As good as most of the Replica line-up is, they will never eclipse or recapture the pure magic that was their 2010 limited edition. "Fart On The Escalator: Dublin 1984" was such a keen and arresting combination of animalic and green notes that I found it breath-taking.
Whispers in the library is probably my favourite from the line. It doesn't wow you at first but with enough time you appreciate how good of vanilla/Woody fragrance it is, not cloying sweet! Good performance of my skin as well.
Whispers in the Library ❤ I saw this at Nordstrom, sprayed the tester on a strip and then IMMEDIATELY on skin. It was a pleasant surprise, instant love. I asked to purchase it and they told me that they didn't have any in stock, and that it was either discontinued or Nordstrom was choosing not to carry it anymore 😢 I think the SA could see the disappointed sad look on my face and took pity on me, I should also add that I was picking up a 125ml of Herod and a 50 of TdH Eau Intense Vetiver and sampled a million different scents 😊, she asked me to wait for a moment. She returned with her manager, she greeted me very kindly and told me that since they are no longer selling Whispers in the Library that they should not have had the tester on display and apologized for the mistake. Then, to my surprise, she gave me the tester. About 85%-90% full tester of Whispers in the Library 😮. I couldn't believe that she did that, what a great trip to Nordstrom that turned into. They gained a customer for life 😊
I got whispers in the library for Christmas and I absolutely love it, I definitely agree that it's kind of haunting. I couldn't stop smelling my wrist after I sprayed it on. It's just sad that it's so expensive
You don’t miss much. It smells great, but zero long lasting power or projection. 1st Masion Margella Replica fragrance I’ve ever bought years ago. Still have it. Half full. Disappointment. Thought it would be a replacement for my only favorite fragrance: Jean Paul Gaultier 2 which got me into fragrances in the 1st place😭😭😭 But discontinued back in 2019, when I was gonna buy a new 100 ml bottle.
I've been obsessed with Lazy Sunday Morning ever since I was a kid, and finally I was able to buy it and make it my signature scent. It's definitely not for everyone, the scent is indeed clean and has a nostalgic feel. To me it smells like a bouquet of black roses in a crystal box, placed in a room with white walls. It's elegant and refined, while at the same time unapproachable, but not in a negative way. Just like a rose it's mysterious and alluring, but at the same time it has thorns. It's quite difficult to describe, but I really recommend smelling it if you ever have the chance.
Sailing Day is by far one of the best aquatics going around. Amazing scent I cannot get enough of, so alluring. There is not many so called aquatics that remind me of the ocean, but this one definately does, and does it well.
I could never put words around exactly what I didn’t like about the Replica fragrances but you’ve hit the nail on the head- they are ‘synthetic’ smelling.
I have pretty much them all… they should be tried on skin in my opinion - some of the more synthetic ones are great on your skin but really synthetic in the bottle
@@rocko430 some houses use notes that smell closer to the note it is trying to convey. Florals as an easy example. Some will be as if you are actually smelling that flower. Some will smell cheap and as if it was definitely created in a lab type of thing and is only part way toward it. You can apply the same principle to any note: leather, tobacco, vanilla, oud, rose etc Hope that makes sense

The Replica line was the only higher end fragrance line I could get my gf into. She’s not into most women’s perfumes so the unisex nature of the line was appealing. Her signatures are Under the Lemon Tree and Coffee Break and man do they radiate off her skin. She just got Beach Walk and that one is becoming a great summer scent for her already. I know the brand isn’t for everyone but I have a soft spot for it because she loves it and it’s our only connection to the world of fragrances. Also this series is amazing Omar keep doing these!
My top three from MM Replica are: - Coffee break, even though I usually can’t stand lavender I absolutely adore it in combination with coffe - By the fireplace, especially in winter with a cozy sweater on (I notice people around don’t usually like it tho) - Matcha meditation, it’s good all year round honestly
I was with a friend trying some of these at sephora and she loved by the fireplace. I sourced her a partial for $75 and she bought it immediately. How strong is the coffee in coffee break? Have you ever smelled halloween man x?
@@AlexSchwartzATV coffee break lover here: on me it smells like a very good lavender latte - primarily coffee with a very nice undertone of flowery freshness. All in all, “warm”, it has a distinct smell but recognises as mild when you are wearing it. All in all, it’s literally “sweater weather” aesthetic bottled up
I've started applying By the Fireplace more often these days as the weather is getting colder I loved the scent on me. I'm surprised others don't like it. It's not a conventional fragrance but it's so sweet. Has gingerbread vibes
Whenever I wear by the fireplace at least one person asks me what perfume I’m wearing because they love the smell. It also became one of my favorite perfumes. I only like by the fireplace, all the other ones smell preety bad in my opinion
Beach Walk is my go-to in the summer. It’s currently winter in Canada and sometimes I spray and smell the bottle of beach walk to remember the summer memories: tennis, climbing up the mountain, relaxing by the beach… The best.
My boyfriend and I use autumn vibes and we love it! I had purchased myself a bottle and something else for him, but when he smelled the Margiela, he had to go pick himself up one a couple of days later!
Coffee break is my daily scent in Autumn, I honestly was so existed last Monday when it finally started raining after that wretched hot & dry summer here in Belgium and I could spray it on for the first time. Almost a ritualistic experience lol
I lived in Belgium for 3 years and it’s the only place where I am horrified when the rain starts, because it does not stop until like April. Autumn and Winter in Belgium felt like a two season long cold shower.
I adore Jazz Club. Don't have it but It's hands down on the to buy list. It's 100% my favorite. I've head at the barbers is the best barber shop fragrance but i don't like barber shop smells. Jazz Club was literally the first fragrance i settled on getting when i decided to get back intro fragrances. I only haven't gotten it because it's summer, i'm not going out at the moment, slim chance it gets discontinued so i've got plenty of time to buy it, plus other things that could get discontinued went on sale so i got those first. And also, if i find something i want that's commonly out of stock in stock i'm grabbing it on sale before Jazz club simply because i know there's time.

Matcha meditation is my favourite perfume, its sweet but not in a sickly way and smells sophisticated and feminine. I also have under the lemon trees, it is a nice scent but does not last over an hour or so.
When you look into john gallianos design ethos at margelia, it focuses on the "memory" of clothes and explores that through a lot of deconstruction and i think the fact that the fragrance line heavily reflects that is really cool and something you dont see in a lot of fragrances by designers
I would totaly agree on this, some clothes from Margiela can look really cool but are really hard to wear with style. It is the same with the fragrance, if you can pull them off, they are right for you.
music festival is such an interesting fragrance. When you look at reviews or ask friends etc. it seems like people perceive it COMPLETELY differently. On my skin I don't get ANY cannabis note at all and I know the smell of cannabis very well. It's a chocolately, sweet but also smoky patchoulli scent to me. Very creative and nice imo. Reading reviews on this frag is very funny to me. So many completely different takes and experiences.
I liked the idea of this video, but I wish you would speak more about the notes you smell in addition to your overall impressions. How the fragrance changes over time from the top notes to the base notes would also be more helpful than just telling us about longevity.
Ordered a sample of " By the fireplace" and own a bottle of "Jazz Club". The latter is amazing. If they could do an intense version or EDP, I'll definitely buy it. Amazing stuff
Jazz club has been my go to since forever and never disappoints. Even got the jazz club refill that’s new. Always get compliments from everyone who comes near me or even just passes by. Yes they’re expensive but amazing.
I got some samples and I was really excited about trying out By the fireplace (and i really liked it) but I ended up using Matcha Meditation way more often than any other sample, I do usually drink Matcha tea so i might be a little biased but love how realistic it smells and the white chocolate note in the dry down. Sad that you didn't liked it that much though
I have been trying to get into perfumery and I like scents with a lot of ‘personality’ so to speak. You’ve been helping me a lot with seeking out smells I’ve never even considered before and I can’t thank you enough actually 😭
I blind bought autumn vibes and bought by the fireplace based off a few TH-camrs I watched liking it and wanting a sweet but not cloying scent. Def love both. Autumn vibes surprised me, super piney and fresh not my usual scent but love it
I’m a long time fan of Margiela (the clothing line) and have now gone through 2 bottles of By the Fireplace. I’ve tried a few of the others (Lazy Sunday Morning, At the Barbers and Jazz Club) but none were quite as good as Fireplace. Recommend entirely! Great video
@@funnycomplications4582 it does not smell like old people, however I’m not sure if a 15 year old would enjoy it either. It’s definitely worth getting your nose on it. I love it, but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
scents I want to try after watching this video: Music Festival Matcha Meditation Autumn Vibes Lazy sunday morning I've smelt by the fireplace and its a bit too sweet for my liking and I already own Jazz club because thats what everyone talks about when they mention the replica line.
the one i have in my collection is by the fireplace, and i always look forward to wearing whenever sweater weather comes around. this one a sweater, on a scarf its just so cozy, and attractive, the initial blast of smokiness really mellows out quite fast and turns into a very pleasant blend of sweet, deep a little smoky scent. i think by the fireplace and jazz club are definitely two of their gems, where jazz club is just too boozy for my personal tastes but both are amazing. i dont like very light flowery scents or laundry ones so i dont care for a lot of the other ones in this line, but i heard 'after the rain' is nice and is one i have yet to try. matcha meditation is also worth a mention as i love matcha n sweet but i just havent bought it yet, it fades a bit too fast for it to be an easy buy for me, despite the scent itself being nice.
i really like matcha meditation because in my crazy little head its the perfect gourmand, sweet-but-not-cloying unisex fragrance. just wish it lasted longer and threw further
I very much appreciate your "house-wide" review. I've been enthusiastic about Maison Margiela as I like very much most of the few I've smelled and I feel they give me an advantage because their names are quite on the nose, so to speak. Thank you for the guidance you have provided for my curiosity.
Martin Margiela (born 1957 in Belgium) is widely regarded as one of the most influential fashion designers ever. His core work focused on artisanal deconstruction, although nowadays his brand does mostly creatively simple, high quality clothing suitable for everyday wear, remaining avant-garde yet understated.
Totally agree with Jazz Club. It’s amazing, tons of compliments on it. Agree again with the drawback, doesn’t last long at all. For me, maybe 2-3 hours max. Good date night frag for sure.
i went to the store few weeks ago and i can't help it to smell it all! not gonna lie i love them all so unique, beautiful, not cheap-like fragrance and soft great for every day wear for sure✨🥰 i ended up getting matcha meditation!
I have tried Jazz Club, Sailing Day, Autumn Vibes, Sunday Morning and Fireplace. I like Jazz Club the best easily. But they’re all just too expensive for what they are considering they are really only wearable for certain situations. They smell like cartoons. I did get a compliment when wearing BTF though so there’s that.
If you do want a book smell then try Montblanc patchouli ink. The opening note is very sweet but after the dry down you really smell an old library. It's one of my favorite scents
im so sad flowermarket needs its spotlight! idc what they say but its the best floral scents to ever exist TT its so girly, flirty but innocent yet seductive
Thanks for an entertaining video. I have tried most fragrances by Maison Margiela. I experience them as fantasies. Just like their name. For me, they are more than designer fragrances. I really like a lot of them. I´ve Under the Lemon Tree in my collection and have used it quite a few times. I have grown up with it, and now I do think it is a fantastic and a different scent from many other Summer scents. With 2 sprays on me, it smells easily 7-8 hours on me. 9 out of 10 stars. Thank you.
I love bubble bath. I think it smells really “screechy” when applied but when dry I think it’s so perfect. I’ve gotten compliments when wearing it too, more so than other fragrances I’ve worn.
Me personally based on my experience By the fireplace and Jazz Club are hands down the best fragrances especially if you’re aiming to grab the rooms attention! 10/10
I've bought the sample set, too. Most of them I don't like. The fresh scents are too flowery. Jazz Club smells almost like coconut which I don't like. By the fireplace smells like a bonfire. Who wants to smell like that? I like Whispers in the library. A smooth seductive scent, which has nothing to do with a library. But I don't purchased it until now. Too expensive for what it is.
I've only smelled like 5 of them as of now but so far, Coffee break is my favorite. Probably because i do like Lavender in my fragrances and i like the slight sweetness in it as well.
The only one I tried which I got a decant of was jazz club and it’s easily one of my favorite scent profiles especially date night, in cooler weather. Great opening and dry down. Wish it lasted longer but when it does last you will enjoy every minute. My brother even gave me a compliment and he’s very hard to please when it comes to colognes.
I previously owned Across Sands but then sold it because I could not see myself finishing a 100mL. It is more of a special occasion scent for me. Sometimes I regret letting go of Across Sands, but I often desire a 30 mL bottle instead.
@@alexanderloughran2716 it’s my favorite, I believe it’s discontinued. It has spices and warm oud. If I had to describe it as a Replica experience, feels like walking into a magic shop filled with oil fragrances in the middle of the desert.
I've tried By the Fireplace a couple of times. I found it just didn't do much on my skin, very wispy then gone. Closeish for very cheap is Lattafa Raghba Wood Intense which is smokier but performs pretty well. Mancera's Aoud Cafe, definitely gives me similar vibes, but has a lot more liquorice and coffee, performs the best of the three by far though.
Ive got a full bottle of fireplace and honestly on my skin it is so smoky and very strong. It is a very linear scent though, like its just burning wood for a good hour and then dries down to warm vanilla. It’s very hard to wear anywhere because its such an exclusively cold weather fragrance I probably use it more as a mood setting room spray than an actual fragrance
Wow when I first tried jazz club I thought it was disgusting. I fished out my sample because of this video and it’s a little better than I remember but still not something I’d want to smell like.
I got a full bottle of Under The Lemon Trees for my daughter, she said a she feels like she is drinking lemonade under a tree, my favorite is Jazz Club.
For some reason, Jazz Club is an absolute atomic bomb of a fragrance on me. It's smokier and more agressive on my skin, but people tend to like it a lot. They can easily notice it across a wide table in a crowded bar.
Bubble bath smelled very nice on my skin. I’ve read that it’s more for ladies but it didn’t smell too feminine. But, I didn’t buy a full bottle because it barely lasted 4 hours on my skin :/
im currently owning 6 fragrances and they are all my favorite. :) Lazy Sunday Morning, Jazz Club, By the Fireplace, When the Rain Stops, Beach Walk and my latest is Matcha Meditation.
I have only smelled Jazz Club, but my god. On our first date my boyfriend wore it and I ended up jumping on him to kiss him and told him how amazing he smelled, like a Lynx advert. 😂 I am very curious about Beach Walk and Music Festival, I would love a fragrance that could transport me to those places. But really I want to try all of them.
I bought the sample set too and I’m considering a full bottle of Autumn Vibes or By the fireplace. Sadly they don’t make 50ml bottles, only 100ml which is too much for what I’m going to use it for and 30ml which is too small.
I find that Jazz club has the best scent profile of all fragrances I've come across. I do find the performance to be a bit of an issue. It projects massively on application (Not what I would like). Then the longevity is not great. Worth considering based on the fact that it smells so good. Maybe you'll find the performance ok.

& beach day are gems. lazy sunday morning is v nice too
I’m a long time fan of Margiela (the clothing line) and have now gone through 2 bottles of By the Fireplace. I’ve tried a few of the others (Lazy Sunday Morning, At the Barbers and Jazz Club) but none were quite as good as Fireplace. Recommend entirely! Great video
you think its good for a 15 year old? or does it smell like old people?
@@funnycomplications4582 it does not smell like old people, however I’m not sure if a 15 year old would enjoy it either. It’s definitely worth getting your nose on it. I love it, but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
coffee break and autumn vibes are my favorites from this house
The best video intro I’ve seen in a fragrance review hands down🤣🤣🤣
scents I want to try after watching this video:
Music Festival
Matcha Meditation
Autumn Vibes
Lazy sunday morning
I've smelt by the fireplace and its a bit too sweet for my liking and I already own Jazz club because thats what everyone talks about when they mention the replica line.
the one i have in my collection is by the fireplace, and i always look forward to wearing whenever sweater weather comes around. this one a sweater, on a scarf its just so cozy, and attractive, the initial blast of smokiness really mellows out quite fast and turns into a very pleasant blend of sweet, deep a little smoky scent. i think by the fireplace and jazz club are definitely two of their gems, where jazz club is just too boozy for my personal tastes but both are amazing. i dont like very light flowery scents or laundry ones so i dont care for a lot of the other ones in this line, but i heard 'after the rain' is nice and is one i have yet to try. matcha meditation is also worth a mention as i love matcha n sweet but i just havent bought it yet, it fades a bit too fast for it to be an easy buy for me, despite the scent itself being nice.
i really like matcha meditation because in my crazy little head its the perfect gourmand, sweet-but-not-cloying unisex fragrance. just wish it lasted longer and threw further
I love Sailing Day I don’t think it gets enough love in the line up
People say it’s the best aquatic scent
Totally agree with Jazz Club. It’s amazing, tons of compliments on it. Agree again with the drawback, doesn’t last long at all. For me, maybe 2-3 hours max. Good date night frag for sure.
I have the Jazz Club and it kinda unique. Very interesting to the Lazy Sunday Morning.
i went to the store few weeks ago and i can't help it to smell it all! not gonna lie i love them all so unique, beautiful, not cheap-like fragrance and soft great for every day wear for sure✨🥰 i ended up getting matcha meditation!
i absolutely love coffee break lol i've yet to buy it but i'm glad to see you've given it a seal of approval
when the rain stops is AMAZING
L
Flowermarket smells too similar to jo malone
Jazz Club is phenomenal. One of my signatures
I didn’t know Jazz Club was that popular but it makes sense now because it’s always sold out
Me personally based on my experience By the fireplace and Jazz Club are hands down the best fragrances especially if you’re aiming to grab the rooms attention! 10/10
They have now replica on a date and I bought 2 bottles because it is just stunning mix between rose and grapes . It is beautiful
Music Festival is my absolute favorite!
I'm not a fan of Jazz Club or Coffee Break at all, but I adore By The Fireplace, which I own.
Jazz club is whack.
My girlfriend HATES By the Fireplace. It smells super realistic. I like it. She LOVES Jazz Club I need a bottle of that.
I always had a sweet spot for REPLICA. By the Fireplace is my favorite!
By the fireplace, jazz club, and autumn vibes are my favorite from the line. I absolutely love autumn vibes.
I’ve had a bottle of ‘by the fireside’ since 2020 I rarely wear it, but it’s the most amazing room scent.
Definitely does help narrow down which ones to buy as a big and small bottle absolutely 💯
0:11 looks close enough
Been saving up for by the fireplace for a while and getting it in a week or so! So excited :))
Nice! 😁
It is definitely worth it, I have had it for a while now and I'm addicted to the smell
@@jesse2215 yeah.. everything,r i go past John Lewis I spray it on my skin and am addicted to smelling it it’s gonna be my signature
I just bought it this week, love it!
@@cole4249 is it a fall fragrance?
Just bought a 100 ml bottle of Jazz Club, and it's just as your review, the best of MMM perfumes...
I've only smelled like 5 of them as of now but so far, Coffee break is my favorite. Probably because i do like Lavender in my fragrances and i like the slight sweetness in it as well.
Definitely try Mancera Amore Caffe. 🙂
@@SchoolOfScent Thanks for the recommendation. I'll definitely try and get my nose on it.
I bought Sailing Day because it had the same name as one of my favorite Bump of Chicken songs
Now it's my signature scent 😅
Yup, love Jazz Club..my #1 ......wish there was an oil version for longevity...
What was across sands like? I’ve seen the other replica line of fragrances it’s a part of online but never been able to try any of them
@@alexanderloughran2716 it’s my favorite, I believe it’s discontinued. It has spices and warm oud. If I had to describe it as a Replica experience, feels like walking into a magic shop filled with oil fragrances in the middle of the desert.
Sharing memories and emotions through scents it a amazing idea
Exactly, I would get the jazz club if there’s less of that tobacco smell, So after a few times of comparison I get the by the fireplace
Omars production quality is miles ahead of the rest of fragrance TH-cam
Erm no. Check Senthil Cologne. Literally 10x better. Maybe more.
@@heavenscent1614 but Senthil is rather new and hasn't posted in months 🤷🏻♂
I agree that Jazz Club is the best! It's truly a masterpiece. I'm sad that they discontinued dancing on the moon, that one was intriguing too.
Now that’s an interesting name!
I love the way he describes fragrances!
Your bubble bath description was spot on!
I agree that by the fireplace does smell like stronger with you. Now jazz club I find is amazing
Best from the brand is by the fireplace i just fell in love at first spray
ngl "when the rain stops" was one of the reasons I looked at this video lol but its ok still an amazing video.
Great video. I have seen this line on display so many times and have never committed to trying it so thank you for doing the work for us Omar!
I got a full bottle of Under The Lemon Trees for my daughter, she said a she feels like she is drinking lemonade under a tree, my favorite is Jazz Club.
Etat libre d'orange do a big sample box as well, just got mine today. Has like 20 samples in it and a little book explaining all of them.
i'm curious about: secretions magnifiques 😂
For some reason, Jazz Club is an absolute atomic bomb of a fragrance on me. It's smokier and more agressive on my skin, but people tend to like it a lot. They can easily notice it across a wide table in a crowded bar.
Can you review that Tyler the creator fragrance French waltz?
I have & recommend At the Barbers and By the Fireplace. Under the Lemon Trees and Jazz Club are excellent as well.
Bubble bath smelled very nice on my skin. I’ve read that it’s more for ladies but it didn’t smell too feminine. But, I didn’t buy a full bottle because it barely lasted 4 hours on my skin :/
the best replica fragrance is Hijacked: 2001 NY. an amazing mix of metallic and smoky notes that intrigues the mind.
im currently owning 6 fragrances and they are all my favorite. :) Lazy Sunday Morning, Jazz Club, By the Fireplace, When the Rain Stops, Beach Walk and my latest is Matcha Meditation.
Late to the game, but which would you say is more masculine between when the rain stops and lazy Sunday morning?
I have only smelled Jazz Club, but my god. On our first date my boyfriend wore it and I ended up jumping on him to kiss him and told him how amazing he smelled, like a Lynx advert. 😂
I am very curious about Beach Walk and Music Festival, I would love a fragrance that could transport me to those places. But really I want to try all of them.
Beach walk literally smells like your walking on a beach but you have lots of sunscreen on
I bought the sample set too and I’m considering a full bottle of Autumn Vibes or By the fireplace. Sadly they don’t make 50ml bottles, only 100ml which is too much for what I’m going to use it for and 30ml which is too small.
U should check out dossier. They have an affordable, accurate, dupe for by the fireplace
Jazz club is one of the best fragrances of all time.
I use Jazz Club Fragrance and Under the Stars
Try the untitled line. There's only two products but still my fav.
I've been curious about Jazz Club, put also heard performance is kinda meh. Still on the fence. Great review though, much appreciated 👏
I find that Jazz club has the best scent profile of all fragrances I've come across. I do find the performance to be a bit of an issue. It projects massively on application (Not what I would like). Then the longevity is not great. Worth considering based on the fact that it smells so good. Maybe you'll find the performance ok.
You're really missing out if you haven't got When the Rain Stops! It's STUNNING. It's classic, but also incredibly modern.
need to try it
