As a 67 year old woman I can attest to the fact that being Feminine & wanting to dress so that you look & feel great never goes away. Sometimes we have a Renaissance even in much later years. It's gorgeous to feel like a woman ❤

😊Beautifully expressed. We were 💫 created to love & admire beauty. The longing to feel beautiful is something to embrace. You're 💯% right about Renaissance〰️except it can come at any age or stage of life.
🧐Sometimes there are those of us who have allowed ourselves to get beaten down by life, bombarded by scathing commentary, & maybe even set low by our own wretched thinking or choices. 🔄That cycle of negativity is often reflected in appearance😔.
🤓Dressing well is NOT about vanity or showing off. As you expressed, it shows strong self-esteem & zest for life. It can be transformative. 🎉At it's purest, it reflects joy, vitality, & confidence in our femininity🎉.
While all might not be to our exact taste or specifications, plz accept that there's a 🌈rainbow spectrum of style out there. It is not a case of ONE style fits all of humanity.
      🚫 Cattiness😾 or Shaming.
😉Let's be women who contribute (bless) rather than contaminate (curse) someone's sense of style. Find something to sincerely compliment〰️& 🤫remain silent about the rest.
👩‍🏫Unless you are an expert stylist or dear associate being solicited for specific feedback, be humble or keep those lips locked🤐. Give others the grace & space to figure it out in their own time. When asked something specifically, give examples of how you've formed & refined your own personal style in that direction. Next, give them space to make up their own mind about the matter.
Not all of us come out of the 👶womb perfectly understanding precisely what suits our body or lifestyle best. It doesn't help that we are often surrounded by harsh critics, aggressive competitors, terrible role models, & few qualified style mentors who actually wish to build others up to be the best version of themselves. As a result, many of us grow in fits & spurts along our style journey😂.
We need to extend more empathy, understanding, & compassion for our sisters. T.H.I.N.K. before you speak (i.e., assess if our words will be truthful, helpful, inspiring, necessary, & kind). At the very least, employ a modicum of diplomacy.
Also, as an elder👩‍🦳, be generous with your praise. You never know how deeply a sincere compliment will truly touch someone when they most need it. ✨️Blessings!

I’ve recently gotten into upcycling and sewing clothes so I thought I’d watch some videos on this topic. I can’t believe how different the advice is from one to another. Influencers are all saying something different. After numerous videos I’m more convinced than ever that we only need to please ourselves. If person A likes haute couture, great. If person B likes sweats and hoodies, also great. Just be yourself however that looks.

I had the best clothes when younger, I worked, and it was mostly a working wardrobe but now no longer have a job but still work. I gained a lot of weight after 60 but am losing it and will be adding a workout routine, you have inspired me, and you have such good taste. A large part of wearing color is the tone. You are wearing a clear red which looks great on you. Some would be better suited to a red with very warm tones toward orange and others would look better in cooler red with blue tones.

no, features do change: skin gets thinner, more veins show through, you might become paler (iron, B12, folate deficiency), the skin loses elasticity, might become dry, so it loses it's shine, gerontoxon might develop on the eye (so it changes the color), ears and nose gets bigger, hair becomes more coarse, greyish, or yellowish white, and so on...

I can definitely relate! 🙂 My approach was one level lower hemline. If the shirt is a midi or maxi, I've found that keeping the profile more form- fitting (* not TIGHT) to be more flattering. ( Versus getting lost in fabric, overwhelming my body shape) I know that trend of oversized is popular, but, in my opinion is unflattering. I love that trend of long denim skirt, but had to do a midi. LOVE the Maxi - but it overwhelmed my body shape, so instead I did the skirt in thinner black stretchy denim- wow! What a difference! I " adapted the trend to my body type & stayed true to my personal style. I also combined the waffle jacket, with moto & fur- everyone can't stop saying mind blown over this jacket. (* Budget friendly TJ Max!👍) I've learned so much from these videos! I'm 63 yo, and my daughter tells me I've found my best style these days. As she said, yes, we DO still want to look & feel fabulous. 100% agree that we are worth it- especially at our age. Loving this channel & community! Have a fabulous day, darlings!

One of the things you should of I would appreciate you to consider in your videos is this. First as I grew up in various foster homes and very poor with no female influences to help me I never learned how to dress in a flattering way. I also had a large Bust which caused some issues and made me super embarrassed at times. Once I was married and no longer in those situations, I then began having serious health problems. Here I am at 62 still no clue really unable to know how to dress stylishly. Add that to the fact that my feet are fused restricting my ability to wear any shoes except the ones that are suitable for my feet, add that to frozen shoulders and many other physical restrictions.
These are things that people such as yourself might take into consideration when making some of these videos. I know I’m not alone out here. You are lovely and I’ve enjoyed watching your video. Many of your outfits towards the end are things I could wear other than the boots. But I am going to make an effort to watch more of your videos. Thank you for such a positive video.

    Does is suit me?
Would I have bought this garment 5 years ago?
Will I still be wearing this garment in 5 years?
How ethical is the production of this garment including the manufacture of the fabric?

I understand what you’re trying to say but often the so called experts rules are a basic principle guide for people who are totally unaware unconscious of their body type, age skin/hair colour and what suits them. They aren’t set in stone guidelines, but I always see people wearing inappropriate clothes which make them look more older larger etc than dressing differently. Some people do it naturally others not 💕 I’m often asked by women I don’t know my opinion on something they are trying on when I am shopping for myself and of course I’m only happy enough to help make any woman feel better about herself and be the best version of herself she can be 💕 I know my strengths and weaknesses and I work with clothes to accentuate my strengths but lots of people don’t 🙏😘💕

Yes, we should do what needs to be done to look good and confident, but no good kidding ourselves that nothing changes.

I really enjoyed this video! Even if some things surprised me, like the fact that you wore black thin tights with a white (or cream) short skirt and silver slingback(!) pumps or the fact that you wore this mini skirt with a short jacket! All these things were surprising to me to see on your video but not new for me because I do and love this. Well done, really good tips also when you say that there is not "age appropriate" dressing. You can always wear whatever you love, fits and suits you. Every tip really was very helpful! 👌👍🙂

I loved your take on this, very interesting! Also I’ve never heard the myth that black and brown don’t go together 😳 I’m questioning some of my favourite outfit combinations now not going to lie lol. I have a corduroy brown mini (ish) skirt I found at a thrift store and had tailored, that I love pairing with black tights and a long sleeved black shirt. I usually pair with a black blazer or sometimes navy trench coat and Oxford shoes. I feel it looks stylish 🤷🏻‍♀️ so I guess that’s what matters most is that I feel good in it! I’m 31 in December and feel you can pull almost anything off if you have the confidence

@@emmsue1053 that is true but the additional secondary characteristics are whether your colouring is light or deep, clear or soft and that does change particularly if going from dark to silver as I have done.

I agree. While I can't afford designer clothes, I know I look great in what I can afford. I am a big fan of combining one trendy item with the basics when I dress. And my opinion is, if it looks & feels great, wear it! So I'm 61 and absolutely love wearing lug-soled shoes & boots. But I don't combine them with cami-pants. :) PS: I just found this video and immediately subscribed. Love your style and instruction.
