Actually currently in a shop now getting a new AGP wastegate put on because the stock one couldn't handle the boost from the Diablosport tune. But all I have is 1 step colder sparkies, K&N Cold Air Intake, muffler delete, Diablosport 93 Tune, and I went from about 265 to the wheels to 309. Probably might get more once the new Watstegate is as I hope that is what will stop the violent sputtering after X amount of boost. Lol. But I love my CSRT4.
Pontiac Ws6 is a great choice aswell btw. I own a moded 2002 Ws6 in black with the 6 speed. The ls1 is God tier, reliable, comes with power and can handle more power. Of course I may be biased because it was my first car.

I had a 98 saab 900 2.0t with a 5spd. It had a stage 3 tune and was boosted to 21psi. It would do 115 in 3rd. Fastest i had it was 160. Best part is I paid $500 for it initially.
Don't know the US market but in the UK, VW/Audi group cars with the 1.8T are a decent buy if you want cheap power. You can get a MK4 Golf GTI or MK1 Audi TT or A3 for well under £1000 in the UK and they're already packing 180bhp. Stage 1 remap, 210bhp is easily had. A few bolt ons and 240bhp is a realistic target for the factory turbo. If you're lucky enough to find a TT 225, S3 or LCR with the 225bhp engine you're looking at 260bhp easily with a tune and ratty examples of those cars can be found for a few grand.

Wow, you actually mentioned the Dodge Omni GLH. Back in the day (I can say that because I was born in the middle of the 70's) my father bought one in 1985 (Oh, the impeccable K-cars) he drove it until I was around 14 and he parked it and got a pickup. I would sneak it out of the garage and drive it, that was where I learn to drive a manual car. It was a blast until I lost three of the five gears, including reverse. But it's still moved only with two gears. It eventually was fixed my father drove it for a while and sold it in the early 90's.
Gavin R actually they did in 87-88. We got has the Chevrolet sprint turbo. It had a 3cyl. Turbo and made 70hp stock. It was crap. Blew turbos and head gasket constantly.
Pick up a third gen Cavalier or Sunfire, preferably an 03-05 so it already has the Ecotec, LE5 intake from a Delta based Eco, LNF turbo kit from the Cobalt or ION in this video, and you have a monster of a sleeper. Add in some BC coilovers for 900 bucks and some good tires if you like the twistes.
As a cobalt owner I appreciate making the list. I bought.mine for.1200$ eight years ago. Sadly my engine is pretty much toast at 220k. It has 0 psi on cyl 2 and NY rust makes a new engine swap kinda a bad idea. .... but 40 mpg so 🤷♂️
I have owned 2 1gen eclipses, 2 2gen, also a 3g. The difference between the Evo 4g63 is the cam shafts are on the other side compared to the eclipse. At one point I had 1 of 8 Turboed 3g eclipses with the Evo head swap since the 4g64 had it's camshafts on the same side. So I had a Stroked Evo motar in theory. T40b Turbo on 16psi, Adjustable Cams, Pistons and rods, valves polished and honed, and built a custom intake manifold since I had the turbo piping customly ran. Dyno was 343hp. The engine wasn't even the biggest thing I was proud of. That would be the ECUs I had to run. I kept the automatic in the car but needed the base map from the Evo. I build a little custom box to keep them in behind the center console. I had to rewire them and had wiring diagrams and schematics everywhere. It was crazy but when I cranked that car and pushed the gas, that car would fuckin scoot. I didn't take it to a strip before I traded it (got a S10 I bagged, a Hatchi-Roku (AE86) the good one, and a GSX-R 750 in parts (I love projects), and a Yamaha R6. We also built a couple of buggies using a 4g63 and a Hayabusa Motar.
Never said it would make a good starter bike, just said it was fast. An you can pick up used one for a couple grand and be able to walk 99% of cars on the road in a roll race. That's pretty damn impressive for the money
My friend bought an Eagle Talon (his first car) in a parking lot from some guy who babied the hell out of it then immediately brought it over to flex in front of all his friends. He managed to total it into a mailbox while pulling up trying to rip a donut. He had less than 12 miles on it and didn’t have any insurance on her since he just bought her. That was his happiest/saddest day. Worked all summer for 12 miles.
Saturn Ion baby! I own one of these and its not a redline but its the next best trim level at level 3 and is a 2.4 ecotec. I gotta say she sneaks up to 80 when I'm just tryna be a good boy and obey the speed limit.
Carlo Hernandez Mojica yea sure the Z and the G are much more popular options but the Altima is the cheapest way to get access to that engine and power if straight line performance in mind..
ToneysWorld ehhh idk about them being faster cuz I personally own a G35 and my boy owns an Altima and the 350Z and the Altima is slower than my G and his own Z. The Z is faster than my G
Abdelhameed Alotaibi yeah its a faster way but its not the same as owning a G or a Z because the Altimas is a VQ35DE with around 240 hp while the G35 VQ is 280 hp and 298 and then the Z has the VQ35HR variant and the G has the Rev Up module after 05 soo yeah... lol
3rd gen acura tl. base models came with like 270ish hrsprs and a 6spd, stay away from the 04-06 automatics or make sure theres proof that the trans was rebuilt. manuals were fine. theres also the type s variant which sounds like a baby v10 with about 290 hrsprs but very hard to find in manual but the autos had paddle shifters, and a mint condition one will cost you about 11k+ while a "meh" condition tl-s will go for about 6-8k. base models can go anywhere from 3-6k.
Dunno what the prices are like in the US but i bought my one owner (high mileage) W210 E55 AMG for less than £4 grand, they have 350bhp stock and a tune can give you another 10%, if you want more power the supercharged W211 E55 has 460bhp ish from the factory and can run low 12s,, both versions make loads of torque from way down low so they always "feel" fast despite the slow gearbox.

Now we really need to mention that the same ecotec 2.0 liter engine as in the Cobalt is also in a SAAB 93 2003+, making 207hp stock (turboed, not supercharged), can be found dirt cheap. Aftermarket also exists for those, tuners are well known and even without replacing the turbo for a bigger blower, you can easily increase the power. 314mm Aero brakes are bolt-on replaceable with 345mm brakes from 2008+ model :) so, I mean, plenty of fun for little money. 2008+ is made as XWD too!

Bro where's my Chevy HHR SS??! Same Turbo motor as the Cobalt SS and look wicked ! 👍🔥👍🔥
Do they go for cheap?
@@LouisSubearth probably, they're fuck ugly so I wouldn't be surprised if owners are just looking to get rid of them
@@LouisSubearth they do, not as cheap as the Saturn for basically the reasons stated in the video but definitely cheaper then the cobalt the most well known of the three
My grandpa had an hhr panel wagon. I love the look, but it’s way too small inside and visibility is shit.
Brandon Reid HHR are ugly af
04-06 GTO? Easily found those for under $10k
KoolJ right I found one for 5500 auto but hey.
KoolJ auto ones sure. Not 6mt
yeah pretty surprised they weren't listed in either of the two videos
They also handle pretty decently, much better than any other mid 00s muscle car.
I have a 2.2 NA cobalt manual. I got it for $1000 and haven't had any problems. I was all ready planning to supercharge it and was glad to see it on this list !
Up 2 speed on the t bird
Saab 9-3's are pretty good for around 4k
But they're absolutely the worst to work on and the hardest to get any more power out of it (a new tune does wonders thou)
@@BeastBlack270 not hard to tune the 2.8 and get lots of hp out of.
What's so hard to work on them about it's literally a Cobalt engine and if you're not replacing computer parts you don't even need a Tech 2
@@anthonybarr250 well i had to replace the starter motor in mine the other week and it was probably the most annoying thing ever
Working on a saab is similar to working on a heavily modded car you bought off the internet
They both have lots of crap in the way of the crap you need to get to 😂
I'd much rather do the starter on my Saab and have to redo the starter on my Passat lol both 2.0t engines the Passat has way more stuff in front of the starter
Took ya' awhile on the DSMs. Ya welcome for that suggestion. Another cheap-ish but slightly harder to find car is a Chrysler 300C AWD w/a 5.7L. 350HP and AWD. One of the quicker cars I own and I have more than a handful of DSMs.
Mine was $6,300 with 150k miles. Throttle body spacer and she does pretty well. Mine also has the performance suspension package which I know for sure gives you larger brakes. I don't know all the specifics but it's the ultimate daily.
I got a 98 Prelude, looks like a flaming turd on the outside, but the engine, drivetrain, and interior are all in pretty great shape. I paid $1400 for it.
shred1894 i paid 1350 for a Mercedes C230 great condition lol put 8k miles in 1 month already!
I loved my 04 srt4 didn't take much for 300hp to tires I dynoed mine stock at 245 to wheels
it probably had more like 270 hp if it made 245 wheel
@@blacklabbby yeah I swapped out the turbo with a Garrett t3/t4 hybrid turbo refreshed the ECU added 650.cc injectors cold air intake catless down pipe boost controller and snapped a set of solid motor mounts lol. Wife made me get rid of it when I got a 140 in 70 zone speeding ticket loved that little thing
Youre so right on people sleeping on Preludes dude!
Of all my time on youtube nobody seems to ever mention the 08 pontiac gxp, underrated tbh even if they arent the most reliable
DOMO666GAMING&VLOGS they seem to be more expensive than these tho I feel, I got lucky but normally they are damn near 7-8k
Before this starts just a few of mine- 90s Camaro 300hp 90s eclipse 250 hp srt4
Wow, you actually mentioned the Dodge Omni GLH. Back in the day (I can say that because I was born in the middle of the 70's) my father bought one in 1985 (Oh, the impeccable K-cars) he drove it until I was around 14 and he parked it and got a pickup.
I would sneak it out of the garage and drive it, that was where I learn to drive a manual car. It was a blast until I lost three of the five gears, including reverse. But it's still moved only with two gears.
It eventually was fixed my father drove it for a while and sold it in the early 90's.
Cobalts SS super underrated !
Ion redline prices about to go up 😭. One of GM's best secrets.
My buddy literally just bought one and they’re cool as hell. The interior is so cool and it’s got Recaros stock!
My current daily is a 05 Cobalt SS and it's a blast to drive!
I love the early 2000's Mustang design. Grew up with them though.
Fox body boy
Early 2000s are mostly called new edges. They’re absolutely beautiful when done right. The early sn95s are generally pretty ugly tho
As far as I am ware the Switft GTI (G13B engine) never came out with a turbo from the factory, it was NA.
Yeah we didn't get turbos. I had a 89, fun little car
LMFAO that mustang with an LS engine in the background
05 Pontiac gran prix gxp came stock with 5.3 ls4
But they're heavy and fwd
The 3.8 V6 with the supercharger get it on pretty damn good too
what about 09 Pontiac G8 it got a 6.0 V8,, we modifi the fuck out of them over here it even gives hellcats a run for there money
thats a terrible car...midsize+FWD+lots of power+TERRIBLE stock suspension= death
As a cobalt owner I appreciate making the list. I bought.mine for.1200$ eight years ago. Sadly my engine is pretty much toast at 220k. It has 0 psi on cyl 2 and NY rust makes a new engine swap kinda a bad idea. .... but 40 mpg so 🤷♂️
Ain't an expert about swift gti but I think that the stock GTI has the G13B, which is an inline four of 1.3 naturally aspirated
True very good engine's however there getting super rare prices going up to 7k in the eu
Better of with a g13bb its sohc but still makes good power
Guys the Swift Gti had an N/A 1.3L I4 engine making 100 -101 hp not a turbo I3
I have owned 2 1gen eclipses, 2 2gen, also a 3g.
Well to be honest if u just wanna go stupid fast for pretty cheap....
All i have to say is liter bikes.
thats really stupid tho. You don't want anything more than a 650 as a starter
Liter bikes are cheap???
Never said it would make a good starter bike, just said it was fast. An you can pick up used one for a couple grand and be able to walk 99% of cars on the road in a roll race. That's pretty damn impressive for the money
@F4K3 N3W5 This is obvious to pretty much any person that rides. So only a newbie would find the comment actually interesting.
Carlos Anderson you can find used litre bikes for well under $4000
"How do you go fast??"
Simple, add more power
"But am #brokeboi, how??"

I’m so happy ya’ll threw in the Silverado lol
Chevy colbolt an srt4 r my cup of tea ! 👏👌😉
Saturn Ion baby! I own one of these and its not a redline but its the next best trim level at level 3 and is a 2.4 ecotec. I gotta say she sneaks up to 80 when I'm just tryna be a good boy and obey the speed limit.
Nissan altima V6 2006 , E55 AMG 2003 , Chevy Caprice 6.0 V8 2007 ...
Abdelhameed Alotaibi idk about the altima cuz its a VQ35DE which is a nice engine but people would rather get the G or the Z. For its RWD
Carlo Hernandez Mojica yea sure the Z and the G are much more popular options but the Altima is the cheapest way to get access to that engine and power if straight line performance in mind..
@@carlow_fc1 Yes but the Altima or fwd vqs are way faster

Pretty cool that you put a Suzuki in the list !! Really nice pocket rockets :v

I kinda agree Kyle Montano.
Big up Nolan & donut media. Those swift gti's are dirt cheap here. I'm inspired me to buy one now. What would y'all think is a good swap for this thing. K20, 4age 20v, sr20, 2zz, b18/b20?

What about a 2007 nissan altima 3.5 with a six speed manual??
quick reliable car without a forced induction upgrade. Neon srt4, manual Nissan 350z, manual Accord v6. all run under 6 second 0-60. Easy engine swaps for nissan v6 and honda v6 motors. Anyone got links to find more of this madness?
Swift gtis are really common in Greece actually, they can be priced from 2 to 5k€
@Julian Florez in Greece the gti comes with a turbo 1.3L inline 3 making 101 hp
@@sotirispolitis4617 Nope, the 1.3 doing 100hp is not turbo. The turbo engine was the 3cyl 1.0L (70 to 75hp, depending of the year)
@@Ebbsilen well in Greece we do have the 1.3 turbo making 101 hp, it's the only available option for the gti version. It's a 1989-2000 model
@@sotirispolitis4617 What is the engine code then? The only turbo engine i ever heard about are 3cyl 1.0. there is plenty of versions of the 1.3 though, but never heard about a turbo one.

You should have mentioned the Pontiac Firebird Trans AM GTA
They didn't make very much power, and are pretty heavy.
