much, Alan! The weather was nice in the beginning and boom! This hike was definitely pretty impressive! I'm glad you like what you saw. Thanks Alan!
Got to love the grand canyon! We didn't make it over to the North rim when we were there. Ooooooh! New camera! I got a new camera this year as well - looking forward to using it on our next trip (April). Lots of fantastic canyon views from these trails. Looks like a really nice mix of scenery.
I love my new camera and I hope that you love yours as well! North Rim is a lot less visited than the South Rim. The canyon views were definitely great! Thanks Josh!
You sure know how to find some beautiful hikes! Lake hikes are some of my favs.
Thank you so much, Josh! The eastern sierras has some beautiful lakes!
Wow, that are is really interesting. The columns do indeed look very manmade. Nature is quite amazing - can do things that seem impossible. Great bucket list item!
Yeah, it was great to finally see these in person! Nature is pretty amazing! It took years and years to create, and now looks at them! Thanks, Josh!
Eric, this is a beautiful compaction of Peekaboo. It is like reliving our time there. Thank you for sharing your trip and photo/video skills! Take care always 😊
Man, it was an amazing hike! I honestly couldn't stop filming or taking pictures of this one! I'm so glad to hear that this brought back good memories of your experience on this trail! Thank you so much, James!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video! What brought me here was information I found on Methuselah, the actual tree in that area which is estimated to be 4,800 years old. I’m not a hiker myself, but was able to experience these wonderful trees through your amazing video. And for this I thank you!🙏
Yeah, they do say that the worlds oldest Bristlecone Pine tree is located here, but it's not marked. They actually want it to be a secret, so nobody damages it. I love the fact that I was able to show you this area virtually. I'm glad you saw what you were looking for, and I really appreciate the comment. Thank you so much for watching!
Fun fact. In 1977 the original Pete’s Dragon was filmed here. Those caves were the Dragons home. Also prior to PGE owning the property its was a close friends families. After the PGE Acquisition they remained in the house there as watch. They remained until the state park was expanded to include this portion as public access and a maned gate was set up. There. Has been talks for years about expanding the trail to connect to Avila, I’m not sure if that will ever become reality but it would be very cool if it did. I think the concern in maintaining security at the electrical plant.
Wow! Those are all pretty interesting fun facts that I didn't know about! I appreciate you sharing that. Thank you so much for checking out this video as well!
I’m glad to be able to add a little context to a great video. After this mornings blueberry muffins are out of the oven and kids devour them we are head to the caves to look for pirate treasure. Did you know there was a pier in the south smaller cove at Spooners? It was used for many imports to the ranch as well as smuggling during prohibition. Or so the story goes.
No, I actually did not know that. You're talking about prohibition era history! You really know your stuff!!
Wow, Bryce Canyon...I visited Bryce at the end of August this year. Hiking the Navajo/Kings Garden Trail. I'm happy to be able to see another trail with you. Bryce Canyon is something very special nature. The light and colours are great. Thank you
I'm glad you were here recently, and I am happy to show you what you didn't get to see. You did some really good hikes though! Bryce Canyon is pretty amazing and unique! It's definitely a place of unparalleled beauty! Thanks for watching another video of mine and your continued support of my channel!
Amazing rock formations.
Thank you so much! They were definitely cool!
Wonderful videography!
@geezerpleasers_OG Thank you so much, my friend! My new GoPro Hero 13 Black is awesome, and I really love using it! Much appreciated!
is there more of a crowd in Oct because of the cooler temps compared summertime, beautiful scenery along the trail, very cool seeing all though rock formations you filmed against the blue sky (the best being the "wall of windows") amazing the golden/orange color of the land, looking forward to the next hike
Wow!! Absolutely breaktaking. Beautiful scenery, that I am sure changes quite dramatically with the sun's positioning. 😂 😂sensitive plants 👍👍 👍👍
Thank you so much, Craig! The hike was amazing, and the Wall Of Windows was super cool! I definitely will show you more of Bryce Canyon soon! Much appreciated, my brother 🙏.
@adventuringoutdoorswitheric thanks brother will be looking forward to seeing, hope you had a good Thanksgiving
@ecttreker9816 Thank you so much! I am glad that you enjoyed the video and found that sensitive plants comment funny, lol. Bryce Canyon is a pretty awesome place to hike at! Much appreciated!
So, I literally laughed out loud from your comment on the sensitive plant life sign 🤣. This is perfect timing for you to release this amazing video as I just got my stay booked in Panguitch, UT to explore the area for a few days in June. Thanks, as I always enjoy and appreciate your content, Eric, for always giving me a great insight into interested beautiful areas! Hope you have a great Holiday season this winter! 🙌
I am glad you found that comment funny, lol. It is so awesome that you have a trip booked out here! You are totally going to love it!! I definitely want to come back around the same time next year! Thank you so much for watching and your kind words! Much appreciated! Happy Holidays to you as well, my friend!!
Looks so pretty there. Wow, what a great waterfall! You are right, very impressive. The second one was even more spectacular. Double prizes with 2 waterfalls. Great hike.
Thank you so much for checking out this video! Yes, this was definitely a great hike with 2 awesome waterfalls! I am really glad that you enjoyed seeing it! Much appreciated, my friend!
Amazing views and colours and always cool to do a brand new hike, especially in September was a good temperature as well. The views over the canyon were stunning and always nice to get a bit of flat walking in a hike as well. Amazing hike and some amazing footage as well, real crisp and colourful, cheers Alan
It was overall great hike and weather and hike! The canyon views on this trail are definitely amazing! Yes, having flat sections is always a big huge plus! Thank you so much, Alan! Always appreciated my friend!
Spectacular colors and views 👍👍
Thank you so much, my friend! I really did this trail at the perfect time, honestly! It was a beautiful and amazing hike!
wow that section of your hike with the golden yellow colors of the leaves so beautiful and the views of the Canon along the way amazing
Yeah, this was just an amazing overall hike! It exceeded my expectations, and it wasn't crazy hard. I don't think there is a better time of year to come here, honestly. Thanks, Craig! Much for brother 🙏
I thought you were riding done the Uncle Jim trail when I saw those horses or were they donkeys? I am still on the Hero10 and I was temped by the 13 but thought I would hold out for another year, hoping for a bigger sensor on the next one. Loved those Autumn (Fall) colours in the trees and the whole canyon looked amazing. The GoPro seemed to do a good job for me, cheers Alan
Yes, those were actually horses used for horseback riding tours. Your videos still look really good with the 10! It won't hurt to wait for the 14! For me, the 13 performs really well, and I have been very happy with it! Thank you so much, Alan!
Hi Eric, I haven't seen any sun here for over three weeks, temperatures are around 8 degrees Celsius. Your beautiful video recordings make me want to travel and enjoy the nature you showed. The blue of the sky....
I'm sorry to hear that the weather has been so miserable there! I hope that changes soon. Also, I want you to come back out here and enjoy this for yourself. Thanks for your continued support of the channel, my friend! Much appreciated!
Beautiful fall colors Eric! And special thanks for providing the North Rim playlist. You're one stop shopping for North Rim planning. Thanks :)
Awesome! I am glad you found this video informative and enjoyable. Yes, I definitely want to help you plan your trip out here! Thank you so much for watching!
How long did this hike take?
I've done this hike 2x, and I take around 4 hours. You're gonna stop a lot for pictures because the scenery is just amazing on this one. Unlike anything you've ever seen before. Thanks for watching
@@adventuringoutdoorswithericThank you so much for your response. I’m doing this hike in the coming weeks and your video got me excited about it!

@adventuringoutdoorswitheric most appreciated
Hello, "Eric"! Thank you for showing us such a great video! I found it very interesting! I'm looking forward to your next work!
Thank you so much, my friend! It's awesome to hear from you! Much appreciated!
Wow, quite cool for an August morning. I expected it to be warmer than that during August. The lake views here are quite epic, aren't they?! Landscape shifts a lot during this hike. Really helps keep things exciting. Duck lake is spectacular!
The good thing is the summers are mild here! The lake views are super amazing! It's really great that you pass so many of them! The hike is a great challenge as well, especially if you go as far as I did! Thanks, Josh!
How far was your walk to diamond creek after salt creek? Also instead of doing the loop around can you go back the same way you came?
It's slightly under two miles to get to the falls. You could do it as an out and back, but it would be pretty much the same distance doing it as a loop. Thanks for watching.
Looks awesome. I’ve never been to the north rim. I’d love to do this hike one day.
Yeah, the North Rim is really amazing, and I hope you get to see it for yourself! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks for sharing this view. We were in Las Vegas and also at the Hoover Dam, but we didn't have enough time for the Grand Canyon The nature, the green of the trees and this great blue sky, plus the canyon, great
I am sure you will be back someday and see the Grand Canyon with your own eyes! It is truly a sight to see! Thanks for checking out another video of mine, and I am really glad that you enjoyed it!
That looked a real bust car park but when you are getting views like that there, I can see why and that water at the lake was crystal clear! Yep, I would be a bit worried if I saw a bear on the trail, especially if she had cubs too but I guess with all those people from the car park about, not much chance of bumping into a bear there. The trail to the lake sure got quiet mind, I wonder where everyone else was, who would want to miss out on those views, cheers Alan
The main reason the parking lot was so busy is because people go to the lake to fish, and there are tons of trails, not just this one. But I was happy the crowds didn't hike on this one! I remember I had bear spray the time I saw the bear family. I am really glad I did not have to use it! Thank you so much, Alan, my friend!
Great memories for me here on your video! It was a beautiful day on those trails for us too 😊Thank you, Eric and take care always.
I am glad you have got to experience the North Rim also! It's definitely a gem 💎! Thanks, James! I always appreciate it!
Absolutely stunning views. Pretty sure you have the new camera settings spot on. 👍👍
Yes, the footage turned out fine, luckily! Thanks for checking out another video of mine and commenting!
AWESOME views! Thanks for this hike! I want to go!
Thanks for watching, my friend! I hope you get to check it out one day!
Great video again....We were in South Rim in May and we wanted to go to North Rim but couldn't get there because of snow....but it's still on our bucket list
Thank you so much! I think it's something like a 4.5 hour drive from the South to the North Rim, which sounds crazy! But I would definitely recommend doing this in September. As you could see the weather was nice and it wasn't crowded at all. Thanks for checking out another video of mine, my friend!
I think you picked a good time of the year for the hike being not as hot and few people, I can just imagine in the summer months all the tourists there, amazing views of the Canyon from the different overlooks, overall nice hike Eric (that must be something to hike to the bottom and then back up the Canyon)
Yeah, I definitely picked a great time a year to do this hike for sure! The hike to the bottom of the Canyon they don't recommend doing it in a day. It's safer and better to camp out! Thanks, Craig!
@@adventuringoutdoorswitheric that must be some hike to do then with camping out on the way
Beautiful nature
Thank you! The Grand Canyon is truly an amazing place.
