I'm getting back into flying and after this video it convinced me to put one in each plane. Awesome video. It will boost my confidence to start flying again with stable flight. Thanks for the video.

      Thank You!
I must have a dozen of these now ;-)
I'm also wanting to put one in all of my planes.
The Wind Mitigation is fantastic and I love having that parachute button when I get in serious trouble.

Great flight, that stabiliser is really impressive so glad that it’s effective on larger planes because that’s what I’m fitting them in, it gives me confidence that I can flip a switch and gain control. Keep those videos coming. Michael

      Thank you much Michael!
Yes, I'm impressed with these tiny gyros.
The biggest problem I had was finding an SBUS Receiver to use as I've never installed a Gyro before ;-)
Luckily I had one on hand and didn't even realize it ;-)
I'll have to order more of those.
Now, if I can remember that I have a parachute I'll be able to save my plane before it tries to drill through the Earth.
Having to use Safe Mode to save my T-33 EDF Jet make me think having these in a plane might be a pretty good idea...hehehe!

@@GroundControlRC ppm also works at least on my bench it does, the joy of sbus or ppm is the reduced wiring and these tiny receivers are remarkable they are so light and the range is good. This stabiliser effectively gives the same performance on larger planes that one has with the mini warbirds in fact I would bet a 1 or 2s brushless conversion would be possible with this rx stabiliser configuration on the Mustang. Cheers Michael

      @@michaelwheatland4565 Yes, PPM as well.
I don't really know which is better, SBUS or PPM?
      Or does it even matter?
About all I've used is full size PWM Receivers so these Tiny SBUS/PPM Receivers are new territory for me.
I'm amazed at how small and light those Receivers are, it looks like Magic to me ;-)

I learnt to fly with the G2, thing was destroyed an rebuilt so many times, the nose ended up mostly popsticks till I scored a new one, I love that bird.
I remember reading about the HOTAS Systems, They mention how the F-16 could not be flown without it an A-10 Pilots said it made the workload much easier and the weapon deadlier.

      Hi Jono!
Don't listen to Oz! He's just a mean old man that likes to stir the pot!
      I know you're reading this Oz ;-)
Yes, after losing some planes to "Running Out Of Talent" or doing something stupid like flying right across the Sun, I decided to put some parachutes on these planes ;-)
Since it's Windy here most of the time I want to test out the dynamic mode and maybe that will allow me to fly when I normally wouldn't.
Having a gyro in the plane will allow me to push the plane harder than I normally would and that going to be fun ;-)

Love flying those micro planes but find it very difficult in manual mode but keep banging away at it 400MM Trojan T-28 is my favourite go to learning manual mode love that little thing
And dont beat yourself up on your landings mate that’s a tough, and rough looking landing spot you have there im sure most of us fly from nice and reasonable flat grassy areas to fly

Man, why you hoggin' all the blue sky? ;-) I think the weather is suppose to be lightening up after the weekend. Fingers crossed.
The gyro seems to be doing what it is intended for, though it's hard to believe a powered glider even needs one. They are so passively stable. Admittedly the Ranger has a high lift to weight ratio and is pretty fast for a powered glider.
    Happy flying!

    • @GroundControlRC
      @GroundControlRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yeah! We finally got some blue skies in the supposedly "Sunny Southwest" ;-)
The "Sunny Southwest" is another "Old Wives Tale" unless they only meant Phoenix.
I agree, I don't think the vast majority of planes need one, but like I stated, I've watched a couple of reviewers that won't fly a plane without one ;-)
I think they're great for specific reasons and I like having one as a parachute but you have to demonstrate it works.
Seriously, didn't that gyro make my landing oh so sweet ;-)
Maybe I should use one all the time ;-)

If you were me you’d want them in every plane, the reality is that I never took this hobby up with any seriousness until 3 years ago, I’m now coming up to 78 so all the help that I can get is great and actually I like messing around with the technology it keeps me I won’t say young but at least younger. 😎😂😂

      @@michaelwheatland4565 Hi Michael!
I'm 59 and I hope that I can still participate in this Hobby when I'm 78.
How great would that be ;-)
I was late to the Hobby and have only been participating in it for approx. 6 years.
I just worked too much to have a Hobby.
I do think it keeps you younger, mind sharp, and reflexes much better.
I also like to keep in close contact with my Inner Child...that also keeps you younger ;-)
I definitely want them in every plane, if for no other reason than to save the plane when I run out of talent...hehehe.
I will slowly increase my inventory of these Gyros when my budget permits.
In the long run it's much cheaper than replacing a plane ;-)

Can this work with a DSMX receiver? If so, can you suggest one that I could check out. I am used to serial receivers in quads, but haven't used anything like this on a plane. Thx.

    • @GroundControlRC
      @GroundControlRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi CC!
Yes, it should work as long as the receiver supports SBUS/PPM.
The only DSM2/DSMX SBUS/PPM Receiver I've used with this they don't make anymore.
I was going to pickup a couple more.
I don't usually need an SBUS/PPM Receiver in my planes as I've never installed a Gyro or Flight Controller in one so I was lucky I had (1) in my parts bin ;-)
The one I used is the DS801 Receiver.
That's why I used the WFly RF201S in this plane.
I really like the LemonRX Receivers but couldn't really find an SBUS version.
      Can you only use DSMX?
I found this one but I've not tested it.
