    To add to your torch theme, if you burn the grain, then take a grinder with a wire wheel and go over the whole thing, it’ll take out the low part of the grain and leaving behind the hard part raised. This makes a very cool looking weathered distressed look. Then burn again and stain.

    I really liked the design, the laces cables and the old bulbs, but I did not like the two bars that join the woods. Good job champion ...

      I realize I'm kind of randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to watch newly released series online?

    how do you connect to ceiling wires ?? .what do you do with the ground wire from ceiling ? do you leaved it disconnected ?

    • @enanosky
      @enanosky 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      its disconnected, one of the DIY mistakes in lots of videos are the electrical part, its a personal project obviously most of the material aren't UL label.but its acceptable if there is no electrical inspection on your list.
      I would suggest making the splices on a handy box and not putting mire that 4 wires in box, maybe you can even them up by amount of wires. and leave a pigtail long enough for ceiling lights would also recommend searching for a 3 wires cords(black/white/ground) if not at least see a way to ground lights. safety first, we tend to say nothing will happen and it might be true, but if there is a short in lights it could cause fire, or somebody to get electrocuted

    This particular beam is a CCA pressure treated highway guardrail end treatment post (I know, I used to make them), hence the green color and 2.25" hole. They're free, sure, but I hope you washed your hands after all the handling. Chromated Copper Arsenate will gasify with the heat of the torch. Dude... they look amazing, but be careful with "free" wood!

    Very cool! Can I ask about how much this cost you if you even know? Wanting to make a single one for our kitchen

    • @jaredegli7206
      @jaredegli7206 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kaylee Dickens it cost less than $150
      We had the beams given to us so we didn’t have to pay for those. The most expensive part was the electrical wiring and the pipes.

    What gage wire did you run from your light sockets?

    • @AroundOurWorldin80
      @AroundOurWorldin80  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We used 18 gauge but anything between 14-18 would work! The more lights you are going to run requires a smaller number gauge (the smaller the number, the bigger the wire)!

    No way that fan box is rated to hold that much weight.

    • @jaredegli7206
      @jaredegli7206 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn’t actually secure the chandelier to the fan box. The lag bolt is driven about 4 inches into a 2x8 crossbeam. The fan box is just to safety house the electronics.
