A couple of points. The longest river in Europe is the Volga, followed by the Danube. On the point of GB plates. One of the conditions of Brexit was that we had to change our country ID plates to UK…..insisted on by the French, AND, the French insist on full sized UK stickers, not ID on number plates. That is only acceptable for EU members. Sorry to sound pedantic, but if you are giving information in reply to questions you don’t want to give out duff info. I really doubt the GB thing would cause a problem unless you got stopped for something else, but it’s the French that insisted on it, so if anyone is going to object it’s them…..

Andy, the trees you were looking at were Plane trees, Platinus Hispanica . you can find them all over Europe, & indeed planted a lot in the uk in towns & cities, good for absorbing pollution . Enjoying the new tour vids👍🏻
Unplanned is the way to go - I plan start date and duration but everything in between is up to the adventure❤️ no stress about changing weather conditions or having to leave a nice place just for the sake of the plan

I always feel drawn to watching them, good quality, good laugh, insightful; thoroughly entertaining. I'm 43 this month with young kids, but dream of doing this with my Mrs. when the kids are old enough to stay at home alone, maybe another 12 years time if God spares me. Lovely. Thank you!

I was looking forward to this latest tour, sorry I'm a week late to the party, but episode 2 has just dropped, but already I am gripped. Firstly because, although I haven't riden my motorbike around this area, I have driven around it many times, admittedly 80% on motorways when I was a hgv driver, but was also lucky enough to use the nationals, and spend weekends parked up in some of the towns. Secondly, it was great to see you 'plan' your trips exactly how I do, a map, a list and a time to return. For my riding, which was mainly touring, if finance's and Mrs H allowed, the wing would of been my choice too. Now to episode 2.

Great first episode. My wife previously lived in France for several years and we have been tempted several times to make the trip across the channel, but first we have the 550 miles to get to Dover! I think 2025 could be our year. Looking forward to seeing the next episode
Hi Andy, just watched the vid again. Good stuff. Love the whole tour concept. My first foray was in '79 with Mrs C. on the mighty Z1000. Loosely planned, we headed for North Africa but ran out of time in southern Spain. Too many impromptu stops you see, but they added to the overall success of the trip. Too much planning dulls the opportunities to experience off piste ' happenings along the way ' I agree, maps are great and thanks for the toll tip. Unlucky with Ventoux, great views but correct decision. Anyway, I won't go on..bring on the next instalment. Cheers !
Can't wait for your next videos on this trip. Reminds me so much of my solo ride to the Cote d'Azur on my newly purchased Honda CX500A, back in the summer of 1981.....and I still have the topbox adorned with French place name stickers, to remind me of that trip. Take care for now.
The trees in Carpentras are called "Platane" (Platanus) and are particularly used in mainland city streets because they're resistant to pollution; They shed their bark in patches, which creates the pattern on the trunks. You can find them in the south but in Belgium we also used to have them. Looks like a great trip and exactly what the Wing is made for; Winging it!
You'll find Plane trees alongside old roads in France and particularly in the south as Napoleon decreed they were to be planted to provide his troops with shade when moving about. Often they will only be on one side of the road as the road in question was too narrow to have them on both sides for cars so they removed half of them.
Great news - I love your touring series, 9 more installments; happy days!! In August I had a fantastic trip from Valencia (home) across Spain, over the Pyrenees, across France visiting some truly beautiful spots to the Alps & back. Looking forward to more than 2 months more of this, thanks✌

I met you at the ABR festival this year after richa done his talk and I grabbed a photo with you and our baldy heads were shining in the photo you took ,you are just the same in real life a pure gentleman. The same applies to the expression ‘to let the cat out of the bag’ to represent a difficult situation. The cat o’ nine tails was kept in a special bag when not in use and being stored away. So when the cat came out of the bag someone was in for some punishment. The term ‘square meal’ also had a nautical theme - the plates used onboard were actually square and made of wood.
These tours may not be the most watched, but they are a nice way ti chill out in the evening and enjoy some great scenery. The Goldwing seems very good at low speed. About 18:35 for example.
You can skip that 3d cam. Adds nothing to it. And the rest is perfect! What a smooth beast this Goldwing is. I love it and i want it. Thanks for your tours. I enjoy every minute.

I LOVE your tour vids, as do many others….what was particularly useful for me in this one, was when you showed how you went about preparing the bike, docs, clean air stickers ( didn’t know about them for example)’ and the route planning stuff with all the maps / big map ‘ country maps, and Winging It…best feeling of freedom ever, especially on the mighty Wing….noticed on the start you now got Honda as a sponsor too? I even watched the Lawn Mower review ( was it?), back in Covid lockdown....i bought a R1250 GSA in 2022, and i remember you asking me why i got that, rather than the GS, when we had a chat after you'd come off stage at ABR 2022..( wanted the big tank, scaffolding for the metal panniers, i got BUMOT ones, they're great...) and about 5 weeks ago, i was a naughty boy ( again!), and bought a Z900 RS SE 2022 model, just like yours....what a bike!.. Never had a Jap Inline 4 before, and it was on my bucket list.....came with the SW motech panniers like yours ( watched your vid of course, on fitting them!), and a matching SW Motech " top box" which i didn't no they did....i always loved the look of that bike...after riding it , Wow....i think your vids of yours helped nudged me over the edge!. On a recent bike trip to visit a friend living near Nîmes, I was told the trees lining the roads are mostly plane trees which were planted under instruction from Napoleon. They were situated to offer shade to his marching troops in hot weather.
Really enjoyed this episode and look forward to seeing more as the weeks roll on. There’s something about Goldwings and GSA’s that make the onboard footage a pleasure to watch, the stability in corners and lack of dive make a big difference to the viewing experience.
@@flyingsi5701 don’t put off do it, had ours 18 months ago after have owned a Kawasaki VN900 for 14 years. After major heart surgery, my Wife and children pushed me to get one as what to me was a wild dream( never liked the pre 2018 wings). No you can’t borrow the wife ! the classic statement from her when in the dealers was get it or get a divorce lawyer. Chris the salesman almost fell off his chair “ well that’s a change normally it’s buy that and i’m getting a lawyer”

Hi Andy. Really enjoyed watching this. I have just watched your VLOG and you recommended checking it out. That area is lovely. We were there earlier in this year on pedal power two-wheels. We cycled up Mt Ventoux (BTW it's more commonly known in cycling circles as Mont rather than Mount). Definitely recommend you popping back to explore and there are different routes up to the summit as well as the lesser known Gorge du Nesque which takes you towards Sault and then you can summit from the east. Bedoin makes a nice base to explore too. Definitely go to the Belvedere restaurant just north of Crillon le Brave which has wonderful views over Mt Ventoux. Looking forward to catching up with your tour. Best...
What a lovely country France is. The Goldwing has got to be one of the best bikes to do it on too, and we love the sound of that engine purring 👌🏼 Im rather partial to a couple of apples every now and then; im working my way up to melons 😉
Melons can be over-rated (counter intuitively) - apples are perfect in my (considerable) experience….snd yes that big flat six sounds great doesn’t it, really comfy too - the best touring bike two up by far imo.
loved travelling through France stopping off at quaint villages, done it for 28 years from France to Germany Switzerland Belgium Brussels Austria Italy with a bike 2 up, and a car with the children, nice relaxing video,

Personally I enjoy the tours I’ve just returned from a “Dambusters” tour with an old RAF buddy. It was tremendously enjoyable where we visited crash sites, the 3 dams and two war cemeteries paying our respects. I need another tour already this time with the missus Thanks for posting

Olives are very healthy 😊lol. Although I’m not there it really does come across how beautiful the cafes are with the tables and trees and just the lovely buildings, it looks very relaxing , it would be lovely if we had places like that in uk. Very enjoyable to watch thanks😊

Hey guys looks like you had an amazing time. We were halfway up lake como just recently in a place called tremezzo and every second vehicle was a BMW GS or some other touring bike. The roads from there up into Switzerland were absolutely pristine. I was so jealous 😂

It's no big deal - weight is nice and low and the reverse creep mode is really handy for manouvreing

The same applies to the expression ‘to let the cat out of the bag’ to represent a difficult situation. The cat o’ nine tails was kept in a special bag when not in use and being stored away. So when the cat came out of the bag someone was in for some punishment. The term ‘square meal’ also had a nautical theme - the plates used onboard were actually square and made of wood.
These tours may not be the most watched, but they are a nice way ti chill out in the evening and enjoy some great scenery. The Goldwing seems very good at low speed. About 18:35 for example.
Yes it's a very well balanced bike at slow speed.....

I LOVE your tour vids, as do many others….what was particularly useful for me in this one, was when you showed how you went about preparing the bike, docs, clean air stickers ( didn’t know about them for example)’ and the route planning stuff with all the maps / big map ‘ country maps, and Winging It…best feeling of freedom ever, especially on the mighty Wing….noticed on the start you now got Honda as a sponsor too? I even watched the Lawn Mower review ( was it?), back in Covid lockdown....i bought a R1250 GSA in 2022, and i remember you asking me why i got that, rather than the GS, when we had a chat after you'd come off stage at ABR 2022..( wanted the big tank, scaffolding for the metal panniers, i got BUMOT ones, they're great...) and about 5 weeks ago, i was a naughty boy ( again!), and bought a Z900 RS SE 2022 model, just like yours....what a bike!.. Never had a Jap Inline 4 before, and it was on my bucket list.....came with the SW motech panniers like yours ( watched your vid of course, on fitting them!), and a matching SW Motech " top box" which i didn't no they did....i always loved the look of that bike...after riding it , Wow....i think your vids of yours helped nudged me over the edge!. On a recent bike trip to visit a friend living near Nîmes, I was told the trees lining the roads are mostly plane trees which were planted under instruction from Napoleon. They were situated to offer shade to his marching troops in hot weather.

Hi Andy. Really enjoyed watching this. I have just watched your VLOG and you recommended checking it out. That area is lovely. We were there earlier in this year on pedal power two-wheels. We cycled up Mt Ventoux (BTW it's more commonly known in cycling circles as Mont rather than Mount). Definitely recommend you popping back to explore and there are different routes up to the summit as well as the lesser known Gorge du Nesque which takes you towards Sault and then you can summit from the east. Bedoin makes a nice base to explore too. Definitely go to the Belvedere restaurant just north of Crillon le Brave which has wonderful views over Mt Ventoux. Looking forward to catching up with your tour. Best...

What a lovely country France is. The Goldwing has got to be one of the best bikes to do it on too, and we love the sound of that engine purring 👌🏼

Melons can be over-rated (counter intuitively) - apples are perfect in my (considerable) experience….snd yes that big flat six sounds great doesn’t it, really comfy too - the best touring bike two up by far imo.

I’ve just returned from a “Dambusters” tour with an old RAF buddy.
It was tremendously enjoyable where we visited crash sites, the 3 dams and two war cemeteries paying our respects.

Olives are very healthy 😊lol. Although I’m not there it really does come across how beautiful the cafes are with the tables and trees and just the lovely buildings, it looks very relaxing , it would be lovely if we had places like that in uk. Very enjoyable to watch thanks😊

Hey guys looks like you had an amazing time. We were halfway up lake como just recently in a place called tremezzo and every second vehicle was a BMW GS or some other touring bike. The roads from there up into Switzerland were absolutely pristine. I was so jealous 😂

@@TheMissendenFlyer Mighty impressed with how relaxed the wing appears to be, at one time you were going through a town at what appeared to be just over 20mph and the wing selects ‘4th’ gear at hardly any revs! I hope you keep a note on the fuel economy for the trip, would be very interesting for us nerds! 😀👍
