Here’s an interesting fact. The Jungle Moon episode was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Short-Form Animation.
Amusing, considering it's the single Steven Universe episode in which Steven himself doesn't appear.

In fact, this isn't the first episode that was nominated.
"Lion 3: Straight To Video" and "The Answer" were both nominated for the same award. There are a couple of later episodes that were nominated as well, but I'll get to that later.
Lars has one of the biggest arcs of the whole show. He used to be this insecure kid worried about what everyone thought of him, now he’s a confident space captain.
He’s definitely a cool kid now
And not just that, but his relationship with Steven also evolved. Before, Lars found Steven to be very annoying and would feel himself embarassed whenever he would have Steven around when the cool kids were nearby. But after that moment at Aquamarine's ship and their adventure at Homeworld, Lars now truly considers Steven his best friend.

Emerald belongs to a class of gems that are second only to the Diamonds, with the fact she commands a fleet of spaceships being a proof of that, as only very important gems, like the Diamonds, are known to do that. That's how important Emeralds are.
Honestly, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (the voice of Connie's mother) did such a great job in Stevonnie's Dream as "Yellow Diamond" that I often forget it wasn't Patti Lupone (the actual voice of Yellow) who was voicing her.
Jinx Monsoon is the voice of Emerald ~ she made a cute video singing “All I want to do - is be a gem for you - Rebecca Sugar” like Giant Woman score - really cool fun fact ~
Yeeeeeeesssss the first real sight of Pink! It’s almost heartbreaking how long it takes to get here but simultaneously it created the BIGGEST anticipation I’ve ever felt for any show of my life. The buildup over FIVE SEASONS is incredible.
And then there's the anticipation of seeing White, and everyone collectively was like NO TAKE IT BACK after her first appearance 💀💀💀 I remember seeing when they showed that episode at SDCC and it was like a fucking jumpscare 😂😂😂

It actually took me now to realize that Stevonnie's dream/memory is mixing up the minds of not just Steven but Connie.
yes, it's also an Astral projected memory/dream about the start of Pink's timeline before getting the Earth, when she started off as a spoiled brat.

Any episode with Stevonnie is always good! The diamond lore is insane and intense!
You guys forgot steven has dreams with diamonds, he saw from Blue's eyes before, he literally entered Lars mind dreaming, this is part of his powers

Pink diamond seems to have empathy powers
Just with this episode we can pretty much guess how Pink Diamond was: just a spoiled little brat that wanted to play grown-up and would make a scene whenever her big sisters refused to give her what she wanted.
Lars is supposed to be a parody of an old anime, Space Pirate Harlock.
Remember the first stevonie episode when lars blushed a little upon seeing stevonie
everyone freaked out when these episodes came out, i loved the fan theories that came of pink diamond's face reveal.
also i thought stevonnie having a stubble was awesome, showed more of their masculine/androgynous side.
Late to the party, but just a heads up about Lars of the Stars - With Rebecca Sugar's love of anime, she modeled Lars off of Captain Harlock in this episode, a space pirate with the same scar and wardrobe who also piloted a ship with a ragtag crew. On top of that, there is also the space pirate Queen Emeraldas in the same universe who had frequent run ins with Harlock. Making her Emerald was just perfect.
Steven's in hair- that's why he can't breathe. No human will be able to. The reason why Gems can is because their bodies are only physical manifestations that adjust to any atmosphere.
The fact that they didn’t fuse for Kevin in the last episode and waited until they had a true moment of closeness before becoming Stevonnie again is the best!
Loved your reaction! This was one of my favourites cause it was here I first saw Pink Diamond and how the Gem empire was expanded.
The irony is that they did elevate his party by having a GIANT PINK LION THERE
