I love it. Reminds me of a SLS AMG that I sw on Top Gear. I also like the Roush curve better, car sounds like it is an auto. That's a power curve for a heavy auto daily driver. The new one is like a race curve for a manual.
Very informative love how you explained the dips I've never seen them or noticed in past dyno vids I seen usually smooth up or flat never dip then climb of the power curbs love how you guys fixed that it seemed odd to me that a car would make certain power dip at a higher rpm(briefly) then proceed to climb wonder how'd that feel in actual race doesn't make sense to me but you guys are awesome very knowledgeable from the content you guys make!
Well done Ken as always. Very informative ... appreciate the fact you don't always seek out just peak numbers but rather the average HP or torque, which is really far more important. Keep em coming!
The stock Roush tune not only takes mechanical durability into account. it passes the same OEM emissions standards as well as catalyst durability/ aging standards as the stock naturally aspirated vehicle. Im a prototype vehicle instrumentation leader for Roush Performance and Ford. We've got some things coming to help those IATs / heat soaking. That looks like a pretty good tune/ dyno graph for the way that vehicle is set up. 👌🏾
Craig that’s bs unless I had a faulty motor. I have a 18 gt with the phase 1 Roush installed from the factory. My cats clogged up and my number 2 cylinder was at 13 %. Never been on the track but drove it like Roush says drive it on the street( still have warranty and still had the Roush tune and you guys didn’t want to warranty it). I got a new long block now and I’m pulling those cats and pulling that Roush tune off.
Yall are turning out to be the next big thing. Everyone and their grandma are talking about yall on FB. Some guys on the mustang page even ditched Lund for your tune. good work for sure.
I have a question. Similiar car for me incoming (2021 though). Does adding the new tune add any considerable stress to the vehicle? Kinda new to tuning and all, i want the extra power but I worry about breaking things. 😅
That really depends on how much power you're adding and how you use the car. In general more power tends to break things, but you should be fine with just a tune.
Nice video man! I love the detailed description of the changes you did to the tune up. Can you go into a little more detail about the drivability part that you change to the tune please. That’s where we feel it day in and out, every single time we drive these cars and nobody, I mean nobody ever talks about that. Thanks for the video and keep them coming Sir!
We are going to start doing drive/review videos of some of the cars with the owners when time allows. The extra torque down low as well as all the transmission tuning makes a world of difference in how it drives.
This just makes more sense. I like how roush stage 2 is a basic heat exchanger that should have came in the box already and a tune. I’m willing to bet the TB is holding it back at upper rpms.

Thinking of doing roush phase 1 complete kit is this what this car has? Also how much for tuner and tune for this setup i have the locked Lund nguage little did I know! I do have headers reason I cant use the roush tune.
If you haven’t pulled the PD tigger yet, do the Edelbrock or VMP Odin. The R2650 is a heat soak pain in the a**. Roush failed big time with the blow down design.
Is there a simple direct bolt-on/upgrade option that would keep heat soak down on the Roush setup? Unnecessary heat soak is lame. Would simply adding the more efficient intercooler void the Ford 3yr/36 warranty if stock Roush tune was kept?
The best option in my opinion is dropping the roush tank next to the pump. I think having the hot water stored in the tank is a poor design. I mounted a 5 gallons cell in the trunk and have the hot water pass through the radiator first. Then return to the tank. I think the largest volume of water should be cool water not hot.
