Thats cobalt blue and the darth blue look absolutley amazing. Nice colors but those two caught my eye the most. Always seem to gravitate towards the blues.
I have some of these as well. I thin them with a 50/50 mix airbrush medium and distilled water that I also use for acrylic metallic colors. Regular thinner gives me a gritty texture. I mix them 1 part thinner to 3 parts color. Sprayed out of a 0.3mm needle @ 25psi with no issues.

I remember the old Humbrol tiny tins of enamel paints were painted with the actual colour in the tins. I now do that with all my paints now, it makes getting the right colour a lot easier.
That’s a good idea. Mask off the lid, prime it, then paint it. Maybe then mask again after dry to make a section of the painted area to be clear coated with matte/gloss depending on the original paint finish.
Definitely getting some of those on my next order! Just ordered some paints and the chrome from GSW. About the Molotow All4One, they got refill bottles, no need to use markers and yeah, guess I already said something like before but they work perfectly for airbrushing! I use the black as primer, really good adherence.

Maybe out a little seal in there you have to remove before you use it. All I have to say is that this stuff better look GREAT when I try to use it here in another week or two.

From what I've heard, the Interference paints are supposed to be used over other colors. So for example if you start out with a solid green color and use the red interference paint you end up with a sort of green/red shifting effect. I'd like to see a bunch of examples of a single interference over a few different colors to see this effect.

aw nice! I was scouring your channel to see if you had already tackled these. They're a little on the large side with their metal flakes for my taste, but nice color combos. Curiously their regular metal paints don't have that problem, and of course their metal pigment powders are the absolute best you can do with a brush when it comes to gold (as made hobby-famous by Vince Venturella)... dunno about through an airbrush though.
I’ve been looking at this Green Stuff World paint. They have a monster selection of paint and just about everything else. I’m glad you’re doing this one also. I thought you’d be saving me money but I just got $45 worth of Vallejo Dust in, after $20 in those little square bottles of teal and titaniums with golds thrown in. I think you’re actually costing me more money😜
I really like that Cobalt Blue and Darth Blue. I have a new slot car build that the Darth Blue would work really well with. The DSPIAE lacquers look excellent, not much shift but they have a high mirror finish.
Hi, hope all's good. I'm looking for a colourshift to match the heat tint of welding. I'm painting Capt Rex and want to replicate the weld from his customization mixing the phase 1 & 2 helmets. Does anybody have a go to colour for creating that rainbow?

I’ve been using this line on my Chaos Knights for 40K, I didn’t find that a thinner was necessary. Your Emerald Getaway came out much darker than mine, maybe with certain colors do a few more coats.
Not sure what causes that gold effect in the red, but I noticed that the red gunpla marker does the same thing! I've been playing around with Vallejo color shifters and the electric blue has got to be my favorite. Gonna be working on a Kampfer MG with green stuff world chrome and a candy blue over it. It's good to hear that Green Stuff world has good stuff lol.

For some reasons my Red Goblin is very much more "Magenta" than I find it in any review of this paint🤔, but it still looks great. Tropical Green I will use for some highlights on a 1/87 scale dragon I scratch built many years ago and now have to repair and repaint...😏 But the best color, the one I realy like the most is this Holographic Paint!🥰 It really gives you the full range of a rainbow, absolutely best iridescent paint. But there is a "problem" with (nearly) all colorshift paints: You can only perceive their full range of colors with "full" daylight (or the good old light bulbs).🤨😉 Looking at the shiftig colors in a room lightened up with modern LED lights (especially cold white) you may not be able to see all of them correctly.🤓😉

It's a tough call, some colors have more than others. They all have the flakes in some form or another. The Dspiae looks great but it doesn't shift as much. I would go with Vallejo for the fact they're easier to get
Quick question I don't know if you already answered so but do you have to prime your kits first before you spray that on or you just spray it on completely and second can I use a portable airbrush for this?
Any idea how well the 2K lays down on gaming miniatures? I'm a miniature painter and while most of them are matte finish, sometimes I will need a gloss, but I'm concerned it will not thin down enough to still retain the fine detail on the mini.
I haven't attempted it over a surface like a miniatures but I believe it would be fine. This is a type of question I will be answering on my soon to launch Patreon. I'll be taking direct requests from members and putting together a video just for them. Meaning like your question here, I will get a miniature and spray 2K over it and post that video just for you.

Hi Rex. Do you have the two different varieties of the Folk Art shift paint that you can get at Wal-Mart? One variety is simply called Color Shift, and they have 3 or 4 different colors and the other variety is called Dragonfly Glaze. I'm not sure how many they have, but I have two. #44381 Gold/Red/Violet and #44382E Red/Violet/Blue. Be forewarned though ... when you spray the Dragonfly, you get excess flakes like crazy flying around the air ... but they are different to be sure. Anyway, looking forward to your 2K video. I do love when you lay out the spoons at the end of your videos. I take a picture and put it in iPad Notes and then I can easily at a glance see what color I want to use. Much better than just haveing a standard Pain swatch chart.

@@WastedTalent83 Vallejo, Green Stuff World, Citadel, AK Interactive are all great brands you should be able to find in your area. Any of these are perfect for what you're doing.

You should pick a Gunpla kit that you are not overly attached to, and use it for the paint test parts. Then assemble it to the gaudy creation that it will be.
GSW makes some good stuff but I find their site tough to browse unless you know exactly what you want because they have so much stuff. The shipping also makes it tricky in the US since I feel like I need to make a big order to be worthwhile. I wish I could find some reliable US stores that carried their products.

Which airbrush medium did you use? I used Vallejo with no distilled water and get the grainy effect.

Have you ever considered, while swatching, painting the lid to know the colour shifts by look instead of guessing?

That greenish gold reminded me of the Mr Metallic GX 203 metallic yellow from Mr Hobby. Nice colors.

Show Up Paint from Japan has the best color shifting paint, but good luck trying to get your hands on them in the US

I used Red Goblin and Evil Forest on my Imperial Knight army. I was pretty happy with the results. They work well on knight models for sure.

Which basecoat (black) are you using? I heard Tamiya but which one, or is it just regular black with a gloss varnish?

What is the reason to use airbrush" thinner", rather than using airbrush "medium??
Airbrush medium is a clear paint that you add colors to to make it any color you want. Airbrush thinner is just a thinner or reducer to thin the paint

Color shifts look way better in other lighting for sure. In the sun they look the best

Judging from the backside of the gunpla pieces in this video, I’d say that he does prime them. The backs are grey and the fronts are black.

You should check their liquid frost ,is not paint but it does great with realistic frost effect on models .

Does it matter whether you use a matte or gloss black base coat?
You'll just get a slightly different finish to it. Glossy vs semi gloss
