    This is why Prometheus is my favourite film, I do love the Alien movies but no film has intrigued me or left so many questions and well generally got me hyped as much as Prometheus. There is so much potential with the Engineers. I love the fact they created life in the universe and ultimately in thier search for Godliness had a hand in creating its dimise.

      ı wouldnt call it a demise i believe it actually would be a more certain execution of the Human life at the end of the day we did make david and it was made clear that the planet david caused genocide was a more favoured race lets say more peaceful and have more dignity than the human counterpart on earth' forgeting the films they most certainly would of found out what happened on the planet where the genocide took place and would probably cause a high tech war of revenge on planet earth which we would not have a fighting chance and i mean the Alphas which are a more advanced and powerful race behind the engineers it is said that the engineers are a police' archaeologist's' biologist worker force in the hierarchy so i would have to disagree with demise

    Right! Alien was perhaps the first movie i saw in theatre as a child! It permanently traumatized me as it was so damn scary, but at least i had my father's hand to hold on to! A few years later when i saw John Carpenter's "The Thing" which traumatized me even more, i did not have that luxury of a hand to squeeze! :) Anyway, yes, concerning Alien, the Space Jockey was always the single most fascinating thing about that movie. So much mystery! I even had an "iron on" picture of it on a t-shirt as a child. Are iron on's even still a thing? Boy, it has been so long! :)

    I like the idea of the mural of the alien being a warning created. A warning of what happens when you loose control of the pathogen, you create your own angel of death, a xenomorph. Also I find the pathogen to be something that could be explored more as some sort of substance created by the engineers by wiping out a Xeno like race, and the goo is some metaphorical vengeance of this race. By getting infected, one is sort of possessed resurrecting these Aliens as demons seeking vengeance but not literal demons. Maybe the Alien race was once their gods or version of angels that they destroyed to ascend and now David has resurrected them as godless monsters who are perfect organisms. That may explain the Engineers technology or their tech shows the Xeno creatures are their creations whose minds were pulled from some void worse than the engineers thought, they gave these monsters bodies and they will bring them all out of the void! IDK I like the philosophy that the prequels have, which could have been explored upon further.

    • @EEZO115
      @EEZO115 ปีที่แล้ว

      The mural doesn’t relate to the pathogen directly. If you see at the bottom right of the mural you can see a facehugger like creature - a possible ancestor of the facehugger we see in Alien 1979.
      The room had warnings on it stating “Only the chosen can pass through. This is sacred ground and must be kept sacred. If you dare to cross into sacred ground you must be punished. This is the birth place of our Lord and no being is worthy.”
      The giant head in the room itself has writing on it which also states “Our chosen one. The chosen one who created our Lord. This is his resting place and our attempt at resurrecting our lords blood.”
      This relates to the aforementioned mural showing the impregnation of their “chosen one” and then their “Lord” (First Deacon) in the form of the crucifix above him.
      With all of these things to concider, they imply the “Xenomorph” or “Deacon” (a creature which is born by impregnation via a facehugger) already existed and the engineers most likely didn’t create it.

  • @EEZO115
    @EEZO115 ปีที่แล้ว

    The engineer at the beginning of the movie doesn’t drink the black goo, it’s not the same colour and doesn’t act the same either.
    There’s a draft script that came out which correlates almost exactly to what we are conveyed in the documentary itself.
    In the draft script it states how what the engineer drinks is in fact the “blood of the first deacon” The creature portrayed in the form of the Cross in the giant head room.
    The black goo is the engineers attempt at re creating the “blood of their Lord” after it all supposedly ran out

    That Engineer in the beginning of Prometheus must have come billions of years ago, because that's how life came to be on Earth, where the elder would choose a perfect genetics youngster to sacrifice and probe another planet.
    If they are billions of years old, that means they not only might have probed billions of planets, but also they might have become much much more advanced than the one we've seen at the end of Prometheus. They might have mastered even energy, space and time.
    They seem to have created some sort of biomechanic technology, maybe they got it over the years of probing. Maybe each time they probed, a new civilization would either join them or rebel against them.
    Maybe they really judged humans over their past acts thousands of years ago, but only one group of them went to punish them. Maybe they were the ones the elders were expecting in Planet 4.
    Maybe the black goo was originally meant to be just a tool of probing and reproduction of their species, until it was turned into a biological weapon to create natural killing machines.
    Did they create xenomorphs? Impossible to tell. They might have found a planet with them, studied one of them and reverse engineered their reproduction system. Specifically, the facehugger.
    Did they create humans? Indirectly, yes. They started life in the oceans, leading to the birth of micro-organisms, which over billions of years led to complex organisms such as humans.
    Did they have a purpose? Yes, to allow their species to go on. Since they can't breed naturally, they have to do it artificially, but it takes billions of years to get results, so every few thousands of years they visit to register progress.
    Maybe the reason they lost reproduction as a species occured due to contact with the black goo itself, OR they might have never had it. We don't know if they were the ones responsible for all this.
    Maybe they were created by something else, by a higher being that is beyond our understanding, that would create them to be servants probing the universe. Maybe they're the original biomechanic organisms that came to exist.
    It would make sense, biomechanic being creates a creature that is as strong as machines but can't multiply. The perfect worker to execute your tasks. The Engineers might've developed a conscience and then corrupted their creators' idea for a perfect world.
    The xenomorph is almost the perfect being, as a perfect weapon, so what was supposed to be a creature that would help their species grow, it's a creature that replaces the previous one, like a plague.
    I really want to see more of these ancient biomechanic beings that might be the answer to all mysteries in the Alien universe.

    These Engineers much resemble the Observers (from the series Fringe) experimenting on themselves, the Alphas resemble a civilisation called the Ancients (from Stargate SG-1) but somehow they are still alive unlike the Ancients, the primordial hunt evolves through the Yautjas and the dark Xeno,Neo,Protomorphs and Deacons. Humanity though is still, on the scale of beings, relatively frail and devolved as if we are without sufficiency and we are a sideline in this universe. I like your version and explanation(s) and in time some of your material will be borrowed to rebuild the overlapping story and timelines.

    Funny how Prometheus and Star Wars prequels are similar.
    Both Alien and Star Wars are late-70s movies that are the result of several and diverse creative inputs (Dan O'Bannon and HR Giger for Alien, Gary Kurtz and Ralph McQuarrie and Marcia Lucas for Star Wars).
    Both films are wrongly perceived as the work of one man, their director.
    And in both cases, Lucas and Scott directed prequel movies, with no involvement of their former collaborators, near-complete freedom, and they brought some obvious thematic contradictions with the older movies.
    It really shows that the director is rarely the only one responsible for the quality of the movie, it's a crew.

    4:40 - 'They abandoned sex and gender'. Interesting, this implies that they originally were a sexed species, presumably having male and female. Were they mammals, with internal gestation? I understand that they now reproduce with artificial means, and they may have modified their bodies to no longer have a sex. But gender? What does gender mean here, that is not redundant? Do you mean the behavioral effects of sex, becuase that is already encompassed within sex. Or do you mean socailly constructed role attatched to sex? Becuase, that's redundant to mention too, becuase without sexes there cant be any social role related to sex, can there? Finally, I question what thw word gender means? Do you mean internal sense of gender identity? Becuase that's never been proven to exist, so I qustion if it's even worth mentioning.
