Ive played games for over 30 years but I'm a bit of a fighting game newb trying to learn and your videos are by far the best ive seen when looking on youtube. You make such a technical genre of games really clear and explain it so simply. Just earned yourself a subscriber! Keep up the great work! 👍🏻👍🏻
it's crazy how helpfull you're being with all these DBFZ tutorials for the community, i hope people learn Dragon Ball and get interested in overall fighting games, thanks for the tips
today i was against a guy at the 300000 points that i am right now and was perfeclty reflecting everything then i come here and find this. You are making my opponents better man stop it
Very cool of you to just teach the trick right away and then explain it, rather than trying to keep us watching as long as possible *before* telling us anything, (like a lot of other TH-camrs might.) I've seen a couple of your videos, but this one made me subscribe :D (That said, I *did* watch the whole video :P)
That note on buffering H as you come down was really interesting. At first I thought it was to build a tiny bit of meter, then I thought it was a timing thing, but now I see the light. Great video!
I feel like defense is so bad in this game that you either need to have crazy reflexes or you have to guess what ur opponent will do whenever he or she is applying pressure or following up. Especially for the grab/throw
It's on the lower side of defensive options, but there is an answer for everything. It takes ridiculous reflexes sure, but they do exist for those top tier players who can maximize them.
PathBeyondTheDark hey bro you seem to know what you are talking abt , can you help me on how to use reflect ? I try to do it all the time when blocking but it never seems to come off , do you know why?
You can't do it while blocking. There has to be a gap inbetween hits in their blockstring in order to successfully come off. In other words you have to be able to get out of blockstun and have at least a single frame where you can do other actions.
PathBeyondTheDark what abt on wake up when I'm on a sliding knockdown? Do I reflect while being in the animation of waking up or do I do it right before I am abt too ?
I play on Xbox and this pretty much works only for orange/pink squares , as im a yellow square atm and most players still decided to mash buttons on wake up lol
Hi Globku, I have a question, if I have alredy pre-order DBFZ for Switch how I get the bonus of Super Budoten for SNES? Do yo know if I should get it already or if I have to wait until September? (Sorry if I have mistakes in the sentences, I'm from México)
Jonah Trill easiest way to explain is that it's an input that beats out your opponents input upon wake up. A good example is if I perform a hard knockdown. And as your character model is getting up I connect a 2L before you could hit 5L, then it was meaty enough to beat out your jab. Kind of make sense?
What's really annoys me idls that if your playing at a lower level, people dint wait. The second you stop you combo, to reset or otherwise, they immediately spam L and there ain't Jack fer shit you can do about it
That's when you have to learn how to bait. In this scenario, they are very predictable. So for example, when they are put into a sliding knockdown simply backdash as they wake up and punish their spamming with a low medium or standing heavy. I learned this from watching Globku in his streams. Alternatively you can call an assist as they wake up to keep you safe if a bit less predictable, preferably obviously an assist you can combo off of if it connects. If you're not worried about optimal damage, you can also jump back and super dash since SD usually has priority over Lights and Mediums. You can do that a couple of times to see if they start respecting it, and if not you know you can try the more optimal stuff.
Sully G. You shouldn't be doing unsafe combos. If the combo ends where the opponent can immediately recover and punish you, then it's not a safe combo. You should be looking to mostly end combos with a sliding knockdown whenever possible, and in other scenarios in the air so you are force dropped during their recovery and thus can't punish you.
Easiest kind of player to beat. Send them into a sliding knockdown and then go for a meaty on wake up. During blockstrings delay a lil bit one move and they get comboed for mashing L during blockstun. If you can't do any of that, just get far away and wait. They get anxious and do fullscreen superdashes that are easily punishable with a 2H.
It depends if they time it right. If they time it right, your 2H won't come out in time and they'll punish you for trying. So basically unless you know they've timed it wrong, it's very risky.
sorry bud but your option select is actually very risky, if you press back down back back+s and they do an air dash h into a low attack and its a true blockstring you will actually get opened up low since you are holding back not down+back. an example is people trying to reflect against cell and then he lands 6H into death, similar concept of holding back during a true blockstring low
If they consistently jump on wakeup, then just do a standard blockstring and hit confirm. More often then not you'll catch them during the vulnerability frames as they jump off the ground. That's actually the most unsafe thing to do on wakeup.
PathBeyondTheDark wait so you mean don't even do an overhead ? Cause what I tend to do is do overheads when I'm in a corner but my opponent just jumps out of it , instead of doing an over heard should I just do a normal block string?
Yes. If you time it right on wakeup, you'll punish them during the couple of frames where the character is vulnerable while jumping. Jump blocking isn't 100% safe. When near the ground going up or coming down, you can be hit. I learned this the hard way since I used to jump block on wakeup always, was very salty until I found out what I was doing wrong.
PathBeyondTheDark oh okay makes sense now good thing I didn't have it become a habit since I never did it ... I did worse tbh lmao when blocking in the corner I knew how to get out of pressure I would just block so out of being impatient I would try to jump out of the situation which will have me get punished for it lol thanks bro it means I have really taken your advice into consideration
The first overhead will be blocked normally (reflect won't come out). The second overhead can be reflected (if you're still mashing reflect) or blocked if you're still holding block from the fuzzy reflect. Honestly fuzzy reflect is a very solid defensive option, try it mate. It does get fucked by dragon rush though lol

Mah boi TGN always coming out with the clutch thanks bro!

Yes.
Well, it’s a reflect...
That’s fuzzy
"This usually starts happening around demon and super saiyan 3"
Is this a personal attack? lmao
Alright! Time to use it online!
*Hit with Dragon Rushes and nothing but Dragon Rushes*
You can delayed stand up and then reflect
What has REALLY made me improve on DBFZ was definitely using reflect. It can be scary, that's why it requires practice and more practice.
I play on Xbox and this pretty much works only for orange/pink squares , as im a yellow square atm and most players still decided to mash buttons on wake up lol
Im gonna be shouting "FUZZY REFLECT" During all your live streams now
Nice video man very helpful info
Appreciate the upload brother

Emiliano Reyes you have to wait until it comes out on the switch i believe
Just a question: Can u cover the fuzzy reflect with a assist?
I need to use reflect more
Businessman not too much good players will exploit it
Hey does this still work? Not patched? First time watching.
good job hopefully more people learn about even though this is kinda old
is this an option select?
Great stuff bro. Always heard about this but never knew what it was... one more thing tho..what is a meaty? No homo

ohhh boy time to practices
You beautiful wonderful little gentleman
Awesome vid
Is this still a thing or was patched in season 3
This sounds like an option select?
What's really annoys me idls that if your playing at a lower level, people dint wait. The second you stop you combo, to reset or otherwise, they immediately spam L and there ain't Jack fer shit you can do about it
Sully G. Exactly an their weird play style catches me off guard

Fusion tell me, O Great One, how you can move while still in recovery frames.

thank you!!!!
What happens if The character have a qcb s move? Won't that come out instead?
I wouldn't think so since you need to press 214 + S for the move, but here we're only pressing 1 + 4S, obviously without the 2
Dylan Webb ok thanks I'm going to try it I was afraid Nappa might not be able to do it but I guess it makes sense
where’s the adds?
Lockdown is on September so is my birthdat
Does this work against Bardocks? Cuz that son of a gun doesnt believe in reflects, he defies all odds
Can't we just 2H the overhead ? Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't even do the animation I don't understand
It depends if they time it right. If they time it right, your 2H won't come out in time and they'll punish you for trying. So basically unless you know they've timed it wrong, it's very risky.
PathBeyondTheDark Thx
Cara, a exemplo de alguns outros vídeos seus, este também está com o áudio extremamente baixo.
*Handsome! 👍🏼*
U look like a classy Luigi bro
Fds vc e tuga?

I know the struggle with Trunks’ super
It don't cover dragon rush
how do i call in a super without using a super??
Half circle back/forth and assist button while doing a combo (I don't know the right notations for it but hopefully it helps)
Ty.
214 forward or back plus whichever assist button...depending on char and super may need correct timing to land
Im a master at it now, who wanna fight
I’m dwn but where are you from?
Are you from Portugal????????????? Man, So can i speak in Portuguese? Eu sou do Brasil, mas falarei português mesmo assim hahah
Haha nao fazia ideia que eras tuga xD
Don't you just get smacked by a double overhead??
Yooooo
Lmao I can never iad overhead cuz everyone jumps
If they consistently jump on wakeup, then just do a standard blockstring and hit confirm. More often then not you'll catch them during the vulnerability frames as they jump off the ground. That's actually the most unsafe thing to do on wakeup.

Buff Cell
You can't improve perfection tho
Second!
Yay first comment
This is sick but this game needs pushblock as soon as possible.
Eh won’t matter, Defense sucks in this game
Yo who watches violet evergarden
It's a raw lv 3, calling it now
