Awesome video, what an unreal honor to be featured on this channel after so many years of watching it !! Definitely want to dig that color shifting thing and push it to the next level, thank you so much again for the DCF experience 🙏 (to everyone : you should definitely attend next one, sooooo much knowledge and new skills packed there !)
glad you dropped this video because I had solar color dust just sitting in for over 6 months because I couldn't get the UV colors right because I was doing the right ratios but it wasn't filling in when I got to my final six coat but now after watching this I'm about to bring them out the box and try again
I've worked with a bunch of these pigments in the past, but never applied them to my customs, mostly because the ChromeX line is 10 bucks a gram haha. Love how the oil slick looks!
First, thank you for always sharing your knowledge with these great videos!! Second, how would you use this with canvas?? Like, would the effect be just as good on a canvas sneaker as it is on a leather sneaker? Thank you!!
@@DeJesusCustomFootweartriple thermal dust - brown/mauve/green .... I did a pair of Reeboks with the gum sole. They go great with camo shorts. I also did the white panels with solar dust that goes from colorless to olive green. But everyone please note that the colorless still has a hue to it
@losinfinite Hi , im doing these for an upcoming gender reveal would love your insight . going to be using the solar changing powder , what mixture would you recommended for the airbrush? I saw someone use Angelus Neutral > Add color dust > then add Angelus 2 thin. In this video he didn’t use the 2 thin is this necessary? What process do you follow? I’m being trusted for this gender reveal & don’t wanna mess up your assistance will be greatly appreciated🫶🏼. Also I don’t own an airbrush was going to hand paint but i saw you said that doesn’t work well .. Will “ Preval - Sprayer from Home Depot “ work as a good airbrush ? on a budget but need these to be perfect. thanks for your help in advance !
Nope I actually just tested with the brush and it was so simple that I didn’t need to switch.. looks great after just one coat.. I’m sure there’d be no issues airbrushing it though
Yeah I think it’ll vary from pigment to pigment.. oil slick, kaleidoshift, chameleon all were super easy to apply with brush.. it might be all uv and thermo ones that are tricked and need to be airbrushed
I haven’t found the need to in the past but many people have told me they’ve struggled to spray the finisher. Could be a matter of airbrush/compressor/psi you’re running
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear it stays magenta and never go back white again so the colour that comes out in the sunlight stays forever .I dont know if there is a way to activate it New because after that I dont use it again but thinking about the thermal colour
@@Nichtzzzz that’s interesting man! I wonder if they can’t be outside for extended periods, would certainly defeat the point.. I didn’t have that issue as they turned back to white just minutes later for me
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear yes try it for some hours it stops changing after a few days or 2 weeks. I think that the summer sun is to aggressiv so we can try to use a uv protection cream or something🤣🤣

So I didn't see you put the matte top finish on.
Are you suppose to put a finisher on them. Will it peel if there is no finisher??
Loving all of them ❤❤

Thank you Gauthier! You did an amazing job

Ayyyy!! Bring em out bring em out!!
Awesome!! Been a minute..but your still on top of your game!!
This is Awesome. Been wanting to try this... Thanks
Man I can't wait to see what you do with these pigments in the future. Maybe a iridescent day of the dead custom?
Holy smokes, what an idea 🔥
❤❤❤....I'm gonna have to look into this, business is just gaining foot
you are one of the goats...i hope to see a dcf classic galaxy shoe with the oil slick paint in the future
Ayyy!! Thank you 🙏
awesome video as always, definitely need to try this colour shifting paint out for myself
You'll dig it brother!
Have you ever done the oil slick on white leather?
Nope everything I read suggested it be done on black
So this might be an obvious question but I’m assuming you’d want to hit this with a finisher of sorts right? Mainly curious about the oil slick paint.
Yes I opted for a satin finish rather than my usual matte. Still wanted them to have a tad bit of sheen.
I've worked with a bunch of these pigments in the past, but never applied them to my customs, mostly because the ChromeX line is 10 bucks a gram haha. Love how the oil slick looks!
Yea you would likely only get a couple pairs out of em! Cool stuff though to play around with
Love the video but do you think that you can do a video that shows each transition for each paint.
Yes definitely plan to do more with them!
Bro why my shoe custom peel off...
And wash off the colour I use angelus... Please help❤🙏
I've had a sample pack of 10 solar changing powders from that company for months, time to play around with them lol
Let’s goooo 🚀🚀
First, thank you for always sharing your knowledge with these great videos!! Second, how would you use this with canvas?? Like, would the effect be just as good on a canvas sneaker as it is on a leather sneaker? Thank you!!
Thank you Angie! Yes all of these would work just as well on canvas. Id probably recommend airbrushing in that case though
I use all those addictive often. I would recommend airbrushing. If anyone has any questions, let me know
hi , since i don"t have an airbrush , wich of those option are better for a simple brush ?
@@welor100 you can use paint brush but it will not be as smooth. It will work though.
That’s awesome man! Which one is your favorite ?

Banger video
Thanks fam!
I definitely need
Question,do you still use the adhesion Promoter?
Sure do!
We’re you able to run the oil slick through an airbrush? Which was better? Airbrush or brush?
Nope I actually just tested with the brush and it was so simple that I didn’t need to switch.. looks great after just one coat.. I’m sure there’d be no issues airbrushing it though
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear thank you for all the free game you give us customizers you’re forsure a huge factor on why so many people get good at this 🙌🏽
@@TrapnZay thank you! That means a lot man 🙌🏽
What is the company that produces the pigments! Awesome work by the way !!!!!
Those are all from solarcolordust!
Is there a recommended finisher to put on for the oil slick?
You know since I didn’t want it to be matte and still have a little bit of sheen… I went with the satin finish
great vid
Thanks fam!!
So I've seen other videos that said you could only use an airbrush with color change paints, and it wouldn't work with a brush. This proves you can.
Yeah I think it’ll vary from pigment to pigment.. oil slick, kaleidoshift, chameleon all were super easy to apply with brush.. it might be all uv and thermo ones that are tricked and need to be airbrushed
Well I just ordered some of that oil slick. That stuff looks awesome!
Do we need to add water to finisher to get a thinner coat?
I haven’t found the need to in the past but many people have told me they’ve struggled to spray the finisher. Could be a matter of airbrush/compressor/psi you’re running
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear thankyou for the response.
Can you make a list of what we need to use
Was there something we didn’t show?
👋A fan from jamaica!
Appreciate you!
Can i apply the uv paint with a brush?
I found it to not work as well, since it’s harder to apply evenly
Will this work with an airbrush?
Sure will!
🔥🔥
W video per usual
Thank you 🙌🏽🙌🏽
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear No problem your amazing!
The UV changing colour dont change the colour back after a time if you go to long out into the sun it never changes back
It doesn’t become white again? Or it eventually stops changing to pink in this case?
