I don't know the actual size, but I can tell you is the tow hook that comes with every BMW

@@bmwn5238 Ok thanks, I have a 640i grand coupe and the tow hook that comes with that car fits the tow hole but not the engine lifting hole that’s why I was asking.

@@KarlosZ1912 for N62 engines you don't use the tow hook you use chains, and on the side of the cylinder head there is a bracket with a loop you can used for the rod of the engine support bar if is long enough or use a short chain
