I have 4 large bottles of Le Labo-Santal 33, Ambrette 9, Another 13, Thé Noir. All worth it. Everyone has a chemistry and while I appreciate reviews, nothing beats going to the store and trying it yourself and then sitting with it a few days. My ultimate favorite is Santal 33 and I don’t smell pickle juice at all. I got a sampler from Nordstrom and couldn’t live without it.

I fell in love with this scent on someone else from meters away, bought it immediately, couldn’t smell it on my skin at all, but people around me gave me compliments. They claim that they can smell it before I enter the room, in a good way:) After using it three months, I can smell it in my closet, and when I open the bottle cap, also in my office. It is such an elegant and pleasant scent to smell😊

Your Noir 29 review was surprising to me because I find that the performance is the best I've ever encountered. The smell lasts on my skin for 10+ hours, my clothes into the next day and actually lasted (accidentally) on a rope bracelet I wore for 24+ hours and through a swim and a shower... and it is easily my most complimented fragrance.

One seriously underrated Le Labo is MUSC 25. My wife and I went to the LA store recently to check out some of the other scents and we both unexpectedly fell in love with MUSC 25. She found it incredibly sexy. The name made me think it would be a super pungent, animalic, dark fragrance but it’s actually very subtle, light, and beautiful

Patchouli 24 is one of most underrated scents I've met, there's no other with a (really) similar profile to that. Despite the name patchouli is noticeable mostly only in first phases, then - I agree - birch with styrax takes the lead. I tend to like masculine, darker, captivating scents and P24 amongst Smoke Akro, Montecristo Masque Milano, Le Lion Chanel and Oud Seven Matiere Premiere are still one of my favourites. I also agree it's not easy to wear, can be polaryzing but after smelling almost 700 different niche offerings I can say it's really unique and worth trying, if you're a fan of darker, mystical scents. ;)
Closest to P24 would be Hortus Sanitatis Gucci but it's easier to wear and not that heavy (which some of you may like more).

I'm surprised by your review by The Noir 29 because this was the one that worked the best on my skin and was meh when spritzed on paper. I loved the masculine/unisex vibe of it as I'm not someone who leans toward feminine or safe scents much even tho I'm female. My other two top picks from Le Labo would be from their City Exclusives - Benjoin 19 (preferred this to Musc 25) and Aldehyde 44 (surprising for me as I don't usually go for fresh and clean scents) after sampling everything in that collection. I also loved Cuir 28 as one of the better Oud scents I've tried (I find Oud scents very hard to perfect and fall in love with), and Tubereuse 40. Gaiac 10 on the other hand, it needed time to settle in before I could appreciate it fully. In terms of Another 13, I preferred Diptyque's L'Eau Papier because Another 13 kinda felt more synthetic to me whereas L'Eau Papier was more fresh and natural.

Patchouli 24 is an absolutely fantastic scent. There is no patchouli at all pretty much. And thank god for that. It’s about birch tar and smoky vanilla and thankfully it’s linear where tar and vanilla are sort of of fighting with each other over the course. Longevity is great and very noticeable trail.

    I love another 13 and ylang 49
Jasmine has a great opening, but doesn’t last.
Labdanum is musc ravageur with a slight twist (nice, but no need if you have the fm).
Bergamot is nice, but doesn’t last on me, but lasts all day on a girl I know.
I don’t like santal, but can see how some love it as it’s unique.
Patchouli is a smoke bomb that I don’t understand.
Tonka goes funky on my skin.
The city exclusives are expensive (but I guess that’s relative).
    Tuberose is summer fun.
Tabac is an awesome fresh tobacco.
    Guiac is Japan style perfected.
    Musc is worth a try.

It’s a good thing you couldn’t find Oud27. If the fragrance could be an image, it would be that of a dirty tunnel that is frequently used by people to defecate in. I don't find the sillage of any of the Le Labo fragrances very good, but I just happen to really love that line anyway, but, that's me. I could never understand the total love everybody has over Creed Aventus, I think it's brutal because it can clear a room it's so overpowering yet people just love it and I'll always wonder why I don't feel that way at all. Perfume is so personal, we can't all love the same thing or it would be a dull world. I'm very happy with the Le Labo line and will continue with it because I think their fragrances are very unique. I know, that we both like animalic qualities of musks in perfumery, Omar, but Oud 27 is not worth trying. This is not well blended and the olfactive profile is horribly fecal smelling. Definitely opposite thing to the mass appeal. Absolutely agree about Vetiver 46. And I think people, who love Neroli should definitely put their noses to Nio by Xerjoff. Gorgeous natural perfumery where neroli naturals and bergamot raw materials are blended so beautifully. Very elegant.
Regarding bergamot natural olfactive profiles, definitely Bergamotto di Calabria EDT by Acqua Di Parma is my recommendation instead of Le Labo offerings. Surprisingly, I quite liked Patchouli 24 by this brand, this is a very big exception together with Vetiver 46.\

@SchoolofScent hey! Love the content. I've enjoyed the LYS41, Bergamote, vetvier, and santal33. I'm about half way through the sampler. My wife loved the LYS on me this weekend, asked which one it was, and subsequently stole the sampler, haha. Looks like we may have to get that one and share it, although I'm interested to smell the one you compared it to.

Great video! I appreciated the time stamps. I ordered the sample set and I am glad I did because many of them were stinkers. However, I fell madly in love with Rose 31 followed by Another 13, Bergamot, and Labdamun. Ambrette is also nice, but it’s weak. Thank you again for your thorough review! 🎉

I'm surprised you didn't rate the performance for alot of these as they are some of the most godlike performers I've tried. Also yes the blend is simple, this is because they train all their staff to be able to make the scents in store on demand Infront of the customers. You are paying more for that detail so it's definitely not for everyone.
