Marie-Anne, I love that you promote a style that is respectful of women. I have felt also like I am from another planet when I think about dressing with style, a simple, classic style. I have just found you. (lockdown) My daughter and I (after watching your videos) have emptied our closets and simplified. We go out, and a store clerk says, "You two are styling!" Your tips are great!
This! So much has gone into the trash- but I must, becuase I deal in art, have clothes I don't mind getting destroyed- so much got tossed, and I'm glad of it. I love the trench coat so much, but in my rural area, could not find a store that offered them, and ordering online, with my size, is a crapshoot. I ended up buying a vintage pattern to sew it
Marie-Anne is adorable! She obviously really cares about people, and it comes through. I am learning a lot from her videos. I am so grateful that she has made them for people who want to look stylish, want to feel comfortable, and don't want to look like they are trying too hard.
Totally agree with your position on "sexy." Over revealing can be tacky. "Sexy" is intriguing, captivating, mysterious, alluring. Revealing is demanding attention. There is no mystery in a dress that is low cut, high cut, skin tight and hot pink all at once. If one desires some reveal, choose one reveal, not every reveal.
i love how you ended this video with the most important thing being happiness and being comfortable in our own skin. Love your videos, Marie-Anne! Thank you.
I like that you use colour and not just black, white and neutrals. For me that would be too boring especially in winter when it's already so gloomy with short days and long nights.
Love all of your examples. I am over 50 and find it really hard to buy new clothes as I am unsure of what is appropriate for me. I do NOT want to look like I am trying too hard. You are amazing. Love all of your advice and videos.
Bonjour a tous! While living in France, one of the most attractive and chic accessories I observed French people wearing was CONFIDENCE. You can take your outfits to the next level, when you pair them up with confidence. (Even if you're not confident, "fake it 'til you make it." Work on your confidence, it will change your life!) I love Marie-Anne's last name. "Lecoeur" - it means "the heart" in French. What a beautiful last name. Merci Marie-Anne pour le video.
Merci! As a frequent visitor to France, I am always trying for the understated French look. Black with accessories is my packing mode. Scarves are a must.❤
I want to thank you, Marie-Anne, for all your guidance. Since subscribing to your channel, I feel so much more comfortable & confident in my style choices. Big hugs to you from America!
For the _first_ time in my life, I wore ripped jeans the other day! That is, I wore them for about 20 minutes -- after ripping them climbing over a barbed-wire fence while doing some plumbing maintenance around my property -- and that was how long it took me to get back to the house! I will repair them, but now they'll only be worn for gardening and other yard-work (and future barbed-wire fence-climbing plumbing-expeditions!), for I totally agree with you -- ripped jeans are NOT chic, no matter what your age.
I love your style, your haircut, your simple but very chic makeup, and of course your beautiful accent. I don’t know how tall you are, but you look tall. I think it’s easier to look good in clothes when you’re slender. Fuller figured ladies can look fabulous as well, it’s just easier when you’re slim (like you). Slim women seem to be able to pull off almost any look and even more so if you’re tall and slim.
I am not in my 50s yet, but I have always admired the simple chic of French women, I just didn't realize that what I have been striving for all my life, was exactly that. You are very inspirational, thank you!
Marie-Anne, I have become addicted to your videos, just love all the brilliant tips you share with your views. Always good to be able to reinvent oneself and keep looking fresh and vibrant. It is too easy to not look one's best, but making the effort is always well worth the time. This Grammy, needs to keep up with the times, and with your help, it is a lot easier than I thought. Thank you so much!
Great advice Marie-Anne. I (almost 67) have a style journal with color blocks. I use colored pencils to record looks I put together, (including accessories) so I will remember them. I've always had a sense of style but adjusted it a few years ago. I call my main look classic, effortless chic with a twist (or an edge, depending) and I also have a very subtle boho look I enjoy once in a while. I've found I can really change-up my look with different jackets and blazers (and shoes). You have helped me develop my style. Thank you!
Trying too hard always shows. It is comforting to know that you don't have to go to these lengths any more in later life. Thank you for your inspiration.
This is the channel I’ve been waiting for!❤️ I just found your channel today, and I’m hooked. I’ve been binge watching most of the day. I absolutely love how you explain about the styles , show examples , and model them so we can see how to pull that specific style together and how it will look. All of your style/fashion looks are do-able and easily found in shops without having to spend a lot of money on them. Thank you so much for the time you put into these uploads. They are so helpful. I have subscribed and am so excited to watch more!
So glad to find your channel!! There aren't too many good 50+ stylists out there that I can actually agree with, so thank you for keeping it modern and chic!! 😘 I'll be 54 in August, and I've always strived to look like I'm not trying too hard. Lately, my ever-fluctuating weight, mood, Texas weather, and oh--the pandemic/quarantine lifestyle, have made me feel quite "Mumsy" and frumpy. I miss wearing my good clothes, out and about!! 😅💪🏽
About showing skin, I think Coco Chanel said it’s better left to the imagination. So you’re in good company Marie-Anne. Thanks for all your great ideas.
You've just reminded me of some great advice that my wonderful Dad gave me years ago, when we were talking about women's appearance. Always leave something to the imagination!!! He was so right!! The gentleman in my life has always said the same thing!! Thanks, darling Daddy!!
A wonderful topic again. It made me think of my grandma because she always looked 10 years younger than she really was and listening to you I could see followed the same principles. Classic pieces mixed with something more trendy but not too obvious. Fresh and chic haircuts, natural looking makeup, zero flashy jewelry and darker colors but with a touch of color (scarf, shoes, a blouse that made the whole ensemble stand out ). All made in a very subtle way. But as she said and I think the same, young women under 30 are beautiful and sweet but mature women are sexy, attractive, gorgeous and incredibly interesting because they have wisdom, experience and came to an age when they know their body, they like and accept it and learned how to highlight their best features. This is a topic I can’t keep short in words because being raised by a grandma and having lived among her friends and sisters pretty much her age, made me admire mature ladies. Another thing, you look as young as your heart and Marie-Anne you are a perfect example! So go ladies, these are the best years. You are in the perfect age. The previous years were just a rehearsal for this! A bientot!😻
I was so fortunate to live in Montreal, Canada as a young woman...it trained my eye to decern the good from the best. I enjoy your videos so very much ! Merci !
Thank you Marie-Anne, I really enjoyed this video. I am struggling a bit (being 51 now) with my style. Knowing I must change from the skinny jeans (which I loved) to a little more classic. It's hard work, but I have received a few compliments since trying to change (you know a white shirt instead of a T-shirt, wide trousers instead of skinny's) so I must be on the right track. But as you say you need to try new things out and it really works! Thank you for the encouragement that you don't need to be a slave to all the trends, but just tweak your outfits to keep yourself modern.
You are doing very well Leigh 👏 compliments show you are on the right path - document your journey in a style journal to accelerate your style journey 😃 watch here th-cam.com/video/T-focA7cU5k/w-d-xo.html 😘
Such a lovely video. I will be 65 next month. Not sure what happened to the last 30 years! How did I get here so fast?! But, thankful that I did. I still want to look young, modern, stylish, but not ridiculous. Love all your ideas!! Have many jackets/blazers that will start wearing with jeans, pants. Wear dresses with flats… etc. You have made me go shopping in my closet! Thank you again for helping us, not so young ladies, look amazing.
I turn 50 this year, but the style tips you gave, I believe, can transcend all age groups. I also love how you said, "I you're trying to look sexy, you will never look sexy." SO TRUE!!! Thank you for such an informative video.
Not sure about the mummy look but I'm in my early 60s and I'm totally loving the flowing floral dresses. I feel feminine, comfortable and sufficiently chic for me. Great ideas from you.
I think a lot depends on the particular print and your personal essence. For me, puffed sleeves have always been anathema. I saw a photo of an older model wearing a cute little dress with puffed sleeves, years ago, and she looked darling, but on me they always just looked wrong, even when I was a teenager. Your body type, your face type, and your essence make a lot of difference.
I agree, classics are a great solution for older women. Great job showing what would be considered "classic" and how to wear them with a little sophistication.
Thank you for talking about knees. My husband always insists that skirts need to be above the knee, but I think you must have good looking knees otherwise the look is spoiled.
LOVED everything you said! I really appreciated your advice to train your eye and try new things. I know when my hair gets to a certain length, it drags my face down. A good haircut is very important as we grow older. I am really enjoying the videos and the French Chic 365. I feel revitalized in making outfits. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Here to say that as as a woman of the same age, trying to find clothing that is classic, age-appropriate, and NOT matronly is so hard. I swear, US stores think you should go straight from flashy junior/club wear to mom jeans and granny sweaters.
Another great video! I agree on the haircut suggestion. Even if someone is wearing a knockout outfit, but they have long ,straggly hair, no one will see the outfit. The hair detracts from the face, if not done up properly. I agree on the low cut, short skirts. Leave those for the younger gals. We already did it once! Thank you for pointing out the do's and don'ts.
You are such a breath of fresh air, Marie-Anne! All great tips! I especially appreciate you saying no ripped jeans. In my opinion there is nothing that screams 'trying too hard' more than ripped jeans. Thank you for your chic content!
As I've gotten to the age of "over fifty" to the next decade, I have had to adjust and think about what is too young for me. I still think of myself as thirty or forty. I have lost weight and so I have gotten a renewed interest in putting on fashion that fits me and that I haven't been able to wear for years. I do not have a set style because I want to experience all looks and styles. As an American, we basically wear what is comfortable which is most of the time dumpy things that a French woman would cringe at. As we get into that stage of life where we are no longer in the working world, our style changes and we do not need the clothing we did when we went to work. I end up going to the grocery store with no makeup and looking dumpy as ever. I want to be that woman that looks good no matter where she goes. These styling tips you gave in this video give some good examples for me. We all have jeans and a nice shirt and jacket. Looking put together without looking like we've tried is a mantra we all can use as women.
Thank you for all this useful help. I’d almost thrown out my old businesses suits. All beautiful fabric & cut, classic some are 20yrs old. But I no longer need to power dress. I’ve split them up as you suggested. Now I have a smart new fresh look. Many thanks from NZ.
You are so right Marie-Anne! I am turning 50 next year and for the past 6 months I have given about 30-40 bags of clothes, shoes and bags to my local second hand shop as I no longer feel the styles that I used to like are "me" anymore! I am enjoying embracing a more classic style now I am older - as Audrey Hepburn said in Breakfast at Tiffany's - its tacky to wear diamonds unless you're over 40 haha!
Love this video! Now I know why I rarely wear my classic navy blazer; I have tried it with dresses, most of which are navy with a small floral pattern.. I feel fabulous when I wear a biker jacket with the dresses, but distinctly mumsy with the blazer. In the spring I will try to wear the blazer with a t shirt and jeans and I think I’ll wear it more. Thank you! I love the combination of your green tweed skirt and pink check blouse on you, and yes, a leather jacket is definitely a touch of rock n roll! I felt very chic yesterday wearing jeans and ankle boots, a shirt and cardigan, topped with my long camel coat, worn open as it was a pleasant day. The long coat took the outfit up a notch. I’ve had some fun this week wearing a plain trilby hat with a contrasting scarf pinned around the hatband, clustered into a sort of flower with a “diamond” headed pin in the centre.
Thank you so much for taking the time to point out so many traits that may be unattractive for us ladies in our 60s. Also you have motivated me to get in my closet and get rid of a whole bunch of things that have been sitting there that I no longer should be wearing and maybe make room for something chic on down the line. Keep up the great work. I wish I could afford to fly you out here to Tucson Arizona and have you redo my whole closet. I’m afraid I wouldn’t have much left. But I’ll start working on it.
Thank you for the tips, Marie-Anne. They are most relevant to where I am in my life. I especially love the one about adding masculine elements, they look such fun on feminine (girlie) women.
What a great video for those of us who are over 50! You are so inspiring! I love the saying "Do not try too hard!" (Or, do not look like you are trying too hard). I find that this is the key to creating your own chic look. Your book, How To Be Chic And Elegant: Tips From A French Woman, as always, is a valuable source to which I turn time and time again!!!
Love your style tips. You are so right about trying too hard to achieve a certain look. In Britain a lot of young women want to try too hard to look sexy and and seem to get it so wrong. I love the French style. 😊
TY for enabling us to look YOUNGER THAN SPRINGTIME. When I was 50 (ok that was 15 years ago), I played a background teen in a stage rock opera. I was able to wear my own beige trench coat (which I still own and wear from time to time as it still fits but I took out the bulky winter lining as it makes me look like a veggie sausage). As I mentioned last year, I had to stop over processing my super blonde hair because of shingles in the eye area that caused blisters. I opted for a medium sandy blonde which is close to my childhood hair color. I've received mega compliments on this more subdued hair color. My point is: you don't have to overdo fashion in order to look "younger."
I agree about choices in hair color and style. I think many, if not most, older women look better with a natural hair color, or letting their silver show. As long as your hair style is modern and you take care of your hair, maybe even by taking biotin to strengthen the follicles, if needed, you'll look cool and sharp.
I love how you did a mix and match with your suit and other pieces from your wardrobe. The inset video with you wearing the different outfits was so helpful. You had a lot of pretty outfits to wear. Also I agree with your tip not to over do the sexy look. I think young and older can have a problem with trying too hard for the sexy look.
Thanks a lot to this channel. I'm 62, going through this transition to different age group. I found most of your recommendations more than useful, they so much agreed with my feelings. Thanks a lot , Marie-Anne!
Thank You for this. I love that you say "subtle" for sexy. I've always thought you need to leave something for the imagination. One of my favourite styles is a nice white t-shirt with black pants and a chic jacket. Beautiful vibrant colour in my scarf is the topping on the cake for me.
Such a great topic, especially for those of us who are well beyond 50! I am 66 and do not want to look like my grandmother or mother did. I wear classic clothing, but own items such as a leather bomber jacket, plain white t-shirts, fashionable jeans and jean jackets. I wear my jean jacket with white, cream or black jeans and a scarf or necklace and booties. I tend to love dressy or "work" clothing, but that does not match my lifestyle, so I'm trying to create outfits that are casual, but attractive and relaxed. I agree that all classic clothing or matched suits is aging. You need to break up the suits and wear the pieces with the odd trendy separate and stylish shoes. Excellent video as always, Marie-Anne. Merci beaucoup!!
Exactly! I am 66 until next week. I tell my husband that I don't want to dress like an old lady. he tells me you are old. Yes but Ican still look chic and fashionable. I wear the same items as you Carol. I am very careful not to dress too young. Nothing looks worse than trying to dress young when I clearly am not. Fashion can be fun at any age. I also have trouble dressing casual or down. I try but am still dressed up even in jeans.
I totally understand where you're coming from, Carol. I live on my Finca in Andalucía, Spain and am, at this point, trying to figure out how I can continue dressing tastefully, yet in a practical way, considering my new lifestyle and surroundings. Moreover, I'm also middle aged, and don't want to look like I'm trying to emulate a teenager with tee shirts and jeans. The video was really insightful and shows that accessorizing properly is a great key.
I think it's hard not to look overdressed in a society that now favors athleisure wear and ripped Jean's. I tend to wear dresses and skirts but have to make sure the length is right. Short legs and gray hair don't go well with tea length and makes one look frumpy.
I hate athliesure in public. No one is going to the gym. People wear spandex so tight you can see their skin. Many stylists wear ripped jeans, however I see nothing chic and elegant about them. We used to mend or get rid of torn clothing. I also dislike short wide leg pants or jeans that look like “ high waters”. Sadly most people dress slovenly and disgusting. Some actually don’t know how to dress.
Great video topic! For me, chic vs mumsy is the difference between classic and conservative. I always try to add something interesting or a bit unexpected.
I never comment but I have to say your channel has been so useful for practical hints and tips. You have highlighted the reasons why I don't opt for certain items like trench coats and have provided wearable solutions. Thank you.
Superb advice ! Thank you. I recommend to invest in a fabric shaver and a clothes steamer to quickly remove wrinkles and tailor pieces when possible so that you look polished.
You are always in good taste. You have truly inspired me to do better. Can't wait to tackle my closets. I see I need more light weight stylish jackets to wear in air conditioned churches, restaurants. I have hope for my future as I see my self-imagine improving instead of declining. So much bad stuff to get rid of. 😝
I just found this chanel and loved it. French women are the smartest and most elegant and I am happy I found it. Marie Anne, you are gorgeous. Salut direct from Brazil. Thank you!
I’ve always thought small prints look momsy on me and for the most part wear prints in the scarves only . Occasionally I find a geometric print I like . I’ve concluded this is my style. Tailored shirts alone or under sweater with dark jeans are my usual dress style. Sometimes I do rethink what I find shopping as too young looking for me . Avoiding floral tops and bright coloured bottoms goes a long way to not dressing too old. I think this subject is something most women struggle a bit with once we are 50+
I wear mainly - monochrome or color-blocking in black, charcoal, navy or white. To add color to my ensemble, I might wear a bright tee shirt or accessory, such as a scarf. However, I do think a foulard print silk tee, in rich jewel colors, is elegant with an otherwise monochrome outfit, and as long as no other print is added, would not be frumpy.
Marie Anne, spot on as usual. I found changes necessary in the 60’s. Always loved suits. Now they feel severe and unflattering. Deconstructing the blazer still works, but the slacks and skirts didn’t seem to “stand alone” as well. As to earrings, I always wore studs or hoops. Have been trying earrings with a bit of dangle on wires. Also started wearing a ring on my right middle finger - only wore my wedding ring on the left hand in the past. Recently moved to ankle boots and tights under skirts. Small tweaks, but still favor tailored garments. Summer dressing is the most difficult. Hate little dresses and shorts. Ankle length slacks and tops are as far as I have gotten there. Thank you for the video. All the best.
"Can look a little bit mumsy!" Love it! So much good advice. I so enjoy watching your videos. You are a "class act" yet you make us ole girls feel like you are our friend. Keep the great content coming and don't pay any attention to the nasty comments that you get occasionally. Those are just sick-o people who have no life and like to troll TH-cam channels.
I was in a mall a couple of months ago and saw myself in a mirror, and thought about what you said, Marie-Anne, about cutting one's hair, and I thought to myself, "Michelle, we need to polish up our act!" So, that next weekend, I cut my hair into a pixie, and I love it!! Thanks so much for your wonderful advice!! A bientot!!
French Chic 50 and Beyond! These are perfect tips or rules to follow at any age. I don't think cleavage should show at any age. That is not sexy. Sexy does not mean revealing too much. I always cover my arms, for me 3/4 sleeves. My friends wear sleeveless and it looks sooo bad. As you said in the previous video stockings make a world of difference in the way our legs and outfit look. Your lace blouse is very feminine and pretty. I think a touch of lace is perfect. You always look very chic and elegant.
Marie Anne you answered my question that I once asked you in the comments! I always wanted you to make a video on dressing for your age. I'm 30 and I always wondered if I have to change up my style but now I know the 3 elements I have to incorporate while being myself. Thank you for always sharing your wisdom From Eagle eye
Bonjour Marie Anne, Fantastic video! Just what I needed as I am a mature lady and it isn't always easy to dress for my age. Trying to maintain a happy medium between not looking too young and not looking too old. Merci
Another element to explore is color. Flattering color is based on complexion, not hair or even eye color. It's important to know what colors close to the face flatter and minimize lines. Then the closet will reflect with compatible colors that mix well with each other. Marie -Anne is a Winter and looks great in black, lipstick red, etc. But a Summer looks best in off-black, muted finish fabrics, cool greys, off-white, etc. Springs looks amazing in bright orange and orange-red, colors that would be awful on others. Autumns looks beautiful in mustard yellow and olive green, which no one else can handle near the face. Marie-Anne's face pops with the right colors which she of course chooses for herself. And the bright red lipstick works on her but would fail on other seasons. Winters rule because they are the majority of complexions and the fashion industry supplies more clothes in their colors. Pop the collar, push up the sleeves, sometimes works to make something look better
I agree totally. I am 66 and like to be modern, not frumpy but not tarty. I am continually conscious of how l look and try to maintain the correct level of quality and class. I so much enjoy your videos and look forward to your next one. 😘
My husband had a good idea....buy an instant camera. Take pictures of your outfits as you try them on and put them in a binder. That way if you get into a rut of wearing the same thing over and over, you can go to the binder for inspiration. Plus, what your eye sees isn't always what others see. It can give you a new perspective on colors, shapes, and styles.
Lovely the way you showed your tweed suit worn as separates. Thank you, I have enjoyed your video very much. I don’t look mummies. Despite being an ancient so it’s such fun seeing your way of doing it. Thank you sweet lady.
Thank you, thank you, merci beaucoup for this video! I love your kind and honest way of explaining the points you make in all of your videos. I am finally gaining confidence in what I choose to wear, thanks to you. Best wishes.
This was so enjoyable, Marie-Anne! I loved how you showed the two pieces of the green suit worn together--looking formal and serious when paired with the white blouse and black court shoes--and then separate, combined with unexpected pieces. I especially loved the skirt with the bright pink checkered shirt because I would've never thought of that combination, yet it looked so fresh! I also loved what you're wearing, the sheer shirt under the black v-neck sweater. Warm weather is starting where I am, but I will try it this week before I put all my cozy jumpers away.
Excellent video, Anne-Marie! Mixing jackets from suits with nice dark jeans or slacks gives it all a fresh new look & perspective! I also love your brown leather jacket! I'm still on the lookout for a good brown one! That always adds an edgy touch. I definitely want to look younger, but don't want to look like I'm "trying!" When my 5 y/o granddaughter asked how old I am, I replied, "I'm 56 and holding." Her next words were, "Gammi! What is 'and holding?' " I told her, "Sometimes when an adult gets to an age they like, they just choose to 'hold' or 'stay' there! So, I'm 'holding!'" "Oh." So, if you're "holding," your grandchildren may call you out on that! I, myself, intend to "hold" for a while longer! 🤫😉 I also liked the geometric print you showed. And sometimes polka-dot tops. But I'm always reminded of an older gentleman I served with on a board. After we heard an excellent speaker, I asked him what he thought about her. He replied, "I don't know. I just never like a woman in a polka-dot dress! I don't know why!" Now that I've been a therapist for 20 yrs, I have hunch I know why ... but won't tell him unless he should ask! Even yrs later, I remember the speaker said, "It's never too late to be what you might have been." It was a life-changing statement for me! But he couldn't get past her polka-dot dress! Back to "holding," THAT'S another reason I follow you ... you teach me how to look chic as I continue to hold ... without looking like I am‼ 🙃😆😁 You're the best! 👍❤❤💞💞
I totally agree with you about ripped jeans. In my opinion, they are a fashion disaster.
So I’m 78 and in good condition. I do try hard to balance my clothes for classy pieces and usually I enjoy them. 💜
i love how you ended this video with the most important thing being happiness and being comfortable in our own skin.
Merci! As a frequent visitor to France, I am always trying for the understated French look. Black with accessories is my packing mode. Scarves are a must.❤
I love that rule - add something casual, masculine or modern! That makes so much sense about why some outfits work while others feel too stuffy.

You have converted me to the capsule wardrobe, i now have quality basics. Your tips are my bread and butter, thank you! Finally stylish at 50!
I love the way she says "a spot of colour" with her gorgeous accent.
Love this comment. Made me chuckle.
Correction, meant to say 'viewers,'
I am very glad my channel resonates with you SJordan 🤗 the effort is always worth it 😃👍
Great advice Marie-Anne.
I think the lace with the sweater is a perfect combination. 😻
So glad to find your channel!!
There aren't too many good 50+ stylists
out there that I can actually agree with, so thank you for keeping it modern and chic!! 😘
I'll be 54 in August, and I've always strived to look like I'm not trying too hard. Lately, my ever-fluctuating weight, mood, Texas weather, and oh--the pandemic/quarantine lifestyle, have made me feel quite "Mumsy" and frumpy.
I miss wearing my good clothes, out and about!! 😅💪🏽
Marie-Anne Lecoeur Merci très beaucoup! 🤩❤️
I love how you layer ultra feminine items with more classic pieces. I would not have thought to do that. Merci!
You are right abt Chanel...Karl lagerfeld disagreed at times...🥰
A bientot!😻
I love the way you dress and feel that neat, clean, and tidy is important.
A little bizzaz is enough!
Great points. "Smile alot, be happy and be active" what a great way to live.
So true...Way to meet the World...
I love the way you explain sexy versus "trying to hard" or as I would say "a bit trashy". Thanks again.
Thank you for how you simplify style and differentiate it from fashion.
Love colour to look younger
Thank you for talking about knees. My husband always insists that skirts need to be above the knee, but I think you must have good looking knees otherwise the look is spoiled.
LOVED everything you said! I really appreciated your advice to train your eye and try new things. I know when my hair gets to a certain length, it drags my face down. A good haircut is very important as we grow older. I am really enjoying the videos and the French Chic 365. I feel revitalized in making outfits. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
With my 53rd birthday just around the corner, I am determined to keep adding a touch of the unexpected and modern to my look. Thanks, Marie-Anne!
Enjoyed your video! Very positive, upbeat and informative. Thank you. Looking forward to learning more.
You are so beautiful. A great role model for women of all ages. Yes 👍 maturity is beautiful and can be elegant, chic and fresh.
Marie-Ann, I absolutely love your green suit worn together. It's beautiful and suits you so well. It's a classic and epitomises style.
Thank you for all this useful help. I’d almost thrown out my old businesses suits. All beautiful fabric & cut, classic some are 20yrs old. But I no longer need to power dress. I’ve split them up as you suggested. Now I have a smart new fresh look. Many thanks from NZ.
With all the bad news and events in the world, you're a ray of hope. Thank you also for this video with a positive attitude towards life.
I tried on a navy blazer just this week (I'm 70) and saw an airline stewardess in the mirror - just not for me...and it's such a classic!
So true, Elegant and good quality materials is the secret to good style. I love your ideas. Have always admired the French look.
Whenever I need of dose of Classy, I look too see what Marie-Anne is doing!! i love the top she is wearing.
Wow what a gift, you are a treasure. Let me try to get organized.
That green tweed suit in whole or as components is really outstanding. Great inspiration!
C. C. I agree, it looks stunning!
☘It is stunning. Love the way she restyled them too. Very fresh & exciting.
Love your style tips. You are so right about trying too hard to achieve a certain look. In Britain a lot of young women want to try too hard to look sexy and and seem to get it so wrong. I love the French style. 😊
Trying to look sexy never works Jayan
Such a cute French Woman. Lovely mannerisms and expression. This video was very confirming for this 72 year old!
You are very welcome Svetlana 😘
loved the little dog in the video, so cute
I tend to love dressy or
"work" clothing, but that does not match my lifestyle, so I'm trying to create outfits that are casual, but attractive and relaxed.
I live on my Finca in Andalucía, Spain and am, at this point, trying to figure out how I can continue dressing
tastefully, yet in a practical way, considering my new lifestyle and surroundings.
@@lindariddle2276 Exactly...many people wearing athleisure wear don't even exercise and are really overweight. It makes no sense.
Good points made there 👍 as someone who over 50 I found this very interesting thank you so much 😘
Great video topic!
I love when you teach us the French phrases; grandmother style! feeling well in our skin!
I adore your haircut, Marie Anne! It's incredibly chic, looks like it would be easy to manage and most importantly, suits the shape of your face.
I was in a mall a couple of months ago and saw myself in a mirror, and thought about what you said, Marie-Anne, about cutting one's hair, and I thought to myself, "Michelle, we need to polish up our act!"
So, that next weekend, I cut my hair into a pixie, and I love it!!
Thanks so much for your wonderful advice!!
A bientot!!
Jam packed full of brilliant information. Thank you so much for all your hard work, Marie-Anne. 🇺🇸😘❤️🌸
Too hot in FL not to be sleeveless. I try to cover up as much as I can, tho.
Marie Anne you answered my question that I once asked you in the comments! I always wanted you to make a video on dressing for your age. I'm 30 and I always wondered if I have to change up my style but now I know the 3 elements I have to incorporate while being myself. Thank you for always sharing your wisdom
From Eagle eye
Thank you for the wonderful tips. Love the classic with a modern twist.
Excellent video. Very helpful advice on how to mix what you already have to create French chic. 😀
Ooh!!! another video from Marie-Anne. I immediately watch and so happy I did. Expert advice that answers my questions and gives new ideas.
I agree totally. I am 66 and like to be modern, not frumpy but not tarty. I am continually conscious of how l look and try to maintain the correct level of quality and class. I so much enjoy your videos and look forward to your next one. 😘
I have my tea ☕️ in hand.

Your green tweed suit is exceptional! 😍😍😍It would fit right in my wardrobe! 🤩
I am retired and in my 70s. As I continue to dress respectably, your show is a God sent and fun, too. Thank you for your work.
You are so welcome Josefa x
Lovely the way you showed your tweed suit worn as separates. Thank you, I have enjoyed your video very much. I don’t look mummies. Despite being an ancient so it’s such fun seeing your way of doing it. Thank you sweet lady.
I love all the outfits Marie-Anne, and especially the one with the trenchcoat and the green tweed jacket.... but I really love them all!
Hi Marie Anne such a great video I am 56 and this was perfect !!! Have a lovely weekend
Thank you, thank you, merci beaucoup for this video! I love your kind and honest way of explaining the points you make in all of your videos. I am finally gaining confidence in what I choose to wear, thanks to you. Best wishes.
This is information I can put to good use, thank you! Also, I liked your little helper when you were modeling the trench coat 🐶🐶❤
Excellent video and I love the simplicity of the rule of teaming classic with modern, masculine or casual.
Simplicity is behind everything I do Carole 😃 it makes things so much easier and is achievable 🙌
I just turned 50 on the 9th of June. So these tips you gave will help me. Thank you.
🌟❤️Brilliant. Perfect. Wise. Sensible. Very pretty black lace top and sweater. You look wonderful❣️❤️

Great advice Marie! I love the French style!
THIS PROGRAM IS SOOOO INSTRUCTIVE!! LOVE IT!
I think you have really good advice and examples in this video. Very helpful and well done.
Just
Lots of good tips, thank you!
My mom uses to be a dressmaker.
She had grate style.
Never trashy always classy and feminin.
Thankfull she educated me well;
