By far the most classy house. Chanel never had a bad release. Chanel is just next level.
I’m a perfumer and I must admit, my favourite house is Chanel as well. Followed secondly by Guerlain & Hermès.

Platinum Egoiste is so underrated. Not enough people talk about it. I started wearing it in my early 20s, despite its mature vibe, and received quite a few genuine compliments.
From men or women?
It's an older style of fragrance, so it's not geared for the younger demo which sort of dominate this space. Fresh or super sweet is what everyone wants. Most of these "boozy" fragrances don't really smell like liquor.
Timeless, if I could only have one this would be it.
How does it compare to Drakkar Noir?
Chanel Allure Edition Blanche is an absolute masterpiece.

Really nice scent, but dies basically instantly on my skin and has virtually no sillage. Probably not buying it a second time.
The first time I ever wore allure homme sport eau extreme, I got five compliments within an hour of sitting in my local bar. Two couples asked me what it was I was wearing as the guys wanted to buy some, while my date told me my fragrance was gorgeous.
Platinum Égoïste is my all time favorite fragrance. If you want to smell clean, elegant and confident, this is the real deal.
I’m 27, and it is the fragrance that has gotten me the most compliments.
Iam 42 and i wear it since i was 21 … its allways on top of compliments and versetality …
You can wear it in bars and to work… its a Masterpiece of well blending parfume : sexy, elegant, clean and unique

I smelled many Chanel fragrances at a well-stocked duty-free shop at Orlando International, and was so impressed by Egoïste that I decided to buy it. I’m 21 years old and I love to wear this scent every day. I am so surprised by how it can be strong, yet light, airy, and transparent at the same time.

I don't think that Platinum Egoiste is only for over 40s (I'm in 20s), i wear it even in clubbing situation (i know that's not typical fragrance for club), and many young chicks said that is a genius very manly and sexy scent, for me it's the best Chanel fragrance, and one of the best aromas in fresh category 😊

My dad used to have the original Allure Homme in the early 2000’s always used to sneak some and wear to school… loved that! My first personal Channel, was the original sport, also smelled it from my dad and I loved it, eventually bought myself a bottle, for $120 in a department store in 2012… wore the hell out of it, and man, just absolutely loved it. Got Edition Blanche as well, it is absolutely beautiful.

Antaeus I fell in love with last year. A true powerhouse. I feel like a boss wearing it. The same goes for Egoiste.

Allure Homme Sport COLOGNE is super underrated. I take it over the Edition Blanche because the citrus is more realistic and it's not creamy. Very versatile. 👍🏽

I have spent the whole spring, summer and part of the fall looking for a fragrance to wear in the hotter months of the year. I have tried multiple like Mont Blanc Explorer, JPG Le Male, DavidOff Coolwater, and Hugo BOSS Man and also smelling multiple other in the stores. But i havent really been able to find anything that made me feel satisfied and that actually gave of a smell that i found enjoyable. Earlier this month i tried out Egoiste Platinum from Chanel and instantly fell in love. I already have a fragrance for the autumn / winter (Maison Margiela Jazz Club) but the Platinum Egoiste is finally a scent which is more casual and i can use at work or university.
I read reviews that it might be very old fashion for some, but since im 20 years old i havent really smelled these old fragrance DNAs so i dont have that connection at all.
the original allure is top notch, ideal for the summer, bit cloggy maybe in hot weather ... but absolute classic, quite unique these days

Hmm…if this is the School of scent that would make you the professor…Professor Omar, I like that! Anyways wonderful work as per usual and I like that you had all the actual Bottles and not just the decants, it’s that extra detail that I really appreciate because it’s not something you have to do but it shows that you are willing to go the extra mile to provide good content for your audience!
This is a top tier series in the whole entirety of fragrance community and I don’t say that lightly, you have found a signature and it fits you perfectly, it has been a great pleasure watching you grow as a person and content creator.

Chanel Egoiste so underrated in my opinion 👍🏽 cinnamon, leather, rose, sandalwood dream one of my favs ever and I’m 24 😅 not many young guys like it

Awesome review/buying guide! I really like the depth and accuracy of your descriptions. Even though I recognize it would be pretty expensive, I would really enjoy if you could make an MFK buying guide/review. Except for BR540, some MFK bangers (masculin pluriel, Gentle fluidity silver) don't really get the attention they deserve here on YT and I'd really like to know your opinion on them.

Allure Homme Sport is the only fragrance that I’ve gone through 2 big bottles with. Smells great in the heat, is thick enough to perform in colder weather, and is like a magical potion for women. Luckily most people focus on the extreme version and leave the regular Sport for people like me 😎

@@CharinthipHarnthavornchai maybe older formulas from 2010 or so. Modern ones aren’t as potent so you’d want to reapply after 4 or 5 hours. If its hot out you may be good for longer. Most modern frags are ambroxan bombs which makes them powerful but is also why they all end up smelling very similar to each other.

Allure Homme my first fragrance ever, a masterpiece. Then bought Edition Blanche, that lemon pie... Soon after AHS eau extreme, the most different of the bunch, fresh and creamy. About a month ago i finally bought Bleu EdP and my god, it's perfection. I like all of them, i'll use all of them, they smell amazing, good longevity on my skin. If it were you, which seasons / occasions would you rotate them?

I wear the Chanel pour Monsieur and Egoiste (not platinum). Love them both for different reasons/occasions. The Monsieur reminds me of my dad and the Egoiste takes me back to my teens when I bought my second bottle ever (first being Oscar de la Renta which I also love to this day). Chanel allure homme edition blanche is a work of art. Definitely the most calming, most beautiful lemon scent that you can smell in your entire life. I bought a 150 ml bottle of it last year and would be buying another as soon as I ran out of it ❤

The platinum has been my go to since i was 15. First Chanel i picked up. One of two pumps does the job.
All in on BdC edp after having the edt for a while prior. I’ll be re-upping on the edp forever. Absolutely love it.
Recently made the switch to the EDP after trying out new scents... Profumo was my signature scent, but can't keep wearing something knowing it's been discontinued.
Pour Monsieur is my all-time fave from Chanel. However my preferred concentration is Concentree, which is discontinued. I love Platinum Egoiste. I would love to try Allure Extreme or Edition Blanche.
Chanel is by far and away my favorite non-niche house for fragrance.
Egoiste is my first expensive perfume, and it started my fragrance addiction 😆
From Chanel I have Bleu de Chanel EDP and Allure Home Sport Eau Extreme.
Bleu de Chanel is favorite fragrance.

@@alexprakash6656 lol when you do can you please tell them that Paris -Venise Les Eaux NEEDS to be a EDP and Parfum concentration. It's so amazing but the longevity is so poor obviously due to it being a l'eau formulation. I cant even recommend it despite the compliments because of the longevity. such a shame.

I agree but they seem to be very careful with what they release. Unlike most of the other brands, they don't seem to have had a release that didn't perform very well in the fragrance world. They stay classy and don't take part in shortening intervalls of releasing fragrances. So at least we can hope that, if they bring out sth new in the future, it's going to be an amazing scent.
The EDT has a special place in my heart. The scent, I will never get tired of. But the projection and longevity are absolutely abysmal.
Love the video, but did you have some compression issues with the audio? There's some light crackling on the audio track. Nothing serious but good to look into in the future. EDIT: Nvm. It was addressed down the line. Thumbs up for video though!
I would add that if you're deeply into fragrances, don't miss out on the ladies counterpart from Chanel. Used to work at a perfume store which had a Chanel corner included, so basically had the chance to test and wear most of them. I love all of Jacques Polge's creations, respectively his son's work too, but dwelling in Chanel's ladies mainstream line, I will pick Chanel Coco as my fav, and N19 as a close second, tho they are interchangable depending on the weather and the circumstances. Throughout my years collecting and testing fragrances, I've learned that you can hardly put a label on a perfume, especially if you treat it like a work of art.

Was at a Chanel boutique trying to decide between BdC EDP and BdC Parfum, since both were excellent. Ultimately had to go with Parfum, as it came across more polished and smooth!

Edp Is more wearable, the Parfum is dense and a bit more sophisticated. Doesn't feel like a casual everyday type of fragrances, doesn't feel appropriate for jeans and tee shirt. Edp can sort of work.
Edt is super casual
Edp can be business casual
Parfums is more formal
EDP is the KING

Chanel Allure Edition Blanche EDP was my favourite purchase from Chanel. I have BDC EDP gifted from my girlfriend which is amazing too but something about Allure Blanche has such a nice fresh creamy vibe to it

Great video, I always find your experience with Allure Homme Sport EE interesting, I tried it again at a duty free recently and I think it’s quite boring to be honest.
The current Egoiste version no longer smells as deeply woody and dark as the 90s version. I had a 2016 batch that smelled like the 90s version until recently. The current version smells fresher, lighter...but still woody.

I just wished Chanel would give us a parfum version of the Pour Monsieur and an EDP version for the egoiste and platinum.
Most consistent house! The only one I dislike is Edition Blanche. I can see why it's good perfumery but I associate any fragrance that is very lemony with cleaning products. All others are at least 8/10 to me.

Love the content you make (for us) Omar. Thanks a lot. As teenager I had Antheus as my signature scent. Then Egoïste was launched and that replaced Antheus for me as my daily. Funny enough, as a Chanel adept (and Kouros and Le Male hater then - early to mid 90s- I blind bought Allure when that was launched and although I purchased several new bottles after I finished one, Allure never had the impact of Antheus, let alone Egoïste for me. So I drifted away from Chanels men perfumes - still bought Coco for the lady!) and discovered there were other houses with great scents. Until a couple years ago I refused to buy Egoïste again. Afraid it would disapoint and destroy the beautiful memories, amongst these a big, big love afair.
Lately I picked Egoïste up again. The original (maybe reformulated but I can't tell, heck it was at least 20 years ago). It still has the wow factor for me. Beautiful scent. So I have to admit, your 7 was a bit of a shocker :-)

Bought a bottle of Antaeus back in the late 80s. A beast , castorium was the note back then. Has been reformulated since. It is close but side by side you do notice a difference. It will always be my favorite.

of the Allure line I like the OG the best tbh. I bought extreme and I do like it but there is something so special about the OG. Extreme is almost too smooth. I dont think performance is bad either, certainly much better than something like YSL L’homme
Bought the Allure Homme Sport for vacation and to try it out. I’ve been wearing BDC EDP and first day I wore the Allure Homme Sport to work I got more compliments than the BDC EDP. Definitely great addition to the rotation. Now I’m gonna try out the Blanche Edition on how it stands in Texas summer heat.

I think that it's amazing that from 1955 (Pour Monsieur Edt) to 2018 (Bleu de Chanel Parfum)....the house has produced less than 15 mens line fragrances......none of this yearly or twice yearly fragrance's like the other main stream. Credit to Jaques Polge who was the in house nose from 1978 until his son took over in 2017 and produced Bleu parfum. I have all of them and I appreciate the art of the older Antaeus, Egoiste and Pour Monsieur Edt all of which I love

Allure home sport is arguably the best fragrance ever made. It is the embodiment of a signature scent. It’s fresh, it’s masculine, it’s sophisticated, it’s the perfect fragrance for all occasions. But blue de channel edp comes very close if not beats it as it’s a more modern frag.

Allure is nice, egoiste platinum is great - hermes h24 is best. Ive found out i like clary sage for a clean floral that smells luxorious

Agree! I have Chanel Allure Edition Blanche EDP and it last more than 8 hours with just 2 sprays. With this, with Bleu de Chanel and with Dior Sauvage Elixir which is monstruos in projection I don’t need anything else. Maybe Dior Spice Blend which I have to buy soon.

I used to own BdC, but the grapefruit doesn't do well on my skin. Also I used to own Allure Homme Sport, which I thought was great, but not great enough to buy a new bottle.
I currently own Platinum Égoïste and Pour Monsieur EdT. Both are, in my opinion, the best the house gives us. Gourmand just isn't my thing and Antaeus I still have to try.
Indeed, the longevity of Pour Monsieur is not the best, but the scent makes it so much worth to own and I just re-apply during the day.
Platinum Égoïste is one of my signature designer scents and if I were to choose only one designer, PE would be the one I'd choose. Longevity on my skin is 10h+. Like you said; you don't have to go wild on the trigger to leave a nice scenttrail.
