Nice big car park and some great colour in those trees, I can see why you like to hike there every year. Not a long hike but sure was a pretty one and I would prefer 73 rather than 108 degrees and what a great lake to walk towards. Nice to bump into someone who watches the channel, always gives me a real lift. Yes a real tranquil place and super views there too, cheers Alan

Thanks for sharing. Thought about hiking this. The views aren't that great for Yosemite. If I rate Upper Cathedral Lake a 9, Gaylor Lake a 7, this would be a 5

Another very nice video and another goal if I can travel to the USA again I was in Las Vegas at the end of August and the temperatures were fierce. But wherever I'm at home, ten degrees Celsius less feels just as bad because of the huminity.

Fun fact, mt Charleston is the 8th most prominent peak in the lower 48, she isnt small.

very colorful lake for sure and coming across the waterfalls was cool, the views of Sky Meadows were very beautiful to see and you must of enjoyed the cooler temps from what you have in LV, being there 3 days do you camp out or motel in the area

Awesome! Great Basin is my favorite National Park. I've spent a lot of time there in years past. Baker Lake and Johnson Lake are also really nice hikes.

Great video, as always. I was just out at that trailhead area 2 days ago. I didn't even know this trail was there until then. I saw the signs for the trail, and I saw that steep downhill at the start. I looked all around for the actual trail, and finally realized that the steep downhill WAS the trail. I don't know if I'll be taking my old septuagenarian bones down that hill. But if I do, I'll probably do it as two separate hikes. For the first one, I'll follow the trail the way you went, and turn around at the first rock scramble. For the second one, I'll go the way you came back on the loop, and turn around at the second rock scramble. Your videos are always so informative and helpful.

Not too bad a drive for you and nice to get an easy hike but also get two lakes to hike too. Looked real lush, plenty of trees and both lakes looked great and I did not expect anything Alpine so close to the desert, cheers Alan

Looked great weather, prefect for a hike and although not a long hike, it sure looked a tough hike. Shame about the closed car park and extra hiking but still worth it for a great days hiking. Some real impressive trees, dam old as well, never knew a tree could survive as long as that. Funny in that heat, seeing snow and a glazier as well cheers Alan

Great Basin NP doesn't seem to get much attention but definitely looks scenic.
