@The Push We all have dreams. Let your dreams be your motivation. I know it can be difficult when you’ve lost all hope, but even a small step in the right direction can be all the difference down the road. You don’t have to put too much effort in the beginning, just like a snowball rolling down a hill, it will eventually gather momentum and mass and it might even become unstoppable.

I lost 65lbs two years ago and have kept it off by basically doing 20:4. I pretty much just eat when I get home from work and then a snack before bed. Doesn’t even feel like I’m dieting. Now I do this 4-5 days a week and eat “normal” on the weekends. I never count calories no matter what day of the week it is. Skin cleared up. I think the secret really is just letting your body rest from constantly processing/digesting food. We snack and pick at food waayyyyyy too much

    *UPDATE 7/4/2020:*

You can do it!!! Try going for lots of meat, cheese, and nuts like almonds, walnuts, and pecans! Pickles are also a good snack if you like them. I've been eating less carbs and doing intermittent fasting for a couple weeks now and I've lost 20 pounds already! And about the handful of fries, it's okay to have a cheat day once in awhile as long as you don't overdo it. If you eat right and within a window of time daily the weight loss will greatly outweigh the gain from the fries.

I lost almost 12 pounds in 3 weeks with 16:8 intermittent fasting. It was difficult in first few days but now I am used to it. A cup of black coffee without sugar really helps. Or you may also drink zero carbs sodas. Believe me, with this eating style, you can also stick to low calorie easily.

you don’t really need to cut calories. if you do this you’ll have less time to eat, therefore you’ll have less calories. i went from around 2000 calories a day to under 1500 without even noticing a change.

    • @bunny_0288
      @bunny_0288 2 ปีที่แล้ว

That's awesome that it worked that way for you. I have always had a really big appetite and I can put away a lot of calories in one meal if I'm not careful. I definitely have to count because I'm currently eating 1500 calories a day, and I am still hungry. I could very easily eat more.... and I'm doing an 18:6 fasting schedule. I'm hoping my hunger signals will chill out soon and my body will get used to having less calories, but it's a bit of a struggle right now, which is why I'm counting so I don't unintentionally overeat.

I used to do Intermittent fasting prior to the pandemic. I am a former Muay Thai kickboxing fighter, so at one point my fighting weight was 170 pounds. Being a full time father later on coupled with multiple Covid lockdowns over a year, I gained weight to 240 pounds...and I feel like garbage. The key for me is to do a light workout on my mountain bike indoors hooked up to an indoor trainer between 8 am to 12 p.m. I also do strength training using an OYO Nova Gym in the kitchen overlooking my kids and their homeschooling. They often want to join in. I unfortunately can't go for a walk around where I live due to high crime and one of the highest covid areas in my Province. But if you have time, an hour leisurely walking within the last 4 hours of your fast will tap into that fat storage as energy and keep you moving along on your overall goal. So far I have lost 7 pounds in 2.5 weeks. Good luck to all.

I’m 74, weighing 177, so not really heavy. However, went for blood work and some numbers were high, including A1C, triglycerides and liver enzymes. In 3 months that all changed. I started with low carb, eliminating sugar and most other carbs. Walking 2 miles and doing 16/8 intermittent fasting. I lost 15lbs and all my lab numbers are within range. I can actually do 18/6 fasting now, since I eat at noon and 6PM. Starting intermittent fasting, go slow at first. I started with not eating for 14 hours, and still 3 meals a day. Then I increased and down to 2 meals a day. Breakfast is the hardest doing low carb, but I have breakfast for lunch at times.

Not that anyone asked but I thought an update might be helpful for someone. It’s been 22 days of 20:4 and I’ve done 2 48hr fasts. I’ve lost 24lbs. I feel so much better. I’m half way to my goal.
I honestly cannot believe how amazing this has worked for me. Anyone who struggles with weight I 100% recommend trying IF. Goodluck everyone. If I can do it with a 2 year old toddler running around, you can too 💪💪💪
Edit: currently 6/7 weeks in. I’ve lost 30lbs so far. Doing 72 hour rolling fasts with one hour feeding period.

Guys do not I repeat do not exercise when you fast. There's a big difference between burning fat and your body ketosis eating the fat. If you burn fat you will get loose skin. Try fasting to a healthy weight before you begin training. That way you will have a slim body and no loose skin. Cause when your body eats fat it repairs your skin too.

      Congrats on losing the 45lbs.
Can you please tell us what your schedule was like and what you ate in a day?
I just started my IF journey and I’m on the 3rd day. Realised I eat too many fruits in one day. Gotta get rid of that. I’m doing the 16:8 method.
Will truly appreciate your advise. 😀

Tip 1: Change your mindset about food. Find a reason why you should fast daily.
Tell yourself "I dont need food to be happy or active... I always feel better when i do not eat..." If you are a Christian then you can add this: "It helps curb my desires and gives me more time to think and pray"
Tip 2: Intermittent Fasting is a must do. Forget about keto diet, etc cos they are temporary and not habitual... IF is habitual and sustainable. Do not fast less than 16 hours a day. I do 18 or 20 daily, and drink water regularly...
Tip 3: Meal prep is very important... Make sure you prepare your meals to last for at least 1 week, and they are easily microwaveable. It will stop you from eating unhealthy or unplanned meals. Ensure you add alot of veggies to your meals like carrots, beet, greens, ball peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc... They boost metabolic burning process and make your food rich...
Tip 4: Less cardio, more strength exercises... Cardio makes you exhausted when fasting, but strength makes you feel stronger and muscle building increases your daily metabolic burning rate...
I am 1-2 months in, already burnt more than 30% body fat, fitting into old clothes, feeling healthier, lighter and stronger...
    CONSISTENCY IS KEY!!!
I wish you the best 👍

I was 315 lbs at 5' 11" did one meal a day (OMAD) for 8 months and lost 100 lbs.
I recently felt my clothes a little tighter, and that's why I'm here. Gonna look into this form of fasting cause OMAD is tough, haven't been able to go through a week and I break my fast and I get disappointed and next thing I know I'm opening the fridge.

U guys wanna know a tip. Igh this is a bigggggg tip that’s overlooked. Don’t set ur goals unrealistically. It’s easier said than done. I told myself I wasn’t gonna eat for 2 weeks and train for 13 hours a day. Obviously u guys can guess they didn’t happen. After my first run I binge ate and stopped exercising. Do little joys of exercising and follow the 16:8 method. I go for a bike ride then do ab exercises then on the next day I go for a bike ride and do chest workouts and it works. I lost 1 year cause I pushed my limits too much. Just train a little and IF

Since there's no cure for it, hoping it can be slowed down and kept in the low to moderate stage. Good video!

I used to skip breakfast as a teen. I was never hungry for it. I maintained a healthy weight. When I got married, I had time for breakfast and starting eating it because "it's the most important meal of the day." Funny how that was drilled into us so much. Now my doctor wants me to do 16:8, and it's been easy because I'm rarely hungry in the morning. The weight is dropping off of me!

  • @BlondeExplorer1

I have been fasting since I was a teenager. Just one day a week. In my twenties (long before this intermittent fasting term was used) I experimented and discovered for me a 16 hour fast followed by an 8 hour window to eat healthy worked to reduce and keep pounds OFF. Every 3 weeks I will eat something I want that may not be healthy, but it satisfies me and keeps my weight steady. I found this and many other sites with the 16:8 fasting and it made me smile as I discovered this myself with no knowledge such a thing existed. IT WORKS and I feel fantastic. Be well.

I am doing it for the last two weeks. I am "but you dont look fat" kinda fat. I lost 7Lbs so far. With so little fat loss I am experiencing better sleep and less hungry all the time. What I realized is that my eating habit was part of a discipline and not due to actual hunger. I am doing 18:6. The biggest challenge I face is. Sometimes I dont feel hungry by the end of the eating period but if I dont eat I will feel hungry a couple of hours later. So far the journey has been amazing
