I sometimes remove the box with bars when on holiday, eg. When we are in Paris parking, but the box is more stable when the bars are fitted on this and other vehicles, also depends on the radio antenna too, I sometimes position the bars differently due to the weight/distribution in the box as well. But like I say once you've done it a handful of times you will have your own style how you position them.
@@M3lionsinformationBOOTH thank you. I may just fit the bars loose then fit the box then tighten the bars properly after. Then mark where the bars sit for next time. 👍🏻
I've got a kit including 775 feet. They were originally bought for a Skoda Yeti. I never actually took them out of the box so they are unused. That was nearly 8 years ago. I have recently changed my Yeti for a 2022 Skoda Karoq. Will I need to change the feet? Will the &&5 feet fit the Karoq? On the box, it says that they are "universal". How universal are they? I need to know because if I haven't got to sell the feet and I can still use them then what's the point in changing them.
Don't buy anymore, I'm looking at a karoq / seat ateca or tiguan, they all are the same car under the body work and the bars and foot pack will fit and they are universal. As long as you have roof bars they will fit, sometime you might need longer bars if it's a pick up or van.
@@M3lionsinformationBOOTH I took one out of the unopened pack later today and checked. I should have done it in the first place really. It doesn't fit. You could probably make it fit but it wouldn't be good. I think the one I need is possibly the 710410 kit.
Hi, An update! I've had an email from Thule Support. This is what they are saying: "Thank you for your mail. The 775 was never recommended for a Skoda Karoq. Instead, a foot pack called 757 was recommended. You need a foot pack called 710410 Raised rail evo. Your bars need to be 127 cm in length". The Karoq rails are significantly different from the Yeti which is why I have been making all these queries. I am assuming at the moment that my bars will fit the foot pack, but the part numbers have also changed for those. I have since asked the question. My Wing Bars are 969 and the Square Bars are 853-2341-07. The part numbers on new bars are 711300 and 7123 respectively. No problems with the length. My bars are 127cm and 120cm respectively.
@@Barney29508 why wouldn't it fit?? It should did you release the strap, when they come in the box the straps are tight and need releasing with the Allen key tool, sorry if I'm telling you how to suck eggs, or Instagram me @m3lionsinformationbooth
I have for both cars the standard square bars, and I will buy again, the square bars can handle the most weight. The bars on there own make noise at 60 but when I have the roof box on the noise goes, so I see no point in the aerodynamic bars, because as soon as you put the roof box on it will make no difference. Also if you use any of the bike racks you will get wind noise from the rack and bike. I hope this helps, if not message me on Instagram at @m3lionsinformationbooth
For fitting a roof box would it be easier to fit them to the roof box first so Iv got the correct distance apart? Thanks

@@M3lionsinformationBOOTH Just out of interest, let me know how you get on. I haven't sold mine yet although I had a vague offer last night.

Which bars would you say makes the least noise? Thank you in advance

The aero ones will be less noise if you run them on the car all the time, without anything else
@@M3lionsinformationBOOTH thanks. I think the square bars will do the job for me. I need the strength.
How far apart should the bars be?
