I used to read about a book a month but this year my reading has slowed a bit after having less time, so that's why I picked up audiobooks so I can listen while I drive!
Great list. I'm going through the Artist Way as well. Based on your list I think you might like The Instant Millionaire: A Tale of Wisdom and Wealth by Mark Fisher. It's a great short story that's very inspiring.
I am so obsessed with you are a badass at making money. I listened to it on audible and when I finished it I had to start it all over again! Jen Sincero is a genius! I definitely want to check out the slight edge - adding it to my list! I could REALLY use some help with staying consistent. I have so many big dreams and goals but staying consistent is one of my biggest blocks. Great recommendations! ❤️
honestly I have been on you tube and social media and I have been thinking of quiting social media because of how mind draining it is. But thank you for giving me so much ideas and just motivating me. I am currently on a marathon trying to catch up on your videos. I have no idea how to explain to you, I wish your my best friend, You are like a lesile knope of our personalities. The current me and future me is the best thing for people like us. Thank you soooooooooooooooooo much
I purchased Jen Sincero book the very day I saw this video and I have to say a BIG thank you to you for recommending it. It happened at the right time together with another project I am thinking about. Now I am all about planning this new project and, hopefully, make some good money from that. I strongly believe in the power of saying out clear and loud what you want and I am founding this big truth with many other valid suggestions in Jen's book. So, thank you very much for this video. :)
+Lavendaire I'm rereading A New Earth atm. I read it once years ago. I have to read it slowly to absorb the ideas in it. I'm a huge bookworm, so I'm always looking for recommendations. I haven't read the Slight Edge yet, but will check it out soon.

I'm on week 7 of The Artist's Way and I adore it!!! I'd love to see a video from you on that after you finish the 12-week program! (I'm also thinking of doing one, but I'm a bit afraid...) If you haven't already, I think you should definitely read Danielle Laporte's "White Hot Truth". It still is a self help/development book but it's nothing like anything I've read. It's so real, talking about "practical spirituality" and doing our practices in a way that they don't feel like another to-do in our lists. Love it! xoxo Evi
After watching your video I googled Jen Sincero and found her first book "You are a badass" here on TH-cam. I loved it! Thank you so much for recommending her books. I am going to buy the hard copy to work through her advise and I'm excited to read or listen to this second one. I will also look into the others you recommend.
Good list. I have started reading You are a badass by Jon Sincero. Like you I read on my laptop or tablet pc or mobile. I have download tons of great books and have created a perfect digital library for myself. So I keep opening up books on the go whenever I get the time out of my work.
amazing tips! thanks Aileen! ❤ You're changing my life, I started to writing and drawing more after watching your videos! thank u so much! sending u love from Brazil ❤
I totally recommend Norweigan Wood by Haruki Murakami! It's so beautifully written, favorite summer book by far. I've read 4 out of the five you've recommended and I'm sooooo fan-girling right now!!!
I like your taste about books..I always buy the ones you recommend..I have read a new earth..and you are right I found it very deep..the first quarter I struggled to understand what I was reading..I think I will read it again later.. thank you
I'm currently reading: Design your life (library) You are a badass at making money. (My own) And when I'm done with those I want to try and get through The fuzzy and the techie, And A World in Disarray. The first two are my main focus right now though because it's a library checkout and I need some positivity and actionable tips/mindsets on money now!
I love this video! You easily make me want to add those 5 to my TBR. Thanks for sharing, Aileen. :) I'd like to recommend these books which are about in the same genre as you mention: 1. As a man thinketh, by James Allen 2. The art of Thinking Clearly, by Rolf Dobelli and 3. Peace is Every Step, by Thich Nhat Hanh
LifeWithStyle I think I've listened to all the Sarah Dessen books, This Lullaby is my other fave. I will have to check out the author you mentioned as I've heard so many great things!
I loved your list, I'm a voracious audiobook reader and an artist so I actually came to recommend a bunch of the books I ended up spotting on your reading list, so here are some ones I came up with that I didn't see - I started my self love and self improvement journey with the talented and amazing SARK, her books are all drawn and illustrated so I would recommend the print copy for her stuff - Succulent Wild Women is the one I remember getting when I was 14 and it really instilled a lot of confidence in me. I am also a huge fan of Jack Canfield, Julia Cameron & Elizabeth Gilbert. Have you read Love Warrior and Carry On, Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton? Must reads! I loved the audiobooks. I actually found out about the from her interview on Marie TV so you may already be familiar. You don't really talk about love on your channel? I wonder if you ever will. Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari is wildly interesting - a comprehensive study he undertook with a researcher interviewing thousands of people dating in the internet world, so entertaining and illuminating. Also The Power of Habit - I'm sure you'd REALLY like this one - because it has so many scientific studies and really really interesting examples that back the practices you already promote on this channel so it might be a fun resource for some of your lessons. Well I really hope one of these is new to you, I'd love to be able to share something with you since you've shared so much with me. And of course, I can't wait to hear your audiobook💜
I am reading, "An almanac for the heart" by Nikki Gemmell... It's really easy and fun to read, It's basically about friendship, love, risk, creativity, beauty, ambition... It's a very easy and simple but enriching full of nice quotes about life.😍 I love you, Aileen😘
You should try 20-Something, 20-Everything: A Quarter-life Woman's Guide to Balance and Direction by Christine Hassler; Great for those getting done with college.
Just started Trevor Noah's "Born a Crime" yesterday. Didn't know it was going to be mentioned. ☺️. I will definitely check out "The Power of Now." Thanks hon.
Why did I found your channel only now ?? It have exactly all what I've been searching for, motivation, positivity and all, plus you're super cute and have a soft voice and omg I suscribe like right now !
Thank you for uploading this video! I understand that it probably took a lot of preparation, but I really appreciate it, and I look forward to reading a couple of these books! I'm sure others will too :) Thanks!!
I'm currently reading Way of a Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman, at first it was hard to follow because the pace is rapid in the beginning but it's a story that touches on very deep spiritual/existential themes that literally everyone should read, especially if you feel like you have been going through a mental slump. I just started reading the Artist's way because of a past video recommendation you made ^_^
YES!!! that's what I've been waiting for! totally useful. I'll keep some of the books you mentioned in my books list and I hope I will read them soon and let you know what I think! I just have a hard time finishing a book like you do. It takes me 6 month to finish one book while you finish 5 books in the summer time. I feel shame lol. But I'm still on my way to be a faster reader and to try to give some more time to this habit. thanks for your recommendation and making this video. I'm just curious to know what time of the day is the best for you to read? mine is in my free time and mornings. let me know what's the best time for you? thanks again. love 💜
Stacy Fun don't be ashamed! I read slower this year too. Best time for me to read is at night before bed. But since I got busier I listen to more Audiobooks on Audible when I'm driving!
Lavendaire I tried to listen to the books instead, it doesn't work for me that much. I get distracted. plus I like to have the books that I have read in front of me so I feel proud and never to forget the time I spent and enjoyed when reading them :)
Aileen I just finished You Are a Badass at Making Money after you recommended it. I loved it!!!! Thank you 😊. Love your stuff. Keep at it friend. All the way from Costa Rica I am a big big fan.
You should write a book Aileen! I know you have a podcast, which is AMAZING, but I think you could be a really successful author. Even just a book of inspirational tips and ideas to keep by your bed.
I listened to You Are a Badass at Making Money and it was so funny. I love her. I may re-listen again soon. After that, audible recommended "29 Gifts" to me so I listened to it and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Hi Aileen! Thank you for these recommendations. They're truly a gem. I just thought you might be interested to read The Vortex by Esther and Jerry Hicks. It is as awesome :)
Have you ever read "Cloud Atlas", by David Mitchell? "The Bone Clocks" is pretty good, too. Your preferences seem focused on non-fiction novels, but if you're ever in the mood for fiction, "IQ84" is also a wonderful read :)
Thanks for the list! I have read only A New Earth. Btw, how do you manage your reading schedule? You seem very busy but still able to read so many books!
Prae58 I used to read at a pace of one book a month, which I did by trying to read 15 min every night. I read slower this year bc I don't have as much time before bed so I started listening to audiobooks when driving to make up for it 😊
love you're videos!! if you haven't read the throne of glass or a court of thorns and roses series, defiantly check those out. There fantasy novels, but they teach you a lot about relationships and there beautifully written :)
Hello lovely! Love your videos ❤️️! Not sure if you have read 'The Invitation' by Oriah (there are two others in the series, The Dance followed by The Call. If you have would like to know your thoughts and if not - a must read ❤️x
Thanks so much for this video! I am currently debating whether to buy hard cover books or the eBooks for the Kindle app... I am leaning towards the eBooks since I want to read them while I travel. What do you prefer/recommend hardcover/ebooks?
Eckhart Tolle sounds immensely interesting, thanks for the rec! I read Julia Cameron's book on writing & her sequel of The Artist's Way, she really is great for writers & all creatives.

YASSSSSSS 🙌 Trevor Noah is a blessing to man kind I loved loved his book. His mother is just an inspiration and just great, although I still didn't listen to the audio but I'm sure it's great. P. S. His mom is a badass
i have problem im not reading person now im struggling to written in english any advice to be motivation to read i try my best to read and but i feel so difficult.. pls can you give advice
Hello, Lavendaire! I'd like to know when do you listen to these audiobooks. Is it while you do chores around the house or it's simply an activity to do in your spare time?
You should definitely read The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer! It's amazing and kind of similar to what Eckhart Tolle talks about in his books. It goes deep in awakening your consciousness and true self. Let me know how you like it!!
I love ur chanel..but I'm new on it..And I wonder if u ever talk about breakup...u know when someone so important to you left you..I just wish you talk about it and and how to deal with all the pain with it..for me I been in pain for 5 month now.......
Emily Torres I don't read as many novels but I really enjoyed The Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert - it sounds like it fits those 3 themes :)
I am excited to read these books soon! Thank you for your recommendations! Right now I am reading a book called The Power of When by Michael Breus. he explains how each person has a chronotype that dictates our best time to wake up, eat, exercise, socialize, do analytic tasks, and more. It is really giving me a good idea on how to plan my day to do tasks when they will be most successful to me. It is a cool concept that I think everyone should be aware of. :-) Also you can take a quiz online to figure out your chronotype. Just google Chronotype Quiz.
I am a bit new to self-help books, but definitely obsessed with them!! I don't take everything in "The Power of When" as if it is law, but i have taken a few of his tips and they are working great! I am glad Lavendaire recommended "You are a Bad*** at Making Money" because i am reading it right now and in love! It is so cool to read these kind of books that empower me to do more with my life and live more intentional. :-)
Here are the timestamps to each book I recommend:

1:44 - Born a Crime by Trevor Noah

Hello, Lavendaire!
I'd like to know when do you listen to these audiobooks. Is it while you do chores around the house or it's simply an activity to do in your spare time?
always listening when i'm driving and sometimes when i'm eating :)
I just started reading "Ask and it is Given" by Esther and Jerry Hicks, it's so good! I would definitely suggest checking it out :)
I definitely have to go back to reading more!! Thanks for the inspo
Simone Wittmann 💕💕
I swear I'm such a child. "Hey guys, it's Lavendaire and I'm back to share..." hehe, that rhymes. LOL great video as always girl!
LA Page Makeup hehe thanks!
You should definitely read The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer! It's amazing and kind of similar to what Eckhart Tolle talks about in his books. It goes deep in awakening your consciousness and true self. Let me know how you like it!!
Thank you!
You're so adorable! These sound great thanks for sharing. :)

Do you have any suggestions of novels? I like themes of family or love or historical fiction. Thanks :)
Emily Torres I don't read as many novels but I really enjoyed The Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert - it sounds like it fits those 3 themes :)

Solve for happy written by Mo Gawdat
I am excited to read these books soon! Thank you for your recommendations!
Right now I am reading a book called The Power of When by Michael Breus. he explains how each person has a chronotype that dictates our best time to wake up, eat, exercise, socialize, do analytic tasks, and more. It is really giving me a good idea on how to plan my day to do tasks when they will be most successful to me. It is a cool concept that I think everyone should be aware of. :-) Also you can take a quiz online to figure out your chronotype. Just google Chronotype Quiz.
StarBright Brilliance how have I never heard of that book??? I need it asap - I'm such a book nerd for those types of books 🤓
I want to take a loooong holiday to just read books... :)
